Avatar n tn I have been able to go to work and function since then, although always depressed, alone, angry. I recently added marinol and provigil, and feel optimistic for the first time in years, until the drug test. It's assumed I'm lying, but I need someone to help figure out where the phenobarbital came from. I'm certain I took it at some time, but not in several years. I'm ready to give up, so this is my final plea for help? I've got no more fight left in me. Thanks.
Avatar f tn The back pain is back and the surgean referred me to PM and gave me the same meds gabapentin and hydrocodone, so I started smoking again otherwise I get sick dont eat, puke bile. PM did a drug test, which I told them about the pot and they said no injections without it but would put me on tramadol due to FDA law.

Medications & Substances Causing False Positives According to a report by the Los Angeles Times New Service, a study of 161 prescription and over the counter medications showed that 65 of them produced false positive results in the most widely administered urine test.
Avatar m tn My doctor for my liver has ordered me a "serum drug test" I am not sure why she has done this because I told her that I feel some doc treat me like a drug addict because I have hep c, and now she thinks I am one?!? or because she is seeing if my liver is clearing certain drugs or what? But, I use marijuana sometimes for Nausea. At most a couple hits, and most of the time I just live through it but it can be very frustrating.
Avatar f tn If you cleared the virus through treatment and had DNA testing showing you virus free, it is very unlikely. However, if the sensitivity of the test you had after treatment was sensitive only down to >600 uL, then it is possible some was hiding uner the radar. Have you had PCR DNA testing each year since you finished treating? Do you know the sensitivity of the test? Maybe you have some other liver issue going on? Impossible to say from here. I hope your doctor has some answers for you soon.

Federal law also mandates that marijuana use and possession is illegal but Presidents and the Justice Department have chosen to ignore the laws they swore to defend. 1461073 tn?1308681148 I too questioned the Zofran/Phenergan protocol, along with the Marinol, as being too aggressive. The Oncologist just put him on the Zofran and Marinol on 10/2/18. He said he wanted to try it for a week to see if it helped. The CBD oil was recommended by a friend whose child is battling cancer and has helped his N/V and appetite a lot so my hubby wanted to try it.
Avatar m tn They tried every other anti Nausea drug including Marinol which is suppose to have the same thing the in the MJ but it does not work. The MJ is the only thing that works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar m tn Marijuana Not Medicine, Addiction Experts Say Kathleen Louden Apr 29, 2013 CHICAGO — Illinois should not legalize cannabis, and physicians should not write recommendations for patients to use marijuana for medical purposes, because it is a dangerous, addictive drug and is not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a group of addiction medicine physicians said during a press conference here.
1747881 tn?1546179478 Colorado, Washington Pot Legalization Deals Drug War Major Blow Colorado and Washington became the first states to legalize recreational marijuana in the prohibition era on Tuesday, dealing a major blow to the war on drugs. Medical marijuana was also legalized in Massachusetts, underlining long-running trends in public opinion toward more permissive attitudes on drugs.
203342 tn?1328740807 It's not like they are going into a back alley somewhere and buying this from drug dealers. They also appear to monitor the amount and usage. I don't think people can just go to a doctor and ask for it, either. They appear to have to have a legitimate medical reason. I see a lot of fear out there on this and am wondering why.
Avatar n tn However, he said he has been hearing of some good responsives with a drug, (he said the name and called it in to my Pharmacist, and I didn't write it down what the name was as I was going to see the name once I was supposed to pick it up from the Pharmacy), that is used my patients after a kidney transplant. So, he prescribed it for me, however, it bounced back from the pharmacy, because they said it was a certain class of drug, and must be approved by my health insurance.
Avatar f tn Although my nausea is healed, I usually fall dead asleep right after I take it. The problems that you are facing with the Marinol is because Marinol has always been side to have the same side effects as marijuana. That explains the side effects of short-term memory and not feeling completely there.
1159737 tn?1286520857 It is in a small gel cap and there are far less side effects then just about every drug under the sun. The marinol pill has been available for quite some time. It is prescribed to cancer patients who are going through chemo and such. Sorry I am just now reading your comment. RX yes I have a prescription paper with a recommendation from a certified MD that says I am allowed to use Marijuana for my pain and not get in trouble with my pain management provider.
567677 tn?1246771376 he said to me well Utah does not have Medical Majiuana but for trigeminal neuralgia I can put you on Marinol the side effects will help you ... I asked him what it was and he told me I was just glad I wasn't presenting for it...
Avatar f tn I went to my PCP, and ended up at a GI, and went through several rounds of testing, and about a month later, I was still having dry heaves, but I was noticing that they were proceeded by episodes of extreme nausea that I hadn't noticed prior. Before then, I went from fine, to "omg, there it goes." I saw two GI specialists, had several special tests, and everything looked normal, but a general surgeon wanted to remove my gallbladder, thinking that could be the cause.
Avatar n tn As a former alcoholic and drug addict, I have to tell you that for ME just drinking booze led to my smoking pot. And from there it WAS the gateway to everything else. Except if it involved needles or downers, 'cause I HATED needles & hated downers, still do ... ironic isn't it?! :) Pot led to speed, cocaine, meth, LSD and lots of other stuff. Of course, back then cocaine was not "addictive". LOL, oh to know then what I know now.
Avatar m tn They read the activity for about 5 minutes or so then, they switch to the stimulation part of the testing. There were two parts, nothing too terrible. The first part is where they had me breathe at a rapid panting pace for about 5 minutes. Basically what that does is hyperventilate you. That was the hardest part of the whole test, because you body by nature wants to stop doing that. Then they have you stop once you reach their time goal. They read that activity.
4226456 tn?1354123528 My hep doctor told me he has lots of patients who use marijuana for the nausea and to feel better, although he does not prescribe it. The marinol was a miracle drug for relieving my pain and itch. It did give me a total head numbness the first few days as my body got used to it I think. I tried glucosamine/chondraiyin/msm combo as suggested and saw no relief from my muscles or joints. It seems swimming and getting up moving, massages, warm tub soaks helps a little.
Avatar n tn My endo didn't care and said I was lucky that I wouldn't have to lose weight. My GI doctor disagreed and prescribed Marinol. I never could tolerate it, but no other nausea med worked and Phenergan added to the movement, especially the doses they had me on (150 mg/daily). I settled on a small dose of Marinol (2.5 mg). I even have problem with that. It seems to be related to faster heart beat. I have been weaning off of it.
