I went to UC for kidney infection/kidney pain in my lower back rt hand side. The symptoms were severe the night before. Left a urine sample and was told i have a bad bladder inf. Dr prescribed macrobid. Then next morning my lower back was hurting again, same spot. Will macrobid help clear up a kidney infection?

Uti or bladder infection. My doctor proscribed me macrobid. Terrified to take it, anyone else had to use this while pregnant, I'm only 8 weeks!

I was on macrobid for a UTI at the time of collection (started on macrobid Saturday, had 4 doses by the time of collection on Monday morning, blood work as fasting so last dose taken before blood collection was over 12 hours previously). Does anyone know if macrobid affects eGFR or is this level an induction of possible kidney infection/disease/cancer?

I am 16 wks. pregnant and my OB prescribed Macrobid for UTI, i had urinalysis and small amount of blood was noted. I told my OB that my urologist said that im always will have blood in my urine beacuse of hx. of cyst in my kidney so I requested to have urine culture prior to taking Macrobid, my OB is insistant to start the med. since it is going to take awhile for culture results to come back. so im already in my 4rt day of the meds.

I've had 3 uti's this pregnancy, therefore I have been put on macrobid for the remaining of my pregnancy. I have to take 1 every night until I deliver. Started @32 weeks am now 35+5. No problems from it yet. I haven't had any syptoms of uti so I would never known if it weren't for the urine soles at Dr. Office.

I've been told I have a UTI and was given Macrobid/Nitrofurantoin. I have taken 3 tablets but out of curiosity I looked them up on the internet and it said some women have lost their babies days after taking the tablets. Has anyone taken these and had a healthy pregnancy?!

My doc precribed me the antibiotic macrobid. She said it is safe during pregnancy but I have read so many post from woman online who say macrobid caused them problems nor even miscarriage. Hi.. has anyone else taken macrobid for uti?? Is it normal to feel horribly sick with it? How did you all deal with the nausea? My doc gave me reglan but it doesn't seem to be helping and I'm hardly half way with macrobid.. I've been non functional while taking it and it's getting worse every day. i was just given macrobid by my doctor to treat a bladder infection. i know that he wouldnt give me something that would be harmful, and not treating it would be more harmful then taking medications .. i would just like to hear if anyone eles has taken this medication for a uti and if they had any side effects with it? i tryed to look for infromation on the net about it but there were to many mixed reviews on this... or is there any other safer drugs you've take for uti's?

Im currently 21 weeks pregnant and im taking 25mg of zoloft for my depression and anxiety and now i have kidney stones so im taking the antibiotic macrobid, phengran for nausea and tylenol 3 for the pain of the kidney stones my question is, is it ok to take these medications together im scared that taking all these meds will hurt my baby

the only thing they found was some red blood cells in my urine. The doctor prescribed me macrobid anyways...I havent taken them yet because it has almost completely gone away. I have been gorging myself with water, so i am hoping that it was only because i was dehydrated. Any suggestions? Should I take the macrobid anyways?

I was given macrobid at 20 weeks for a uti my dr said it was safe to take while pregnant. Im now almost 32 weeks and baby is fine. Although i think she said yeast infections were common with it I never got one. These sites online may not be the most reputable so I wouldn't listen much. Plus if you dont take meds you could end up with bladder or kidney infection.

But then two days after finishing the antibiotics, the symptoms came back and I had abdominal pain and kidney pain. I went back to the walk in clinic and was put on Macrobid for five days. After five days however, none of my symptoms seemed to be gone. I went to immediate care and they gave me another five days of Macrobid. I finally started feeling better by the 7th day on Macrobid. I took about two weeks to get rid of the UTI, and then I felt fine for about another two weeks.

I am 19 years old, female, and I’ve dealt with UTI’s all my life. The doctor told me I could have a kidney infection based on the symptoms. He prescribed me Cephalexin for 10 days. The bleeding stopped and the pain after urination. I decided after day 4 to switch to Macrobid and it is day 3 and I still have mild urgency. What do I do?

He decided to treat me for a UTI based upon my symptoms and gave me a 3 day course of Macrobid. The symptoms cleared up and then returned within 2 days of finishing the medication. I noticed that the sediment looked purulent on the toilet paper but dried like chalk if I got it on my hands. Upon returning to my doctor, the urine dip was once again normal other than "Trace" WBC, so he sent it in for micoscopic evaluation, which has not come back yet.

For the past month now I have been having intermittent dull, sometimes burning pain in my right kidney - nothing really bad that sends me to the ER, but bothersome nonetheless. At the same time I started noticing foam in my urine and started feeling really rundown, tired, with loss of appetite. Dipstick urinalysis, urine culture came back negative. Was put on Macrobid for 7 days and I started feeling better overall except for foam and appetite.

First off, I want to inform you that I have been diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis and have had consistent UTI's since I was 5 years old. ve finally been hospitalized with a kidney infection. The doctor said the good news is I caught it early despite none of the typical symptoms. She said the baby is fine but I can't help but worry.
