1017213 tn?1301771273 The dr kept blaming it on eating fat stuff because my colestoral levels were high. But I was dieting and exercising! Then finially I got joint pain and went to a neurologist that then at last took a thyroid test and I was hypo. Every endio told me you lose weight when on thyroid replacement meds. My friend has. I however have to work at it hard! But it was possible for me. The joint pain I have is sjoergrens syndrome that sometimes goes hand in hand with hypo.

Avatar f tn I had 6x chemo treatments and 6 weeks of radiation. 12 years later I still suffer from chronic joint pain which becomes all over pain by the end of the day. I drag myself to work, and collapse on my bed after work. At times I wonder if it was worth the treatment, as I am so sore I am not able to do much. I take pain medication to get through the day. Have any other sufferers any advice re: new meds to treat the pain.
Avatar f tn Some kind of very low dose of estrogen or use of estrogen creme should be allowed to stop this pain. I know the doctors say NO ESTROGEN as the cancer will return. Well it may return on its own and I do not like to take this pain medication. What research says that we women must go totally against what God put into us? We are all still guinie pigs in this treatment or so it seems to me and I really get tired of having to think constantly about this cancer.
Avatar n tn I saw my gynecologist and she explained to me that the pain was due to the rise and fall of estrogen. My levels were low, but I was still producing estrogen during my cycle. I have had a hysterectomy, but I still have my ovaries. She suggested I take something like Estroven to keep an even level of estrogen in my system. I did not want to go on a low dose estrogen patch as she offered.
Avatar f tn It did relieve the hot flashes but I think it has also caused depression and joint pain (knees and feet). UGH! I just took it off and threw it away. NOT WORTH IT.
371473 tn?1198810190 I am 36 year old female. I have joint pain in both my hands and feet. I also feel tendon and surrounding tissues inflammation around joints. I am experiencing major stiffness in some of my joints in the morning - e.g right hand middle finger middle joint but not left one as much. My feet hurt especially after walking for longer than half an hour. Sometimes pain is worse when I walk and somtimes when I am resting. I am taking mobic and narcotics for pain which only sometimes help.
1931832 tn?1398880449 5 you are less likely to be experiencing symptoms associated with low estrogen. In the event that you have had both ovaries removed, hormone replacement is not warranted for treatment of knee pain. Consider seeing a rheumatologist being that you have been seen by an orthopedist.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar f tn My tests show I have low estrogen (also taking birth control pill), decreased cortisol in the morning and increased at night and elevated DHEA. I'm just baffled as to why I am sweating so much. Should I get treated for the estrogen or should they level out once my thyroid is fixed? I am taking natural supplements for my adrenals and might want to try HC but I have heard not so good stories about it. Are there natural adrenal meds or how should I go abouts treating it?
Avatar n tn Could it be your tamoxifen causing the joint pain? I took Arimidex for 6 months until joint pain started moving thoughout. Switched to Aromasin and the joint pain stopped. 18 month later now my hips are starting to hurt pretty regularily, will discuss with oncologist next visit. Basically blocking all the Estrogen is not a great thing for the joints.
Avatar f tn I have joint pain all over my body and my shoulders hurt when I left my arms up so high. I get a lot of numbness in my hand, sometime find it hard to stand as my feet get painfull.
Avatar m tn I was also experiencing increased thirst and frequent urination. I have suffered with on and off joint pain for many years. While at the endo, my blood sugar was tested as extremely low. I was told based on some results that my blood sugar was low over a long period of time and could indicate a pituitary tumor. I was skeptical but went home with an order for fasting blood word and a glucose meter. I tested over a two week period and never tested as low blood sugar during that time.
Avatar f tn Hormonal fluctuations gave me terrible migraines and weakness and i was getting all sorts of symptoms from low estrogen. I had it pre pregnancy all my life but it's exponentially worse now. With the suggestion of my previous endo i tried birth control pills. 1. Microgynon 20: fixed migraines but have me daily headaches, joint pain, dryness, and terrible mood swings and back pain (I'm still going to physio. Does low oestrogen cause back spams? ? Mine hasn't let go). 2.
Avatar f tn Also hormonal imbalance may trigger early complications like hot flashes, fatigue, insomnia, weight gain, urinary incontinence, joint pain, hair loss, loss of sexual desire and painful sexual intercourse, vaginal dryness, headaches and palpitations. Hysterectomy is often referred to as surgical menopause, as the person may experience menopause symptoms at an earlier stage.
Avatar f tn Another scenario when they use estrogen blockers is for someone who has a low-grade cancer and low volume disease. Low-grade cancers tend to be the most hormone receptor positive and people with that type of cancer have a good shot at it working for them when chemo does not. So for high grade cancers, the AI's are used like a bridge between chemos. If it works for you it can keep you off chemo as long as possible.
Avatar f tn Pregnancy can wreak havoc on your hormone balance, which could account for the joint pain. Estrogen softens ligaments and tendons in preparation for childbirth - it allowed the baby to pass through the pelvis easier. After two pregnancies in a pretty short time, it could be hour hormones are out of whack and causing menopausal type symptoms: hot flushes, sweats, irritability, difficult weight loss, etc. An endocrinologist might be the specialist to ask for.

Irritability (feeling nervous, inner tension, feeling aggressive) 7. Anxiety (inner restlessness, feeling panicky) 8.
Avatar f tn As Gimel stated the fact that your TSH is low I would agree points to central hypothyroidism. Joint pain is also associated with low thyroid, and for MEN, joint pain can be due to low estrogen. But I do not see that as a common symptom for low estrogen in women.
107366 tn?1305680375 But my doc wants to treat as if I do have Breast Cacer because of the relation to estrogen). But, I have noticed more and more pain the longer I take it. My ankles, legs, knees, arms and wrists get so stiff and sore, and I feel like I'm 90 when I try to get up. I have oral pain meds...Lortab...but I work full time, and it's hard to pop a pill and head out the door to drive an hour's commute. Any suggestions on how to manage the pain?
Avatar m tn That is too young for osteoarthritis. Do you have any other symptoms beside joint pain? Maybe fatigue, dizziness, blurred vision, anything.
