Loestrin short period

Common Questions and Answers about Loestrin short period

loestrin

Avatar m tn The first month that I was on Lo Loestrin I got my period, very short and very light for about 2-3 days. This month I delayed my period by a week because I was going on vacation. So when it got to the placebo pill I just took a week of "active pills" from another pack. However, I just finished my placebo pills (inactive pills) for the month and I have not gotten my period.
Avatar n tn Hi! I'm traveling across the country to see my boyfriend this weekend, after not having seen him for two whole months. We're in a long distance relationship and we usually only get to see each other once a month for a few days at a time. Needless to say, this is a really special occasion for us! Unfortunately, my period is expected to arrive anywhere from Sunday through Tuesday, threatening to put a damper on some uh, plans!
Avatar f tn My last period I spotted 3 days before my period and my period was very light and short. Now I have been spotting 10 days before my scheduled period August 13. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex July 31st and August 2nd and after August 2nd is when the light brown spotting started. Could I be pregnant or is it just normal spotting??
Avatar m tn My main symptom was skipped periods and then after I got of the loestrin fe24 I got a period that lasted for months of just spotting. I didn't really have excessive hair or hair loss.
Avatar f tn I was on lo loestrin fe for about 10 days off and on because I either forgot, or I just couldn't take the side effects any longer. I got my period shortly after of course (2 weeks before it was due) that was last month. The husband and I have had unprotected sex, and I'm 4 days late. But on the first day I took a cheap pregnancy test and it was negative. Is this normal after such a short time on the pill, or should I test again?
Avatar f tn Hello, I've been on birth control since I was 15 (now 23) for ovarian cysts. About a year ago I switched pills from Loestrin 24 fe to Lo Loestrin 24 fe. Within the year I think I've had 2 periods (only lasting a day or so) and a few days of very light spotting. I do know this pill is the lowest dose of hormones you can have with a birth control pill. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn Hi. I used to take Loestrin 24. I had the real kind. But my period started early also. When I stopped taking them my period was very late (by 2 months). All of this is because your body has to adjust to the hormones in the pill.
Avatar n tn Im six days late for my period. Im on the birth control LoEstrin and my boyfriend and I use condoms so I didnt think I was pregnant. I took a test two days ago to be sure and it came out negative. Is there another reason that Im so late? Is it okay to be this late even on birth control? Could I actually be pregnant and the test was just a false negative?
Avatar f tn Hello. I am on my 3rd year of being on Loestrin 24 FE and in the first month or two I had the regular spotting and breakthrough bleeding. However, in the past couple of months I have experienced spotting and breakthrough bleeding all over again and that is not normal for me. What could be going on? I take my pill at the same time daily and there haven't been any changes of lifestyle.
Avatar f tn I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.
Avatar f tn Give her time to heal from the surgery and give Loestrin time to work. When Loestrin is used continuously to stop your period that is how pain is stopped.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever switched from Loestrin 24 to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo? Anybody ever gotten pregnant while on the "lo estrogen" pills? I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
Avatar f tn Thanks! I'm really trying to get this breakthrough bleeding under control, as it is very annoying. I feel like I can't live a normal life...that is why I went on the pill. The loestrin was great for my period (just spotting), but I would spot from day 14 on! I will start FemCon when I finish this pack. Thanks for your thoughts!
Avatar f tn I was on Loestrin birth control for about 8 years but I stop taking it in December so I thought it would take my body a long time to adjust back to a normal period but I had a period that lasted 10 days in January. Am I pregnant or could it be something else?
Avatar n tn My gf had not been on birth control for a year or more. She began taking Lo Loestrin Fe on Oct. 20, the first day of her period. The side effects (increased acne, severe anxiety and depression, emotional lability) were so severe for her that she decided to stop before the pack was done. I believe she took roughly 2 weeks and a few days of the pack (maybe 3 weeks total), then quit them because she was so miserable.
Avatar f tn I am now on Microgestin 1/20 Fe generic version of Loestrin. Anyway what does anyone know about this? Any major side effects I should be worried about...I was reading that it causes bigger breast, weight gain, and low sex drive...is that true for anyone else who has taken it?
Avatar f tn I started the birth control le loestrin fe at the beginning of August (but I didn't wait until after my period came to begin taking the pills) I haven't had my period in those last four months. I had some weird symptoms like nausea and breast tenderness and discharge from late September to late October but not so much anymore. Is it normal to miss your period for that long after starting birth control or specifically lo loestrin fe?
Avatar m tn I am just SO nervous that I am going to gain weight and my running will be negatively impacted on the lo loestrin fe. Does anyone know if lo loestrin fe causes any weight gain or does anyone have any positive/negative experience with it?
Avatar f tn I have never missed a pill, but I guess I could just be being paranoid. Loestrin gives me VERY VERY light periods anyway, and I've heard that even skipping a period on Loestrin is normal. I have taken my first inactive pill today so I guess I just need to wait it out instead of jumping the gun with paranoia. Thanks so much for your reply!
Avatar f tn It's normal to not get a period on lo loestrin fe. I take it also and don't get a period. The dosing is extremely low so it's not uncommon. I am mid cycle tho and having period like cramps- I don't know what's going on with that. You should take a pregnancy test.
Avatar n tn I've been on my bc (loestrin fe) for about 7 months now. I've never missed a pill but occasionally take it at a different time. Between 7:10 and 7:30. I know that that's alright but I go on and off with periods. Sometimes it starts with the white pills and sometimes the red and sometimes not at all. I also have bleeding during my second week for about 3 days. Is this normal? Could I be pregnant? Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn I have been on Loestrin for nearly a year now. I take it continuously so I do not get a period. This has stopped the endo pain. I'm hoping that it is also preserving my fertility until we are ready to try again. I do like Loestrin. I have had major depression and I feel fine on L. Sorry though no experience with Yaz. I think L is worth a try. It's different for everyone so you will only know by trying.
Avatar m tn It is common for periods to dwindle down to spotting or nothing at all after women have been on LoEstrin for awhile, so that is more likely to be the reason you did not have your period. You should find out though Good luck!
Avatar m tn It might be a good idea to get an ovulation test because not all women ovulate in the middle of their cycles. Some can ovulate right before or right after their periods. If you have a short period lasting only a couple of days there could be that window where you do ovulate and are not taking your pills. I hope this makes sense. It happened to my sister with both of her children. Very short periods and that 7 day window of no pills.
