Consider a good pain med like hydrocodone (or other opioid) for pain in Stage 4.
The back pain is back and the surgean referred me to PM and gave me the same meds gabapentin and hydrocodone, so I started smoking again otherwise I get sick dont eat, puke bile. PM did a drug test, which I told them about the pot and they said no injections without it but would put me on tramadol due to FDA law.
Marinol is just pharmaceutical MJ, and docs cannot prescribe it for w/ds.
I agree with the others, ride it out. Anything you're feeling won't harm you....just just have to get through it. Wanting to turn to another drug to ease the w/ds from the first drug is how people stay stuck on the merry-go-round.
I took 1 2.5 mg Marinol cap about 2 weeks ago. I don't do drugs. The pill was taken by mistake.

I don't know why your levels would go up before they went down, I don't even get why they would continue testing you like that, I don't remember my OB testing me for drugs, or at least he didn't say anything to me about it but I was also supposed to be taking Marinol (which is the legal pharmacological version of marijuana) because of stomach disorders I suffer from that cause me tons of severe chronic nausea/vomiting, extreme weight loss, and even severe to debilitating chronic

I have IBS, I also have cardiomyopathy and pulmonary hypertension. I get severe pain in my abdomen. It is beyond any other pain besides the worst migraine I've ever had. The pain is so bad I usually end up pouring sweat and putting as much pressure on my gut as possible until it passes.
I use guided meditation sometimes and that helps a lot.
My Dr. has run through all of the standard medications, and many are not available to me because of the cardiac problems.

Marinol is typically prescribed to cancer patients to help with the pain, nausea, and to increase appetite. Many cancer patients have said that it is not nearly as effective as real medical marijuana and a smaller subset said it helped. A few chronic pain patients have been prescribed Marinol for pain and attest that it is very effective for pain.
My dad takes oxycodone 15mg/ oxycontin 20mg/ marinol 2.5mg/ and ibuprofen 220mg Marinol is synthetic marijuana and it is doing wonders for his back pain. But if this is the case then shouldn't he theoretically be able to go off of the oxy's? I am so confused. Doctors don't tell me about liver or kidney protection and that is one of my first concerns.
I have liver cirrhosis and when I became ill, my doctor prescribed Marinol for weight gain. I had lost 85 lbs and gained 30 pounds with this treatment. My doctor discontinued the Marinol and my weight decreased. I am 6'2" tall and am considering smoking marijuana to achieve the weight gain I am comfortable with. Will this method injure my liver further or have no real effects to it?
I have smoked with them but I do not want to smoke anymore or to become certified for the smell around the house with kids and on my clothing. It works and do relieve my pain. I am still trying to do sports and those knees of mine just pain along with the shoulder. I looking for a doctor in Las Vegas to write me a precription just to make a comparison.
I am not a young person who wants to be just high. Medical marijuana is growing in population and I just read about a new lotion.
I can feel perfectly fine and am able to eat and drink. However, that period of time is always short lived and may only be 30 to 40 minutes. I may or may not get a period of "well time" in the evening but lately this has not been the case.
I will try to keep my treatment course and history short. I have been successfully treated with various I.V. and oral chemotherapy drugs. The most successful course of treatment were the antimalarials, specifically Plaquenil and Aralen.
I don't know anything about drug testing, but i think there are over the counter ones you can get at a pharmacy or whatever...
as far as the emotional rollercoaster...it can go on for a while, maybe a month or two, but for me it's over after a week...try to exercise and stay busy and you don't have to worry as much...idle hands are the devil's work so they say...exercise releases endorphins like the pills did, it can really help.
If you tell him you are running out and he does a drug screen and finds it in your system that will not be good. And please only take what is prescribed for you.

That's likely going to depend on the facility and their policies, along with any local laws. The consent form should outline what testing will be done. This forum has members from all over the world, so it's not possible to determine what may or may not be required at a specific facility in a specific state or country.
Yeah I know they do that one before they let you leave because if either of you fail they get child protective services involved.. I was just concerned about my doctors office not telling me everything they test and check for I feel that we should be told everything they are doing to keep us well informed because my friend failed a drug test and I didn't even know they were drug testing people.
She was concerned about them drug testing her and her daughter and was wondering was anyone from Philadelphia that has experience with this. She doesn't want her child taken away but in all actuallity she shouldn't of to begin with but now thats besides the point. Do anyone know is it mandatory to test or is it only under suspicion That they will test in the state of pa/Philadelphia?
