Side effects should dissipate after discontinuing/finishing the medication. Did you finish all the tablets? It's very important to take all the pills that are prescribed to you because 1) it will fully get rid of the infection 2) If you dont finish the tablets, the next time you take this med, it will not be as effective .My guess would be that maybe something else is going on that is not in relation to Levaquin or maybe you were allergic to the med???

Levaquin is an excellant ATB (Antibiotic). However like many medications it comes with some risks and side effects.

Levaquin has some terrible side effects besides tendon rupture. It was my own fault. I read about the side efects but I had a bad infection and insisted on that specific drug. My problems (muscle pain, tenderness, discomfort) lasted six months after I took the medication, but they did go away. Curiosly Cipro, which is of the same class of drugs, doesn't seem to cause any problems.
Good to see his symptoms improving. It could a side effect of levaquin, as this can cause swelling and pain in the joints, this is more so if he is prone for joint/tendon problems such as tendonitis and bursitis. It should resolve once the medication is stopped. Discuss these symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medication.

How during the course of it , i have difficulty in breathing and had dey theoat and mouth which i thought should be the normal side effects of the medication. However after completing the course of the drug , i felt nerve pain on my eyes , thighs , groin area , legs , arms. And muscles weakness.
Doctors run through many scans and could not find a problem with me. As i read on the net that cipro causing many adverse effects like permanent damage on the tendons , nerves , tissues.
, i go crazy, no sleep. shake in side and out , my heart beats so fast was so tired but there was no sleeping , when i finally did sleep had night terrors when i take steroids. i now only take them when it;s steroids or die. they also give me zanax and that helps. be careful and taper off the way the doctor wrote the scrip and call him or her and let them know ur side affects.
The PA told me to take it with food because it might make me sick but did not tell me about any other side effects. I want to know why the medical community is not made to go over all possible side effects with the patients before they are given the medication? If he had told me of the HORRIBLE effects I would never have taken it.

I got hit at once diagnosed with both hsv-2 and prostatits. It started 2 months ago. Extreme irriation sensitive tip of penis, and burning. Got tested for stds and came back hsv-2.
I then went on acyclovir for 2 weeks, pain still there. Went to urologist, said prostatits. Cipro for 2 weeks still in pain. Then switched to Levaquin for 10 days. While still on the cipro I began to feel mild muscle aches. After 4 days of Levaquin my muscle aches and joint pain increased.
J put out a blackbox warning a few years ago. However, I did not know of any side effects. Any comments or suggestions?

So after googling about mirena side effects i found your post about levaquin. I did not take levaquin but I took nearly 6 rounds of cipro several years ago. The infection I had was nor esponsive to it and no one would listen. I started having joint pain and brain zaps when I was on it and eventually I got SEPSIS. They gave me 4 more weeks of cipro to take home for that. It was awful. I felt like they were trying to kill me.
Tinnitus and the being off balance are two different symptoms. One is not causing the other. Have you read the side effects from Levaquin? There are quite alot, and I believe this drug has been "black boxed" in the USA. However, I am not so sure this caused your problems or your problems are unrelated to the Levaquin.
After discovering greenish discharge in my underwear in the morning, I went to my doctor who prescribed me the usual course of 1 g of Azithromycin and 1 400 mg of Cefixime for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. At first my symptoms lessened but later returned. I waited two weeks before seeing my doctor again who prescribed me the same medication. I did test positive for Chlamydia. Again the symptoms receded but again they returned.
I have been taking zoloft for 10 days now and I feel really anxious and nervous, I feel shortness of breath can anyone tell me if these are side effects and if they will go away. I don't know if I should stop taking it I just lost my insurance so I can't go back to the dr that prescribed them for me can anyone help me. Right now I'm also taking levaquin, and medrol and norvasc, enalapril. Can I still take my ativan for the anxiety. Any anwers will be greatly appreciated thank you.
