Im debating getting a second opinion because maybe this is BV? Or did the Levaquin perhaps give me a yeast infection?
These are my symptoms:
intense burning and itching
swollen and really red inner and outer labia
feels really raw in my vagina and labia
really really thick white discharge that turned yellow this AM after the first treatment
I was tested AGAIN for stds (including herpes), all came back negative. What should I do?
whitish discharge could also indicate a yeast infection would could delay your period. However, it could also be an early sign of pregnancy. If I were in your position I wuold wait one more week and take another test with first morning urine. If it is still negative and your period has not shown, contact your ob.

Hi. I have been experiencing some really disturbing set of symptoms. I was a healthy and happy 22 year old and now feel almost crippled. I have peripheral neurpathy, horrible anxiety, deppression, nausea, weight loss. I took Levaquin for a UTI infection in November 2009 and didn't have symptoms then. I also had a susequent yeast infection. Do anybody have any idea what could be causing thIs? Thank you and God Bless.
Flecainide is not a beta blocker. The interaction problem at hand is with the QT interval. Flecainide stretches out the QT interval and so do the abx, but put them together and it is much more than a simple 1+1 =2 effect- they actually potentiate each other. Whe I had a sinus infection this winter, they had to look hard for an abx to put me on to treat it. I don't think you have to WEAN off flec like a beta-blocker. They don't work the same way.
It has all the usual side affects. You are more likely to get a yeast infection from this one because it is much stronger. Is the white on your tonsils blisters or is it debris? If it is debris then you could have craters in your tonsils that are catching food in them and trapping it there. If this is the case, then the condition will only continue to worsen. You will start to taste the drainage and when you clean the craters out it will stink and taste bad.
Yes, before I became allergic to the stuff I did recall feeling quite a bit of joint pain with that class of medication. I used to take care of patients who were placed on levaquin for infection and noted that they would sometimes get what we nurses called "The Levaquin Shuffle". The affected patients would walk in a shuffle and complain of joint pain especially in the knees.
In my case, yes, the pain did go away after a bit.

t think I should take antibiotics before I see a dr because if I have a yeast infection, the levaquin or macrobid will make it worse. I wonder if I never had a UTI to begin with and it was always just a yeast infection. The discharge is white but like clearish white not opaque and not thick and not a bad smell. Handsfield I understand that Chlamydia is not transmitted orally so my fears were primarily GC since the Levaquin is a fluoroquinolone. After the Avelox, Flagy and 4 days of the Levaquin I resumed sex with my partner. She had the Bladder infection not long after that and was treated with Nitofuran, Flagyl, 750 mg per day x 6 days and Levaquin, 500 mg per day for 6 days...at the same time I was still on the Levaquin...

You should come clean with your wife and get her treated as well examined, and get yourself examined and treated simultaneously. You may not lose hope as the doctor would be able to help you considerably.
I had really bad urinary pain and they said I do not have bacteria in my urine (which is prob masked) and asked about STDs. I have a yeast infection from the antibiotics and am taking antifungal meds now and feel a little better. My question is if my ex did have something (which i'm still certain he didn't) would all of those antibiotics have killed whatever was in my body?
Levaquin made me very ill. I have lupus & was given Levaquin for a sinus infection. Big no no. Levaquin can & will give you autoimmune disease symptoms and I already had one. Trust me it is not worth it. After 6 pills my calf muscles began to cramp. Dr. says ibuprofen 600mg a day.. Well its been all downhill from there. I developed full body tendinitis,(couldn't walk) my joints & muscles swelled so bad my nerves were compressed.
The only thing that she has had was a yeast infection (first time 2 -3 years ago a day or 2 after haveing long sex in hot shower) went to the doc got a urinalis (sp) and came back with bacteria in it,the doctor didnt do a really good physical exam but the doc (she) said it sounded like a yeast infection and UTI gave her z pack and monistat 7 or 10 day she was fine she also complained of discharge.

Nothing helped except my dad sent me a broad spectrum antibiotics which were herbal and then the pain started to go down almost immediately. I was blown away. I unfortunately was left with a severe yeast infection of itchy crawlings skin that looks almost always inflamed and a leaky gut. From the levaquin, Bactrim etc. which I’m still dealing with to this day ;( no hope for that as whenever I eat sugar or alcohol my skin will crawl.
Levaquin a a pretty strong broad spectrum antibiotic. I was told it was effective against staff also, when I had a cut on my leg that wasn't healing. There is an article on webmd about leep and side effects. Type leep in the webmd search engine.
Crap I just had a long post and lost the whole thing .Levaquin was a life saver for me and really severe kidney and bladder infections .
Now I have no clue why they would put you on it unless he thought you had some infection .I will see if I can find any WD uses for it but I don't know of any right off .
I would call the doc in the morning and ask what part of wds is it supposed to help with or like pharma said was it a mistake of some kind ?? Let us know what you find out.
t even believe it was a kidney infection. So, to treat this infection, they put me on levaquin. Mind you that levaquin should not be used by a young adult, such as myself. I was put on a heavy dosage for a little over a month and suddenly began getting odd symptoms such as a knee swelling to to the size of a melon.
