Avatar f tn yes, i agreed with the post above. losing weight is a combination of diet and exercise. you can't have one without the other. and definitely, do not skip any meals. that's a big no-no. make sure the food you're eating are healthy options such as lean meats, whole wheat, good fats (low-fat), and lots of fruits and veggies. remember, to lose 1 pound, you must burn or get rid of 3500 calories. it's recommended that a healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week.

Avatar f tn If you're losing weight unintentionally, you need to see your doctor. There are some very serious medical issues that cause weight loss/inability to gain. One is hyperthyroidism (over active thyroid). You need to have some simple thyroid function tests done... those are Free T3, Free T4 and TSH. Another is diabetes. Blood sugar tests are needed to diagnose that. Both of these conditions can be present for a while before symptoms show up, so you should get tested asap...

Avatar f tn If it helps you lose 1lb in a day it doesn't sound good. If it's possible for you to lose that much weight in a day there will be some serious compromises to your body. The least physically appealing is having tons of gross excess skin! Focus on losing weight at no more than 2 lbs a week. It's frustrating to take it that slow when you want such rapid results but I promise you it'll be worth it! You need to let your body adjust to the amount of calories you'll be taking in.
