lumigan

Avatar m tn one of the instructions for using Lumigan or Latisse states not to use on the lower eyelid but it doesn't explain why?
Avatar f tn hi am a trich sufferer. can i use normal lumigan eyedrops on my eyebrows, scalp and eyelashes? i dont have access to latisse.or is there any other medication that grows hair fast? can i use folligen? what are the adverse effects of using lumigan on eyes and eyebrows?
Avatar m tn I am taking Lumigan (very expensive) in both eyes to reduce my IOP. That works pretty well. I used to take it only in my left eye because it showed damage to my optic nerve. Now my doctor asked me to also take them in my right eye, but I never had a high IOP in that eye. Does that mean - I did not have a chance to ask him yet - that I have "normal tension Glaukoma" in that eye?
Avatar m tn I am not only thinning fair eyelashes, but also fair hair and eyebrows and in my 40s with only slight graying. so has lumigan been studied long enough to know if fair skinned/hair people get similar darkening and lenghtening benefits? I'm interested as much in the darkening as I am the hopefully hair growth in these places. I've been using Lumigan for about 1 week and maybe slightly longer lashes but no darkening.
12845664 tn?1427483649 I am using Lumigan (bimatoprost) 0.01% nightly. Cost under my Medicare coverage is pretty high (deductible plus copay). Bimatoprost 0.03% is now available as a generic. What potential problems am I inviting by asking my ophthalmologist to switch prescriptions and start using the 0.03%?
Avatar n tn you have a lot more to worry about then that. So talk to your eye MD team about getting off Lumigan and that entire class of glaucoma meds (prostaglandin inhibitors) and about starting restasis for the dry eye.
Avatar n tn I remember I was first put on Travantan Z when my right eye was first diagnosed with glaucoma, and that kept my IOP down around 18. 6 months later I went to a glaucoma specialist and she switched me to Lumigan and the measured IOP after a month was only one point lower than the month previously. She indicated that was evidence Lumigan was better. I doubted that since I figured the IOP could probably vary more than 1 point day to day.
Avatar m tn Heart arrhythmia including PVCs is not likely due to Lumigan or the two other medications in that family (Travatan-Z and latanoprost). They are not listed in the drug prescribing literature. I have several thousand patients on these medication and only have one patient in many years that complained of heart beat problems HOWEVER when we changed to a different type of medication (different class of glaucoma medications at present there are 4 classes) the problem stopped.
Avatar n tn However, last visit hemorrhage on optic nerve found and added Alpgagan P to Lumigan, did not do a thing after 6 weeks, pressure 24 today. Dr. Stated Alphagan P was the best he could do with MEDS, and it did not do a thing so wants to do SLT which he says may not work or can make pressure worse. So if SLT does not work are my only options more riskier surgeries! Visual field gave been perfect for last 8 years, do not know if this hemorrhage has caused defects as yet!
Avatar m tn also some people are born with an extra row of eyelashes this is called distachiasis , also some medications notably the glaucoma medicines latanoprost, lumigan and travitan-z causes eyelashs to grow exuberantly lastly small tumors on the eye or eyelid called dermoids can grown hairs. Trauma to the eyelid can cause lashes to grow the wrong way.
Avatar m tn Azopt rare makes eyes red, lumigan is a failrly common cause of chronic red eyes. You might discuss stopping the lumigan for a week or two to see if that helps. If it does Travatan-Z is gentler on the eye and often better at lower IOP, also there is a new preservative free prostaglandin glaucoma eyedrop Zioptrin which might be helpful. I have a very large glaucoma practice and when patients have chronic red eyes and they are on alphagan P or Lumigan I suspect them as the cause first thing.
Avatar n tn The retinal specialist gave 2 very strong drops to reduce the IOP. Subsequent to using the drops he went for a check for IOP and it was 15. Three weeks after continuously using the drops on his next checkup the IOP was back at 27. The retinal specialist seemed to be a loss. He is now recommending a glaucoma specialist. We are not sure what to do.
Avatar f tn There should be significant visual recovery after a week and by one month it should be pretty well healed. My doctors do not like to use latanoprost after cataract surgery because it may increase the incidence of CME (macular edema). Dr. O.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Travatan Z drops from June until yesterday (10/13/16). I had an appointment with my eye doctor yesterday and he told me to stop taking the Travatan drops. I have noticed eyelash growth. I have discovered this is a side effect of the drops. Most of what I read says once the drops are discontinued, the eyelash growth is reversible. What does that mean? How is it reversible?
Avatar m tn I do have a high reading in the eye in question altho technically I do not have glaucoma so Dr wants to prevent it going higher with inflammation. Thanks for reassuring me about the Lumigan, would the Timolol be ok to use instead just to relieve my stress about it?
Avatar f tn With these drops i have eye lashes that go into the inner eye that i have to painfully pluck as they rub on the little pink (gland} and make mine red. Lumigan is the best choice though right? thank you?
Avatar m tn how much better can he tweak the IOL lens choice for the right eye to get me closer to distance vision, and two, since I have been under their care since before I had glaucoma, how is it that the glaucoma could progress that far that fast, with loss of vision over the last 18 months affecting my night and daytime driving. I thought he had pressure under control with Lumigan, and he even stopped that in the left eye months ago, then restarted after the visual field test showed deteriration.
Avatar n tn What you may be referring to is people with very very mild glaucoma and very little money that are on expensive drops like Lumigan and Travatan Z in some cases with very careful monitoring may be able to use the drops once every two or three days. I think it not a good idea and don't do it in my practice. If there's a money problem I recommend selective laser trabeculoplasty.
757137 tn?1347196453 Has anyone on this forum used Latisse to grow longer, thicker eyelashes? One of my daughters wants to use it, but doesn't know if it is effective, or whether it can harm the eyes. Your personal experiences using this product would be very much appreciated.
274009 tn?1224434467 Background, I've had 4 eye surgeries for detatched retina (left eye) plus at the time of my last eye surgery I had a catarac removed. I now have Glaucoma as a result of all this. After my last eye surgery I was told that I'll never have full use of my eye plus I still have a partial detatchment that's been stable now for 10 months. I still have oil in my eye.
Avatar f tn My husband was diagnosed with glaucoma - don't know which 'type'...he's 75...as of tonite he's going to be using Lumigan, 1 drop nightly and tomorrow the ophalmologist will run required tests. We've known this physician for years and have complete trust in him.
