Well, I had some issue in my ear, a little bit of pain and a feeling of fullness in right ear, may be some hearing loss as well but not sure. I went to an ENT who diagnosed that I have some infection in ear and gave Levaquin. I took it in the night and I don't remember if I slept immediately after that. Buy what I remember I woke up to a very scary morning. I felt extreme dizziness and spinning sensation. I was struggling to stand up from bed. I vomited and had nausea.

I am on Flecainide (50mg) for two years along with Cartia. I have an ear infection needing antibiotics (Levaquin. 500mg). The pharmacist said that these two meds are contraindicated. My cardiologist said to go off of Flecainide for 2 weeks while taking the Levaquin. The bad news is that I am scared to go off on a med that I have been taking for a long time.

Hello about 3 months ago I was prescribed Levaquin for an upper respirtory infection. Well I did experience the normal side effects listed online but then started getted ringing in my ears. I only had a few days left of the medication and didn't realize the ringing wouldn't go away since the doctor told me it was due to an ear infection. I have levaquin for an ear infection and I had two refills. So i just filled. them. Wouldn't it just make sense to take it to its completion?

They switched my ab to Levaquin 250 for 7 days. No change in the infection, still had diarrhea, joint pain and back pain. AB was switched to Levaquin 500 for 10 days and I honestly felt GREAT!! 3 - 4 days all symptoms came back so they put on Levaquin 250 again. I had to give a stool sample and get a colonscopy - which came back negative. The stool sample showed no bacteria so I stopped the Levaquin as tinging came back. I have gone down hill since.

This is really getting to me, I will go back to the ENT guy tomorrow. What do you think, is it likely the sinus infection moved to my ear tubes, should I try prednisone or steroid nose spray or both? Any ideas, other thoughts? It is difficult to explain all this to the Thai doctor with the language differences, but I will tell him for sure about the throat clearing that started 3 months ago and ear pain now.

Hello everyone. I have an ongoing sinus and ear infection. It is now trying to move into my lungs(bronchitis). I have had 2 rounds of Levaquin, an injection of Rocephin and dexamethazone and it is STILL not clearing up. I hated to take those antibiotics in the first place. They are always a LAST LAST resort for me. Probiotics have been taken for the issue these cause, but does anyone know of anything else I can try that will work.

I don't think Levaquin can be used to treat bacterial STD's (though I could be mistaken). Doxycycline (100 mg 2x per day for 7 days) can be used to treat effectively all sexually transmitted bacterial infections (Syphilis as well, but it would require 2 weeks on that treatment). But I don't think this is STD related. This could easily be due to something else. I had a similar problem which lasted several weeks while I was in London.

The symptoms usually, but do not always disappear. Mine lasted for nine months. And I foolishly requested the Levaquin myself! I am reminded of the Space Odysessy script where Hal the computer says: "I seem to be making a fee bad decisions lately". Curiously many people take Cipro without problems (a drug of the same class) but have no tolerance for Levaquin.

I was on 875 mg of amoxicillin for respritory infection then the day i finished that I was given levaquin for a sinus infection I got while I was on the amoxicillin and now I have an ear infection with discharge and bleeding and the sinus infection is not gone? Is it possible to get all these infections one right after the other while on these anibiotics?

I had the doctor I work for look at it and he said that he thought it was a staff infection. He gave me a topical to use. He asked me if I had any liver problems and said no. I am very hush hush about the hep c. When I answered that I did not have any liver problems he gave me 5 days worth of Levaquin. I don't know however if I should take it. I was on Levaquin for 10 days for a sinus infection. Have severe joint pain in both knees and shoulders. Hurts to walk, and cannot move my arms above my head. Stopped taking Levaquin on Monday and is now Wednesay and pain is still unbelievable. Does anyone know how long the pain will last and is there any way to get the pain to go away sooner? My doctor said I should feel better in a couple of days.

Thank you for responding to my question. It has been 12 days since I had root canal on #14. Took Cipro for 7 days. I'm still feeling lpain/discomfort on #14 and try not to chew on that side of mouth. How long does it for root canal to heal? Can and do root canal fail? What are symptoms of failed root canal. At the time of root canal Endodonist put temporary filled on crown. I have appoint with regular dentist for permanent filling in a week.

I need help please. My doctors had me on Levaquin for 4 years straight. I believe it's destroyed most of my immune system. Since being off Levaquin for the past few months, I have had chronic bronchitis and pneumonia since. My muscles and body is in agony. I now have to use oxygen all the time, day and night. The recovery times from surgeries are greatly extended now. I'm having another back surgery in a few weeks.

Thank you for your response. The only antibiotics I have had was a shot for an ear infection. I was suppose to take Levaquin for the ear ache but read all the side affects from taking it and flushed them down the toilet. Will all antibiotics cause you to not have a true result with the NAA test?

I took Tussionex for the first time at 11:00 pm after I took a Levaquin at 10:00 pm. I have bronchitis. I awoke suddenly from my sleep at 2:00 am and had no breath - and could not speak or call my husband although I was trying to say 'help'. I got my breath back after a minute or so and was pretty shaken up by this. I'm very tired but reluctant to go back to sleep if it happens again. I was pretty shaken up. Is this an allergic reaction or a side effect?

my 10 days would end on a sunday. so what should my decision be to go to them or not? They will probably send me to an Ear, Nose, and Throat (more time off work). My sinus infections go away by now and I have never needed more than augmentim. Note that the infection does respond to anti-biotics, but it did not totally go away after a month.

The selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) sertraline (ZOLOFT), widely prescribed for depression, has been associated with a decrease in the effect of levothyroxine. i take zolaft 100 mg daily. i still have testi pain and burning. i am now bieng treated with diflucan for 7 days for a yeast infection. should i be worried. do u think my ngu was wiped out.

Levaquin made me very ill. I have lupus & was given Levaquin for a sinus infection. Big no no. Levaquin can & will give you autoimmune disease symptoms and I already had one. Trust me it is not worth it. After 6 pills my calf muscles began to cramp. Dr. says ibuprofen 600mg a day.. Well its been all downhill from there. I developed full body tendinitis,(couldn't walk) my joints & muscles swelled so bad my nerves were compressed.

Levaquin isn't used in 90% of the country (if you mean the US) for gonorrhea, but it is used frequently for prostatitis. And no, gonorrhea wouldn't show up on a pap smear. It would, however, show up on an std test that the doc might have done along with the pap. You have a clear diagnosis of an infection in your prostate. I would go with that.

The prednisone and Medrol would reduce swelling, but would also suppress your immune system allowing an infection to get worse. Whatever infection you have, the antibiotics you have taken so far were insufficient to kill it. Try going back to your doctor and ask about getting some blood tests done for strep, staph (MRSA), meningitis, and any other possible tough-to-kill bugs your doctor might think of.

treated with doxycycline by end of june for 1 wk. started on avelox end of july for 1 wk. then given levaquin for a wk. by last wk doc said she didn't think was infection cause levaquin shoudl have killed anything, even though I was still having gobs of green phlegm coming down the back of my throat and out of my lungs. she sent me to the asthma and allergy clinic where i was tested for 27 diff allergies all negative for.

I FINISHED MY ANITBOTICS BUT THE LUMP DID NOT GO AWAY. THE SWELLING WENT DOWN. I HAD A FOLLOW UP WITH MY DOCTOR AND ASKED ABOUT THE LUMP. I DIDN'T REALLY GET AND ANSWER HE JUST PUT ME ON MORE ANITBOTICS. THIS TIME I AM ON 150MG CLEOCIN 4X A DAY FOR 10 DAYS.
