Does anyone know if macrobid affects eGFR or is this level an induction of possible kidney infection/disease/cancer? I have been experiencing dizziness and nausea which one doctor said was labyrhinthitis (I did have a confirmed bacterial ear infection) but an ENT disagreed and said I still had to compensate from the bacterial infection (5 months ago). Just want to make sure there's nothing else I'm missing.
I went to UC for kidney infection/kidney pain in my lower back rt hand side. The symptoms were severe the night before. Left a urine sample and was told i have a bad bladder inf. Dr prescribed macrobid. Then next morning my lower back was hurting again, same spot. Will macrobid help clear up a kidney infection?
I am 16 wks. pregnant and my OB prescribed Macrobid for UTI, i had urinalysis and small amount of blood was noted. I told my OB that my urologist said that im always will have blood in my urine beacuse of hx. of cyst in my kidney so I requested to have urine culture prior to taking Macrobid, my OB is insistant to start the med. since it is going to take awhile for culture results to come back. so im already in my 4rt day of the meds.
Hi.. has anyone else taken macrobid for uti?? Is it normal to feel horribly sick with it? How did you all deal with the nausea? My doc gave me reglan but it doesn't seem to be helping and I'm hardly half way with macrobid.. I've been non functional while taking it and it's getting worse every day.
Any advise on dealing with it will be appreciated..
Uti or bladder infection. My doctor proscribed me macrobid. Terrified to take it, anyone else had to use this while pregnant, I'm only 8 weeks!
Im currently 21 weeks pregnant and im taking 25mg of zoloft for my depression and anxiety and now i have kidney stones so im taking the antibiotic macrobid, phengran for nausea and tylenol 3 for the pain of the kidney stones my question is, is it ok to take these medications together im scared that taking all these meds will hurt my baby
I took my course of macrobid 3 weeks ago and all is well . Im wondering if those cases u saw were in the first trimester. Im sure our Ob doctors wouldn't give us unsafe meds knowing we are pregnant.
I was taking it for a UTI & double kidney infection. But now, my period is not due for another 2 weeks. And I know of 2 other women in their 40s who did experience the same thing with the bleeding. I just want it to stop. So annoying.
Is Benign Fasciculations Syndrome progressive? I don't drink, smoke or drink caffeine beverages. I lead a fairly relaxed life as a housewife. I don't exercise other than chasing children around. This past year while taking medications for a kidney infection (7 day course) I started to experience muscle twitching (legs, biceps, buttocks, etc.) that moved from muscle to muscle every few minutes. It then progressed to occurring in several muscles (2-6) consecutively.
So, about two weeks ago I started feeling just a slight pressure when I would urinate. I have a very tough time with my pretty little flora down there (recurrent yeast infections, recurrent BV) etc. I figured maybe it was an onset of another infection so I just brushed it off and tried to eat lots of yogurt and drink a ton of water to flush out whatever might be striking.
You did comment that it was unlikely that the uti med(macrobid) could have cleared something up???? What disease could the med cleared up?I do remember even after taking macrobid i had a very pronounced lumbar pain mainly left side.I felt as if my kidneys were infected as well.I experienced chills but no fever.I did get lab result in rhumatoid factor -28.I am 42yrs.old.My last urinalysis neg.Please help me.
I had passed a kidney stone 2 days ago and got a bladder infection. I was placed on Macrobid 100mg and noticed I was bleeding and my period doesn't start until next week. Is this normal?
I just recently went to the ER for severe pain in my back, stomach, and burning upon urination whenever that was; meaning sometimes I didn't...I'm diabetic but lately I've had 7 uti's just this year alone but this is the first time I've ever been put on Macrobid...usually this drug is given for kidney or bladder infections...
Due to pain in my lower left side, I was referred to a urologist. I've had bladder infections most of my life (I'm mid-forties now) and I recognize this pain. Usually the Macrobid prescription did its thing and I could go on. When the pain didn't subside from what I thought was a recurring bladder infection (UTI) I had to ask my PCP for a referral. After a scope and a CAT scan, he told me I have and atrophic left kidney.operating at maybe 20%.
But then two days after finishing the antibiotics, the symptoms came back and I had abdominal pain and kidney pain. I went back to the walk in clinic and was put on Macrobid for five days. After five days however, none of my symptoms seemed to be gone. I went to immediate care and they gave me another five days of Macrobid. I finally started feeling better by the 7th day on Macrobid.
I took about two weeks to get rid of the UTI, and then I felt fine for about another two weeks.
