d take what he said to mean that you should start 1 new med then wait 1 week and then start the next new med. This way any side effects can be attributed more easily to the right medication. I don't think he meant stopping any meds. This is just my opinion on the matter. Why not call and ask?

Hello, I'm a 37 yr old male and who has suffered with anxiety for many years. About 2 years ago, I discontinued taking Lexapro (took for about 8 - 10 years) and have been debating taking it again to help with my anxiety. Last year I was diagnosed with an IRBBB/Incomplete Right Brundle Branch Block. I am concerned about Lexapro and it's cardiovascular side effects, especially QT Prolongation which is listed as a potential side effect.

i was on lexapro before and it worked fine for me then well i have been on 5mg lexapro to start and i need to go up to 10 but i always have side effects so im looking for the right time to move on up. Like... they said at 10mg there are very few side-effects and at 20mg there are noticeable side-effects. But, you obviously don't want to change the dose on your own, as this can be extremely dangerous! But, it would be worth talking to your doctor about if the side-effects don't go away fast enough. Although... most of the time... with SSRIs in general I find, it can take 2 to 4 weeks for side-effects to go away and then they're gone for good.

ok i have done some research for you and spoke to my friend who is a MD yes it is ok to mix the 2 there has been no proving side effects or any negative interactions other than sexual side effects such as (wanting sex less often) (harder to become aroused) etc

Hi, I am too experiences horrific effects from coming off 20mg Lexapro. But I can't take all the side effects anymore. I wish I knew what to do to stop the vertigo/dizziness but the only thing I can find on internet (but havent' tried yet) is a motion sickness tablet that contains a vestibular suppressant. Only thing I wanted to mention is that a friend/nutritionist has suggested I take SamE as an alternative to the Lexapro.

I know how low these are but I have never been able to tolerate any meds at higher doses without massive side effects. I did do pretty well on Wellbutrin xl and could do 300mg but I can't afford it anymore and the generic doesn't work.

I never experienced sexual side effects with Lexapro, but I have with other anxiety medications. I didn't like it one bit! So, when I stopped taking those particular meds, I am happy to say that all functions returned to normal :) If you are on Lexapro, there must be a reason (anxiety?) so I wouldn't recommend not being on anything. It takes a while for the side effects to go away. As your body adjusts the tiredness will fade. Contact your doctor on the headaches since starting cymbalta tho. Could be a problem side effect.

I also notice my muscles and joints ache and get fatigued very easily...i went from running 3 or 4 miles, to getting tired walking up the stairs...the medicine keeps my heart rate in check, but with consequences I really feel that the medicine is to blame...
