I took all 20 days, eventually recovered from the pneumonia but then suffered tendon pain primarily in my elbows and knees for 2 years. During the time I took the drug, I had a lot of muscle twitching. One year ago I started having random shooting pain that has progressed. Recently I saw my MD and she ordered several blood tests and MRI to look for MS and other peripheral neuropathy causes. All blood tests and the MRI were normal.
I got hit at once diagnosed with both hsv-2 and prostatits. It started 2 months ago. Extreme irriation sensitive tip of penis, and burning. Got tested for stds and came back hsv-2.
I then went on acyclovir for 2 weeks, pain still there. Went to urologist, said prostatits. Cipro for 2 weeks still in pain. Then switched to Levaquin for 10 days. While still on the cipro I began to feel mild muscle aches. After 4 days of Levaquin my muscle aches and joint pain increased.
After three weeks, he developed stomach aches and pains and the doctor told him to stop. Unfortunately he also developed the types of pains and muscle weakness you are describing. This was in January and it has been a year without it going away. Cipro is a VERY powerful antibiotic and there are boards on the internet that have many people complaining about their "Cipro poisoning". He had been on Cipro in the past for no more than 7 to 10 days with no side effects.
My husband was diagnosed with Bacterial Pneumonia and was prescribed Levaquin. He has been off the medication for about a week and a half and he is still experiencing phobic attacks in the morning. He wakes up in a panic and believes that he cannot breath. While he was taking the drug he experienced major confusion, anxiety, depression and dizziness. It was awful! He even experienced a very bad episode when he became abusive...and delusional.
They switched my ab to Levaquin 250 for 7 days. No change in the infection, still had diarrhea, joint pain and back pain. AB was switched to Levaquin 500 for 10 days and I honestly felt GREAT!! 3 - 4 days all symptoms came back so they put on Levaquin 250 again. I had to give a stool sample and get a colonscopy - which came back negative. The stool sample showed no bacteria so I stopped the Levaquin as tinging came back. I have gone down hill since.
With the leg problem that you feel like stretching them, it sounds like it could be "restless leg syndrome". This is usually treated with an antidepressant called amitriptyline.
With your arms aching too, you may have some form of arthritis.
Unfortunately as we get older, us unfortunate ones, start to feel aches and pains.
Ask your doctor about the restless leg syndrome. Pain relief and anti-inflammatories may help.
only takes my TSH levels, she said that is all she goes by so my TSH is normal at 1.44 and has went higher and lower but basically stays in that range. I have no idea why she is so reluctant on having me try T3. I will try to get in before Christmas again and have another talk with her. She doesn't think my symptoms have anything to do with my meds or thyroid removal. But I think it has everthing to do with it! Its very frustrating!!
My primary physician said I probably overdid the stretches and triggered a muscle rebound (contracting) problem. An MRI of my back was taken, showing osteoarthritis (which I've known about for years). In fact I've suffered from sciatica before but that was years ago and I've been mostly pain-free since then. Was sent for physical theraphy, which seemed to resolve the issue after 4-6 weeks of treatment.
A few days ago, I began experiencing muscle aches everywhere that I cannot explain through changes in exercise or activity. Is this my body adjusting to the medication and needing more Synthroid? Blood test next Friday for synthroid increase.

My doctor prescribed prednisone, Symbicort, and also wants to give me Levaquin. I am over 55 years old, and I also have pre-diabetes (6.0 A1C - and am on metformin), and high blood pressure being successfully treated via Benicar. Two nurse friends of mine are literally screaming at me to not take the Levaquin due to achilles muscle rupture tendencies (one is suffering personally from it at this time and has been for more than one year now).

Had an UTI and hence was put on levaquin. After the 8th day of taking levaquin, i had the problem of not able to swallow food.. Stopped levaquin and UTI went away. Since then, i had a feeling that something is stuck in throat and particularly at nites, i was not able to sleep properly. had mylanta and prilosec and the situation got improved.. doctor recommended aciphex and currently i am on that..

Hi Everyone, I came down with a mild flu roughly 11 weeks ago and have suffered with muscle and ligament pain from cramps, tightness and aches ever since granted it has improved since it began so that I'm not in constant pain all day like I was but I have muscles that since this whole thing started have pulled tight and remained that way, I get quick sharp pains usually in my legs and arms ( like the muscle is about to cramp but doesnt ) cramps on and off that leave my muscles sore particul

m still experiencing full body tendonitis, joint pain, muscle pain and weakness, tingling and burning sensations, stabbing pains, and more. The insomnia went away after about 6 weeks for me. I am a 36 year old female, and was very active and physically fit.
There are some great forums you can check out on Yahoo that will be helpful to you. All I can tell you is do not take any steroid that is prescribed to you, or it will make it worse.
