Avatar f tn I was doing a laser hair removal treatment (lightsheer diode laser) the therapist told me to cover my eye with my finger but clearly it wasn't enough, she zapped my eyelid and ever since then, my eye is red and sensitive to light but I can however still see, but I have had a constant headache. Going to see a specialist but cannot help but try to look for some more information or get advice. Can this be treated? Could my vision deteriorate? Or will it heal naturally with time?
Avatar m tn They form a depression or sunken area because of damage to the collagen, fat or other tissues below the skin. In such scars, apart from plastic surgery, laser resurfacing is also helpful. They can be safely and effectively resurfaced through the proper use of a high-energy, pulsed or scanned carbon dioxide (CO2) or Erbium-Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet (Er:YAG) laser.
Avatar n tn e. electrosurgery, C02 laser, PDL laser), that the PDL laser is likely the most innocuous? After having this thing for 2+ years and watching it slowly, but surely, grow and spread in its area, I've lose faith in the "wait and see" approach. Additionally, any method which involves damageing good skin (nitrogen/salicyclic acid) just makes the wart bigger.

Avatar n tn Hello, There are 5 types of laser hair removal systems. These include pulsed light, Nd YAG laser, diode laser. Alexanderite laser and ruby laser. This depends on the skin type and varies from patient to patient. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist for the skin type and then depending on that, laser hair removal can be decided.
Avatar f tn Hello, Treatment of burns depends upon the depth of injury from a burn. First-degree burns are the most shallow (superficial). They affect only the top layer of skin (epidermis). Second-degree burns extend into the middle layer of skin (dermis). Third-degree burns involve all three layers of skin. One medicine which has been advised by many dermatologists for scar diminishing is contractubex gel/cream. You can seek your dermatologist/surgeon’s opinion before using this cream.
Avatar m tn Otherwise you can go in for glycolic peals, laser treatments and pressure dressings. Severe scarrings may need skin grafting by a plastic surgeon. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn They affect only the top layer of skin (epidermis). Second-degree burns extend into the middle layer of skin (dermis). Third-degree burns involve all three layers of skin. Most superficial burns heal within about two weeks and don't usually leave a scarf. For these kind of burns; you can apply antibiotic cream such as silver sulfadiazine (Silvadene). It will prevent infection and help in fast healing.
Avatar f tn I have read somewhere or heard, can't remember, that sometimes the treatment triggers things you have, to become worse. Does this seem to include skin problems, even if the skin problem had resolved itself years ago? I understand many people get riba rash, I not referring to that.
Avatar n tn I wanted to know if you agree that one can receive this type of laser while on accutane and that the laser would not result with injury to the outer layer of skin. I have spoken to some others who had lasers and light chemical peels done throughout their treatment. But, I wanted a professional opinion on this matter.
Avatar f tn I had been prescribed a series of cortozone style creams (hydrozole, eleven and the like) for an unknown rash underneath my ears on both sides of my neck. I now have red skin which is so upsetting as I think it is telangiestica? I have tried everything I know…taking vitamin e c zinc b grapeseed extract, and applying rose hip oil calendula arnica, to NO EVAIL. I know laser may help but have also heard negatives with this. Avatar n tn Hi, Scars are areas of fibrous tissue that replace normal skin (or other tissue) after injury. A scar results from the biologic process of wound repair in the skin and other tissues of the body. Thus, scarring is a natural part of the healing process. With the exception of very minor lesions, every wound (e.g. after accident, disease, or surgery) results in some degree of scarring. Scar tissue is not identical to the tissue which it replaces and is usually of inferior functional quality.
Avatar m tn Are there any really effective (the price really doesn't matter for me at this point, as without healing my face my personal life is pretty much dead) treatments for long-term burns (I guess we are talking here about chemical burn, from the soap) I could buy or order from overseas? Something that recovers and renews the skin completely, including the deepest layers, no matter what harm has been done to it in the past?
Avatar n tn that's is most likely not skin cancer at all. it sounds like tinea versicolor possibly. google that term and look at the images. if that's what you have it is a fungal infection that is often times caught in tanning beds. that is absolutely not the only place people catch it, but common. and it is very very common on the chest and back. easily treatable. you'll need a prescription. skin cancer comes by way of scaly sores, weird bumps , lesions etc.

Avatar n tn I havent heard of a hemmheriod skin tage before.I have known other people with regular skin tags that looked like moles that had them removed. They didnt say it much.I guess if it's in the anal area it may be a bit more painful though.
Avatar m tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but from the symptoms it sounds like keloid scar.It results in an overgrowth of tissue at the site of a healed skin injury. Keloids are firm, rubbery lesions or shiny, fibrous nodules, and can vary from pink to flesh-colored or red to dark brown in color. They have the capability to hurt with a needle-like pain or to itch without warning.
Avatar n tn I am 44 years old, and have gone, in 2 weeks, from having 44 year old skin to skin of a 60 year old. Could someone please help? I'm very distressed.
Avatar f tn I tried to remove one with tweezers, and it was very tacky (as in sticky) and clearly goes deep under the skin. Part of it broke off but I could still see that the pore was plugged and a day or two later top of the plug was sticking out again. i can't find ANYTHING online that looks like it.
Avatar m tn it's not a stretchmark, it's deeper than my regular surface of skin, like it got scraped or dug out, but I swear there was no cut or injury like that. It seems to have just formed after this rashstayed a bit longer than expected.. I don't know what it is and I'd like to know if it can return to normal without surgery or laser. I had this weird red rash on the side of my armpits. It's going away slowly by using antibiotic creams.
Avatar m tn The treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. Apply hydroquinone cream on this scar and it should go away in a few days to months. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Moisturizers may even out the skin and keep the skin smooth. This may improve the appearance of the skin. I would not suggest that you apply any medicated creams on the area. If the symptoms persist, you would need to consult your doctor. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar f tn When lasers are used, a corneal shield is placed over the eye to prevent accidental injury to the retina. In addition the laser therapy, which is the first treatment of choice (because the overlying skin is not damaged), partial excision with surgery and transfer or skin flaps or grafts can also be successful depending on the size of the lesion.

Avatar m tn I scraped my nose about 3 months ago, and as a result of the injury the spot on my skin lost color and I haven't really seen any improvement after the first month. I'm getting really nervous that it's no longer healing. I have brown skin, and the spot the injury happened at is a pinkish reddish color, if i rub my nose it gets really red. How do I know whether this is a scar or its still healing? What can i do to make the skin brown again?
