Avatar n tn I had some flu blisters long time ago and left my lower lip with redness .what can I do to cure that?
Avatar m tn I also had to go frequently and afterwards I never felt finished. A few days later I got a cold sore near my lip and also three reddish sores on my penis. The sores (ulcers maybe?) sometimes have a slight yellowish discharge. One sore, near the tip, also has a few small raised bumps. Three weeks ago I went to the doctor. By then the pain was gone, but I still had the sores. The doctor did a urine analysis and said I had a mild urinary infection. I was prescribed 10 days of ciprofloxacin.
Avatar n tn For the past 10 years I have had really sensitive lips and have only been able to use one type of lip balm. As anything else - lip sticks of glosses give me little sores on my lips and cause them to puff up and get little scabs and peel contantly - i also get dry patches under my eyes and eye lids. When I visited a doctor they told me I may have an allergy to nail polish and an ingrediant in lip glosses/balms its also happens when I were nail polish.
Avatar n tn As for the sores inside the mouth, most sores inside the cheeks (as opposed to outside on the lip) are not herpes. Primary herpes is associated with high fever, swollen glands, and other symptoms you don't seem to have had. In other words, I don't think your symptoms are likely to have been herpes--probably just an unrelated virus. Best. Dr.
Avatar f tn Hello, From the symptoms the bump looks like cold sores but the small itchy bumps are less likely to be cold sores and can be due to allergic reaction, contact dermatitis. You need to get some investigations like sample from the sores to identify the virus, culture analysis, Tzanck smear, antigen and antibody studies and blood sampling for antibody studies done to confirm the diagnosis. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist.
Avatar m tn I am somewhat light skinned and that was my first real sun exposure that year. At the end of the last day there, at the hotel, I looked in the mirror and my lower lip had about 7 (size of a pin head) red spots that were oozing puss. I initially thought it was herpes. During, the next few weeks, I applied Abreva and Herpecin on my lips but it didn't clear up. I have never had any form of STD or lip problem prior to this occurrence.
Avatar f tn The medicine helped my sore throat but 3 days later the sores spread and were on my cheeck, gums, inside lip, and on the inside of my lower lip. It hurt to eat and swallow. It took another 3 days and they were gone. Since then every few weeks one or two will show up again in the exact same place on the top of my lower lip closest to the inside of my mouth. They are white/red (hard to see unless your infront of my face) and sometimes blends pretty close to the color of my lips.
Avatar f tn hi I keep getting these pimples every month above my upper lip first it showed rite under my nose and every month it has moved down half way on my lip and half way on the top of my lip and its very painful what exaclty is it
Avatar n tn Hello, From your symptoms herpes sores caused by HSV1 and bacterial infection needs to be ruled out. Pain, burning, tingling, or itching occurs at the infection site before the sores appear. Then clusters of blisters erupt which break down. You need to get some investigations like sample from the sores to identify the virus, culture analysis, Tzanck smear, antigen and antibody studies and blood sampling for antibody studies done to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Starting beginning of this year, I had a localized cluster of blister on my upper lip, and it disappeared one week later. But in another 5-6 days, I had another outbreak allover my lips, till now, I had it our break every week. Every time, going like feeling of sensitive, burning, then tiny blisters on the lips, yellow discharge and crust, then scalps on the lips, usually 1-2 days, it comes back again with same steps.
Avatar m tn Hello, It can be due to a cold sore or some bacterial sores if they are close to the lip line.
Avatar m tn I can only say that the area is swollen, and painful. I have a history of cold sores which led me to take the antibiotics I usually take when I get one, but the blemish has not decreased in size or intensity, but also has not gotten any worse.
1528482 tn?1302398168 Hello, From the symptoms it can be folliculitis if the bumps are found close to the lip line and can be cold sores if you had an infection due to HSV1. Pain, burning, tingling, or itching occurs at the infection site before the sores appear. Then clusters of blisters erupt which break down.
Avatar f tn Hello, It is very unlikely that these are cold sores because it is not showing the typical symptoms of cold sores. It can be due to allergic reaction or contact dermatitis or due to Fordyce spots. Fordyce spots are small yellowish-white granules on the inner surface and border of the lips. Treatment of Fordyce spots includes CO2 laser or electro desiccation, TCA chemical peels(temporary treatment),diathermy or laser vaporization.
Avatar m tn i have been researching online for hours and cant seem to find what it is. it doesn't seem to be cold sores. Can anyone please help in telling what it is and also in suggest a treatment.
Avatar m tn My mom had what looked like a fever blister on her lower lip. Problem is that it never went away!! Months later her bottom lip still looks bad and it has spread across her entire lower lip. It is painful and it scabs up and falls off over and over. She has been to the dermatologist several times, been on several antibiotics and has used lots of creams still nothing has helped!! Any advice would be very helpful!!!
Avatar f tn Hello, It looks less likely to be due to herpes or cold sores. Pain, burning, tingling, or itching occurs at the infection site before the sores appear. Then clusters of blisters erupt which break down. These bumps can be due to allergic reaction or contact dermatitis. Take some oral antihistaminic like Benadryl and apply some steroid cream after consulting a dermatologist. If the symptoms persist then get warts or other benign growths ruled out.
Avatar f tn Hello, Without examination confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be a canker sore. Canker sores are small shallow ulcers that appear in the mouth and often make eating and talking uncomfortable. Pain from a canker sore generally lessens in a few days and the sores usually heal without treatment in about a week or two. Avoid spicy or acidic foods during this time.
Avatar m tn it comes exactly 3-4 days before my periods.....is this correlated..? initially i thought it was Allergic reactions to a lip gloss....but last month i didn't use any lip product and i still got it.... its not painful...just tiny blisters that start on upper centre of lip and eventually move to the lower...subsides in 5-6 days... its very hot is the city i currently live in...is it the heat?? Help...im worried..what should i do?
Avatar n tn I don't know if I have selected the correct Topic Area here, for several weeks now I have had a couple of small rough patches on my upper lip and one on the lower lip. They are alomost invisible to the naked eye, but I am very aware of them if I touch them with my finger or tongue. They seem to be situated nearer to where the lip joins the normal skin (ie not inside the mouth). They are only slightly sore to the touch, and mostly I don't even think about them.
Avatar m tn About six months ago I noticed a small blister-like lump towards the outer edge of my lower lip. Within a couple of weeks it had become 3, all next to each other ...possibly a single long bump, hard to say for sure. Then about 2 months ago the corner of my mouth split when I was eating, but I put that down to eating a HUGE burger. Anyway, 2 weeks ago my lips got very dry and tiny white blisters appeared on my top lip, and it felt slightly swollen.

Avatar n tn He just had to get a shot last week b/c he had sores all over his belly from biting and scratching. Now he has a fat bottom lip. He had the same thing in February, got a shot and it went away. I read that fish based foods can cause allergies. He only eats chicken flavored food but I had just given him a salmon flavored treat a day or so before the lip flare up. Anyway, I know that the vet will not want to give him another steroid shot so soon after the other one.
Avatar m tn It started out as one small red bump off center on the bottom lip. I right away freak out and start searching things to do to get rid of it. I have had cold sores before since i was 6 or maybe even younger. Anyways i start putting ice on it and then i read about salt so i put salt on it and left it there. I wasn't even sure if it was a cold sore or not. Now I'm pretty sure its a scar but theres a red mark there and its been there for 3 months.
11538743 tn?1419151329 You address your posts to Doc--did you mean to get the Professional forum of Veterinarians??? That would be my suggestion, since we can not make diagnosis only suggestions and general opinions. So if a general , unprofessional opinion is ok with you here goes: The rodent ulcer begins with a yellow or pink smooth area and as it develops it becomes an Open sore or ulcer. My concern is this must be treated with a steroid , probably Depro-medrol injection or Prednisone pills.
Avatar f tn She said that she does not think that the cold sores that I have had are in fact cold sores. When I asked her what she thought they were she said she didn't know. I am certain they are cold sores. I have the tingling, itching, swelling, blistering, scabbing, etc. They are cold sores. Why would the test in November have come back negative? Would it have been a false negative or the antibodies were not yet present almost a year later or either? 2.
Avatar n tn Doctor, In the beginning of January, I had my first cold sore on my upper lip. I tried Abreva and it eventually went away after a week or so. About 7 weeks ago, I got a second cold sore at a different location. Since that date, and for every week following, I'd have a new sore appear as the old one was healing/gone....every 4-5 days almost like clockwork with no breaks in between. They rarely overlap in time frame (I think once?).
