Lexapro side effects blurred vision

Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro side effects blurred vision

Avatar f tn I took one dose of 80mg of geodon at night and the next am I was extremely sedated. I had blurred vision, slurred speech, body felt like it had lead in it. I stopped taking it, but after one week I still feel spacey and have tingling feeling in my hands and feet. Can this still be from the geodon since I had a strong reaction to it? I am worried that these symptoms are permanent.
Avatar f tn I am currently on 40mg of lexapro and my therapist prescribed 80mg of geodon once a day. I took the geodon one night and the next am I was extremely sedated. I had blurred vision, slurred speech and I felt like my body had lead in it and it was hard to move. I stopped taking it and after a week I still feel spacey and have some tingling in my hands and feet. Could I be having these feeling because I had such a strong reaction to the med? I am afraid these symptoms are permanent.
Avatar f tn You are on a low dose of Lexapro. And SSRI's have something called transient side effects. That means that they have *start up* side effects that you experience when you first start taking the medicine and then they get less and less as your body adjusts. More anxiety (which this kind of sounds like) is not uncommon. Maybe you can talk to your doctor about titrating up more slowly. He might have you take only 5mg to start and then move up to 10 in 2 weeks.
Avatar n tn · Very dry, sore, aching eyes · Brain zaps/shivers (mild) · Blurred vision · Constant Headaches (I took the maximum dose of Tylenol each day, 400 mg for about 6 weeks) · What I would call severe nausea (I took the maximum dose of Pepto-Bismol each day for about 6 weeks) · Trouble sleeping · Self-doubt and wondering if I would ever be normal again · Wanting to cry for no reason However, I made it through the difficult 6 weeks one day at a time.
Avatar n tn I've been off Lexapro for about two weeks now. The "Brain Zapping" and other side effects are gone except for depression. I didn't have depression when I first started having the other side effects. The depression came about a week later. Does this last long? I hope it is just a short term side effect of coming off lexapro and not how I'm going to feel without being on it.
Avatar n tn my heart is racing all the time and my mind won't stop worrying. Is this normal side effects? If so how long do I have to wait them out, I don't think I can last much longer, I feel worse than when I started but my doc says it should subside. Anyone have any experience with this that can help ease my mind? I have even started taking them every other day and am taking lorazapam to help the anxiety. Any advice please.................
Avatar n tn I have found that i just quit cold turkey about a week and a half ago. And oh my gosh the side effects!!!!!!!! Blurred vision...crankiness...upset stomach...much un-needed dizziness...the list goes on. My question for everyone is..how long do you think this will last? And has anyone who quit this medication with experienced weight gain finally lost the weight? how long did it take? and what did you do to get it off? any comments will be appreciated! thanks a lot!
Avatar n tn I am new to this forum and have just been prescribed Lexapro, but I am concerned about the side effects - I see that they are supposed to be less than Celexa. However, has anyone experience hair loss from Lexapro, I have from Prozac and am terrifed to try another anti-depressant although I know I really need it. Please someone help. Thanks.
Avatar n tn ) Last week, I read up on some of the potential side effects of taking Effexor, and blurry vision is one of them. So, I'm on my 3rd day of coming off the drug. I read that the Amino Acid, L-Theanine, which is an ingredient in Green Tea, works to keep the brain in an "Alpha Wave" state. This state is, Awake, but Relaxed. The other waves are as follows: Delta Wave = Deep Sleep, Theta Wave = Light Sleep, and Beta Wave = Awake, Excited.
Avatar n tn Is it like saying just taking longer birth control pills? What are the side effects? What are the benefits? Has FDA approved? Where i can search more about Yaz? Will it affect my future plan of having a healthy pregnancy? Also, i was told if i do want to get pregnant, i should wait 6 months after taking the birth control pills. is that true?

Avatar m tn Yes, the same doctor who never mentioned the side effects of Lexapro to me. So, I am naturally worried and have done a ton of research on Web Md and other sites. It seems that this medication either works great for you from day one or it is a complete nightmare with side effects worse then your initial Anxiety. Naseau, Brain Zaps,, High Blood Pressure, Sand Shakes? and blurred vision are common in the 248 posts I read on Web Md.
Avatar n tn Compared to the other ssris, it probably has fewer side effects, but since these effects are all individual, you won't be able to predict them based on other's experiences. Prozac does appear to be the easiest to stop taking and seems to cause the least weight gain, so those are positives. It's the best to start with to see if it works.
Avatar n tn (not this one) Okay, now, my concern is the effcts after STOPPING yasmin. I understand that all bc pills are different and so are we women as far as side effects go. I have read postings about women who stopped taking yasmin and have experienced the following: - anxiety, panic attacks, heart palpitations and fluttering - depression - excessive weight gain - hair loss *I already have a prob. with depression, anxiety and panic attacks, so I am currently on medication.
Avatar m tn It has very few side effects except, like most antihistamines, can cause dry mouth, blurred vision and drowsiness. It definitely causes drowsiness with me - and didn't seem to help at all so I don't thake that either. (And again - it ALSO can CAUSE dizziness! LOL) "When the balance system is damaged, it has little ability to repair itself.
Avatar n tn I had an even harder time finding a successful taper schedule that minimized the withdraw side effects. What little information I found was a tremendous help in getting me through this challenging time. The piece of mind that “what I was experiencing was normal” was priceless. My hope is that by writing this I will help someone through the difficult withdrawal process.
Avatar n tn I was driving home from work and began to feel like everything was moving too fast but I was sitting still. My vision became blurred and I began to be unable to focus. I feel like my car is not touching the road and I have no control. Medical History: Diagnosed w/fibromuscular dysplasia w/renal artery stenosis 7 years ago; gastric surgery 5 years ago;plastic surgery in July (breast reduction and tummy tuck; high blood pressure and I am hypoglecemic.
Avatar n tn I have a low tollerence for pills but NONE of the above caused any uncomfortable side effects or worry. I HOPE MY APPROACH HELPS AND AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVE DONE SOME HOMEWORK ON THIS ****. I AM MISERABLE TOO, WELL, WAS !
480448 tn?1426952138 ONE important thing to remember that I learned, and have never forgotten is that these two effects CANNOT exist without anxiety.....but that anxiety can exist without these sensations. Derealization is basically a change, an alteration in the PERCEPTION or experience of the external world....in other words...everything LOOKS very strange, very "unreal" (movie like, in my experiences). Depersonalization is a subjective experience of unreality of one's self. So the difference is...
Avatar n tn SHIVERS---- can't sleep my body is shivering so much DREAMS- crazy and wake you up every 5 minutes BLURRED VISION---- umhmm SLURRED SPEECH---- comes and goes PROCESSING PROBLEMS---- what did you say? what do you mean? not understanding what is being said to me or what is happening around me--- even the most SIMPLE THINGS--- this of course, comes and goes as well or else my writing this post right now would look like this hjasdhoaewh djnalkjdaiuh asdhaj ljakdm ed? !
237053 tn?1258832026 Anyways this may sound stupid, but I was curious if my symptoms could be any side effects of the Lexapro. Probably not, but just thought to ask anyways. Also someone mentioned that sometimes after having a spinal (as I did for my Csection) can sometimes produce similar symptoms such as pins and needles, pain and numbness.
344318 tn?1198537448 I have had MRI's, cat scans, blood work, X-rays and everything comes back normal. My symptoms are blurred vision, feeling that I'm about to lose consciousness, nervousness. I'm very irritable!! I need to know what's going on with me!!! I never knew or thought in a million years that anxiety could make a person feel this way. I have been put on Ativan(which is addictive) and it seems to help me very well.
Avatar f tn My humble and non-medical advice would be for BOTH of you to get back with your doctors and let them know what you are dealing with. Some of these symptoms may just be normal side effects of Lexapro, but some COULD be telling you that things aren't quite as they should be. I would feel much better if you both talked with your docs and figured out why you are having all these symptoms. PLEASE let us know, OK?
Avatar n tn i didnt tell her i im on medication.i also read that blurred vision is a rare side effect on prozac. now i m only on minitran(amitriptiline) 4.25 three times per day.i m on this drug 6 months now. probably it can take long till you find the best combination of drugs for depression.i have an appointment with my doc next week to see which one i ll start now.

389797 tn?1200693362 I also wonder if I may be having vision problems and seem to be light and color sensitive. I wear new prescription glasses (I got about the time this started) and have some blurred vision. I have suggested Habba and Dumping syndromes to my GI but have not been tested yet. He's ready to send me to Mayo or Iowa City. I am desperate. I have been away from my job on unpaid leave for over 4 weeks now. I am afraid to drive or leave the house for fear that I may soil myself in public.
540310 tn?1343627720 Tell your doctor about any unusual or bothersome side effects. Most side effects dissipate or go away completely after taking the medication for awhile. Don't be frightened by the list of side effects, you may not experience any, but this is a complete list of what might happen to some people. Start taking your lithium and if you have a real problem with it, call your doctor.
Avatar n tn I tried to take Wellbutrin myself and had awful side effects from it.. one of them was dizziness, headaches, heart racing.. I would call his doc tommorrow and stop the Wellbutrin.. there are other great anti depressants out there that do not cause this.. Cymbalta is one that helps many recovering from pill addiction as well as Lexapro.. a great site to research these kinds of meds is crazymeds.org they break down all the pros and cons of different meds and in a lingo you can understand..
