Lumigan lashes

Common Questions and Answers about Lumigan lashes

lumigan

Avatar m tn So if people want to use the Lumigan drops instead of Latisse for whatever reason, lashes, etc and they don't have glaucoma, is it deemed safe to use? other than the known minor side effects that occur in some?
Avatar m tn regarding Lumigan and others like it, have people experienced growth of eyebrows and hair elsewhere as well like scalp hair? or is there good understanding of the active ingredients, that they can also help brows and scalp hair too? I am not only thinning fair eyelashes, but also fair hair and eyebrows and in my 40s with only slight graying. so has lumigan been studied long enough to know if fair skinned/hair people get similar darkening and lenghtening benefits?
Avatar f tn He were instructed to wash is eyes 3xs a day and apply eye ointment at bedtime. At the very outer edge he has a few about 10 lashes. Yesterday I counted the lower lid and he is down to 3. Please I hope someone can help our family.
Avatar f tn is there any other test besides that which indicates vision loss?i take lumigan once a night. for the past three years or so. I have only missed three times and let me tell youi remember those times how nice my eyes felt without the drops. no scratchy feeling, no tearing and especially very little red in my eyes. i almost felt that i looked normal. no one looking at my bloodshot eyes and commenting.
Avatar m tn also some people are born with an extra row of eyelashes this is called distachiasis , also some medications notably the glaucoma medicines latanoprost, lumigan and travitan-z causes eyelashs to grow exuberantly lastly small tumors on the eye or eyelid called dermoids can grown hairs. Trauma to the eyelid can cause lashes to grow the wrong way.
1775444 tn?1319258310 My eyelashes are short and sparse(want them to be really long, curly and strong). To make matters worse, they fall out, which drives me insane!!! I've big eyes but I 'd kill for beautiful, long, curly and attractive lashes that 'll make the guys crazy for me! I am 16. Do you think I can make my lashes grow long and beautiful?(I 'd hate "no" for an answer but please be honest!) If yes, how? HELP!!!
Avatar f tn hi am a trich sufferer. can i use normal lumigan eyedrops on my eyebrows, scalp and eyelashes? i dont have access to latisse.or is there any other medication that grows hair fast? can i use folligen? what are the adverse effects of using lumigan on eyes and eyebrows?
Avatar m tn Also beta blocker eye drops are not as strong, or as long lasting as lumigan and beta blockers do not work at night whereas lumigan does. If you had side effects on BB before you likely would again. So if lumigan once/day is working well why try something new that likely will not work as well.
Avatar f tn Hair loss is not a problem with glaucoma drops and in fact one group of drops (prostaglandin antilogs-Xalatan, Lumigan, Travitan-Z) actually grown hair. About 70% of people on these medications exhibit thicker longer lashes. The makers of Lumigan recently started to market the very same drops under the name Latisse for eyelash growth. I understand that they also looked into using it as a treatment for baldness but its too expensive to cover a large area like the scalp.
Avatar m tn I have taken Lumigan for open Angle Glaucoma for a couple of years in one eye only. In April the ophthalmologist asked me to put them in both eyes. I have no problems with that and my IOP is well controlled. However, I noticed my PVC's have gone up considerably since taken the drops. At first with only one eye I had about 15,000 per day, now with drops in both eyes they have gone up to almost 30,000 per day. There where no other medication changes during that time.
Avatar n tn I have pseudo-exfoliation in left eye. Started out on xalatan, then switched over to Lumigan when I was Glaucoma Suspect with ocular pressure 21-30. Under control low 20's on Lumigan, optic nerve healthy, no visual fields defects on test 5 months ago. However, last visit hemorrhage on optic nerve found and added Alpgagan P to Lumigan, did not do a thing after 6 weeks, pressure 24 today. Dr.
Avatar n tn So I was taken off of the glaucoma medication alphagan because it was not working well and caused severe dry eye and floaters and then I was put on and am currently on lumigan 0.01% that helps the pressure but makes the dry eye and floaters still a problem. For the uveitis I am on pred Forte 0.01% and has caused a slight cataracts. For my dry eye syndrome, I am allergic to most of the things prescribed to me so I take preservative-free over the counter refresh tears four to six times a day.
12845664 tn?1427483649 I am using Lumigan (bimatoprost) 0.01% nightly. Cost under my Medicare coverage is pretty high (deductible plus copay). Bimatoprost 0.03% is now available as a generic. What potential problems am I inviting by asking my ophthalmologist to switch prescriptions and start using the 0.03%?
Avatar n tn No difference. Ingredients the same. Generic much less expensive. If you tolerate generic use it as it will save a lot of time/money. Latonprost is generally very well tolerated. That cannot be said of "Lumigan" a brand name prescription drop in the same family. Zioptan will be ultra expensive.
Avatar n tn Azopt is a great medicine but sometimes expensive. Lumigan I really dislike because it causes red, inflammed, irritated eye, permanent dark circles around the eyelids and orbital fat atrophy with sunken in eyes and droopy lids way too often. Travatan-A is much better, longer acting, lowers IOP more and doesn't cause near the side effects of Lumigan.
Avatar m tn (I really need to re-quiz her on that) It is a shame, as it dramatically lowered my IOP - better than the Lumigan and Azopt I am on as well. I see from a more extensive web search that it is used very successfully after LASIK. as you mention, to improve halos and other aberrations in night driving, as it minimizes pupil dilation. Unfortunately for me, that same effect was not helpful, as I already have problems seeing in lower light, and the smaller pupil response wasn't a plus.
Avatar f tn It's been three weeks since I accidently yanked my upper lashes out with my eyelash curler and no trace of new growth. How long will it take for my lashes to grow back? Can I wear eyeliner to cover up the bald spot on my upper lid where there are no lashes?
Avatar m tn When I had the cataract in my other eye removed last year I was prescribed Lumigan drops (along with other drops) after surgery. I have green eyes and everything I read worried me about my eye changing color which fortunately didn't happen. I am scheduled to have the other eye done next month and after researching it appears the Timolol could be used instead and I would not have to be worried about eye color.
717272 tn?1277590780 I think typically the llama lashes last as long as normal lashes and then gradually fall out and are replaced with regular lashes as treatment ends. I, unfortunately, have bare spots where my lashes were and there are a few tiny thin hairs trying to grow instead of sturdy lashes. Not a cute look at all. :) I have had skin issues around my eyes from treatment since about the time my lashes fell out so I think part of the reason they fell out is from the skin issues.
Avatar n tn If your problem is lashes causing the redness then the problem is called trichiasis. Google that term. Sounds like you need to have an Eye MD physician removed the lashes.
276730 tn?1327962946 When I looked in the mirror I was so taken back I couldnt believe these lashes!! There better than Maybelline lashes but eash lash is going in the wrong direction??? Strange......... JD- Weird indeed crooked long lashes! Sorta funny I guess. Dont have a pasty face yet and Im going on week 19 wonder if I will get it. My hair is weird too fly away and going every which way too. And the weirdness continues..........
Avatar f tn About 2 months ago, I was taking off my eye makeup when I noticed that a clump of lashes was missing. I'm talking about 1 cm. at least. I'm really confused because I've been using Latisse now for about 3 months and have really nice, long, lush lashes, aside from the patch that fell out. I have no idea how it happened, except maybe I was rubbing too hard to remove my makeup.
Avatar f tn Even applying something like oil or petroleum jelly to lashes will help you to stop because it will make the lashes slippery and it will be more difficult for them to come out. The good part of all of this is that your lashes will grow back. You could consult the doctor if this persists. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar n tn What you may be referring to is people with very very mild glaucoma and very little money that are on expensive drops like Lumigan and Travatan Z in some cases with very careful monitoring may be able to use the drops once every two or three days. I think it not a good idea and don't do it in my practice. If there's a money problem I recommend selective laser trabeculoplasty.
Avatar n tn I also have a problem with my eyelashes falling out. It started with what looked like a small gap of no lashes, but now it is becoming quite noticeable. I'm not under stress. I don't wear eye makeup. I'm also not aware that I rub my eyes alot. This discussion is related to eyelashes falling out.
