1168718 tn?1464987135 had blisters all over and spiked a high fever, could not eat or drink for days etc. I had at least 20 cold sores in my mouth (roof of my mouth, gums, tongue throat), had them in my private area, in my nose. It was truly awful. Doctor had never seen anything like it, accept for infants. They tested me for HIV etc. because they thought I was immune compromised! (negatie). Well now I am immune compromised, and these pesky things are coming back.
Avatar n tn She has at least 2 blisters or sores on her bottom lip outside. She has 5-6 sores along the upper gum line and top lip and 4 on the bottom gum line and lip. Her tongue has swollen and turned white except for the spots that are raw and red. She is in constant pain and so far it has only gotten worse. She was on amooxil from sat to mon, we where told to use ambosol or oral gel. Also I made a homemde wash of maalox, benedril and water.
Avatar n tn All kisses I have been involved in have been a two way process! Unless he had obvious sores, I would'nt worry. Bear in mind there is a high chance you are already infected with oral HSV-1 anyway (but are asymptomatic). Not sure I would want to attend one of your New Years parties. Good luck.
Avatar f tn actually small children can transmit the virus in this manner. their immune systems aren't mature so they are much more easily infected with oral herpes than adults are. in this situation though, your son's cold sore is almost healed and is crusted so it's very unlikely that it'll result in hsv1 infection for his playmate. honestly I wouldn't worry about it it's that low of a risk.
Avatar n tn the only sign i think ive displayed are lip sores occasionally when im in the sun too long and only once a yr. any other info helpful w/ the kids would be great. as you can see we are a little worried for the kids sake. is there any real cure to rid us of herpes? and what is the difference and severity between type 1&2?
Avatar f tn Thank you, one more question is the virus in your saliva too and not only on your lip and when are you actually contagious...are you contagious before the tingle or is that the start of it being contagious. I'm pregnant and due in a couple weeks and now I'm nevous about it spreading.
Avatar n tn So I've reached the age of 30 and never had a cold sore My mother in law gets cold sores but my husband does not because we think she didnt get it until after she divorced his dad and moved away. This week we spent together and i noticed she had an outbreak. I have 2 kids who are 2 years and 6 months She was pretty careless even though I begged her not to kiss the babies or share drinks or food. My 2yo is at that age where she wants to get in everyone's face anyway.
Avatar f tn About 1/4 of children have hsv1 orally before they enter into kindergarten in the US. In some other countries it's far higher. for most kids - they get cold sores - if even that. It's not unusual to just have the initial symptoms with a new infection and then not get any other symptoms. Most kids with hsv1 orally don't even show symptoms. Did you have specific questions?
Avatar m tn about two months ago i woke up one morning with a swollen lip and a blister on my bottom lip, nothing like this has ever happened before. i did not experience any pain, burning, etc which i know are typically symptoms of cold sores. but my lips were unbelievably dry throughout. on about the 4th or 5th day it already settled and was almost gone, just the scab was there and some redness. but as that one was healing another blister appeared next to it. same process with the second one.
Avatar n tn It peels. The skin is thin. My lip is starting to develop a wrinkle in the spot. It's red, and when I have lip gloss on, it is not visible to the naked eye. I'm going to try exfoliating with salt and then using hydrogen peroxide and Abreva, but I do not think it is a cold sore. I'm going to the doctor today and will post again when they find out what it is. So glad to know I'm not the only one.
Avatar n tn I began researching into the symptoms and the ingredients in lip products, especially ones that commonly produced allergic reactions. With that knowledge in mind, I've tried many other balms these past months, including ones by Blistex and Kiss my Face. I'm even allergic to plain Chapstick. At first, I would not show any symptoms at all, but they would eventually show up within a few weeks, sometimes days.
Avatar m tn I have noticed that I am getting sores in the corners of my mouth. The skin breaks very easily and has been, for me, impossible to heal. Is this a side effect and if it is how can I treat it ? I have tried chapstick so it doesn't get irritated but it doesn't stop the sores from hurting. Any ideas ?
Avatar n tn Could this also be because I cannot stop constantly tonguing/inspecting them? I have also noticed a few of tiny white spots show up along my lower lip in the past few days. They are not noticeable when I try to point them out to others. They are definitely new, though a couple are gone now. Finally, I noticed an area of redness along lower right lip this morning, where I also swept off some white gunk. 1) what could have caused the redness with white stuff on my lips?
Avatar f tn It is mostly on the mucus membrane slightly inside the lip, but it is on the border of my actual lip. I would like more input as to whether or not reoccurring herpes outbreaks can appear in another location, such as on a different lip, years after outbreaks have reoccured somewhere else? I am really terrified here. I have to wait until next week for a dermatologist appt. and an OB appt.
Avatar f tn The store had not been opened long and it was the am. 2. How long does hsv-1 live in lip gloss at room temperature?
Avatar n tn Hi over the weekend i hooked up with a friend of mine who i know get's cold sores from time to time. I didnt notice any outbreaks at the time so i think the chances of contracting them are low. However, the next day i noticed what looked like a pimple on the top side of her upper lip. Nothing that looks like a cold sore. What are my chances from contracting HSV1 from this exposure. I have tested negative in the past for hsv1 and 2.
Avatar m tn She's never to our knowledge had genital sores. So here's the thing. Two years ago we were living in Mexico (back in UK now) and my partner as well as my 3 going on 4 year old daughter (2 at the time) developed oral sores which they were told were herpes by a doctor (no test was done). These were accompanied by a fever for my little girl and all went away over some days. Here's the odd bit.
4333925 tn?1359106042 Generally, they heal within 2 weeks. Canker sores range in size from an eighth of an inch wide in mild cases to more than an inch wide in severe cases. Severe canker sores may leave scars. Fever is rare, and the sores are rarely associated with other diseases. Usually a person will have only one or a few canker sores at a time. Most people have their first bout with canker sores between the ages of 10 and 20. Children as young as 2, however, may develop the condition.
Avatar m tn An important part of the context here is that you have just become aware of his cold sores but have been in a relationship with your partner for quite a while. Thus it is likely that yesterday was in no way he first instance in which you have been exposed to his infection.
Avatar f tn I only have one little dot on my had and lots of sores in my mouth. It is just a virus that takes 7-10 days, no anibotics, it just has to run its course!
Avatar f tn I was not put to sleep and it was complete torture,I was in extreme pain.I have numbness in my chin and bottom lip,I was told nothing about this prior to them being pulled.I went back and told the surgeon about the numbness and he said it is from the nerves and you will regain your feeling back up to 6 months.
Avatar n tn In the forty weeks+ I've followed this forum many people have mentioned magic mouthwash. I have found vanilla yogurt to be helpful with my mouth sores. They were only bad for me in the first couple of months of tx.I'm at week 40 of 48.Good luck.
Avatar f tn As though her eye is hurting. I cant see any change in her eye but am a bit worried. I know if children get herpes in their eyes it can blind them. Should I be worried? I have had genital herpes for 27 years and know a bit about it but not facially and also worry that her immunity may not be too good as she gets recurred herpes attacks and I know from experience this is more to do with immunity than it is about the virus itself. Any help appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar f tn We call it a sexually transmitted infection for good reason! We don't have that sort of contact with our children. In a household, everyone should have their own towel, washcloth , toothbrush, razor and body puff - for reasons far beyond herpes transmission. Very common germs can be easily transmitted through sharing those objects so each person having their own is important. As far as transmission through a towel - conditions have to be almost perfect in order for it to happen.
Avatar n tn It looks like someone busted her lip!! Please help I'm going to a different doctor in two days, for another oppinion.
Avatar n tn Hi This red blister is found in the inner lip or outer lip? If found in the inner lip, this may be a mucocele. Mucoceles are not symptomatic. They are blocked portions of salivary glands. They may range from tiny blisters to large ones. If found in the outer border, then fungal infections and herpetic infections have to be considered. I suggest that you refrain from picking on this. Do not apply any creams or lotions on the area as this will only aggravate the condition.
Avatar f tn Neck is still pretty dang stiff in the back though. same thing that happened before the lip sores. What could this be?
Avatar m tn My wife (girlfriend of 6 years, wife of 3) has always had cold sores on her lips. Early on in her relationship, I kissed her and we had a mini-freakout. Never turned into anything, so I haven't stopped from kissing her even during an outbreak. We've always been careful during oral sex but last night we finally slipped up. I hadn't noticed her cold sore yet and she had "forgotten" about it, before we knew it, the deed was done. So my question is...
Avatar f tn My friend told me the mass of tiny blisters that I thought was just a deveation of the cold sores I get after a highly stressful episode looked like empetigo. It is spreading up my nose and upper lip and further down my chin and on my neck today. Now I feel bumps on the roof of my mouth. Could this be the same thing? I've had a sore throat for 3 weeks and thought it was allergies. I also ate 2 mangos within the last week. Never eaten them before.
