Avatar m tn They form a depression or sunken area because of damage to the collagen, fat or other tissues below the skin. In such scars, apart from plastic surgery, laser resurfacing is also helpful. They can be safely and effectively resurfaced through the proper use of a high-energy, pulsed or scanned carbon dioxide (CO2) or Erbium-Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet (Er:YAG) laser.

Avatar n tn Hello, Stretch marks can appear when there is rapid stretching of the skin. It is common in rapid gaining or losing of weight, pregnancy, puberty, cushings syndrome and overuse of steroids. Creams containing alpha hydroxyl acids and retin-A are said to be useful in decreasing the stretch marks but the advertised antimarks creams have no proof of effectiveness. Eat healthy , nutritious food ,drink plenty of fluids and do moderate exercises.

Avatar n tn These treatments evaporate the first few layers (or even deeper) of damaged or pigmented skin to reveal fresh, even toned skin. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar n tn The skin did become lighter, but I was left with a circle mark on or you might say underneath the skin. The area is a little yellow in color, but the circular impression is what bothers me the most. I don't know if it's a burn mark or what they call demarcation lines, but I did want to know if there is any cream or treatment to fade or get rid of it. I've tried a series of glycolic peels, a medium peel, and the ruby laser.
Avatar m tn For as long as I can remember I have a had a red mark on the center bridge of my nose (since I was a very young, I'm 20 now). I'm not sure if its a birth mark or what but I can't figure out a way to get rid of it. It's not that noticeable but it would be nice to get rid of it if possible. I have tried methods which probably weren't that healthy such as picking at the skin and I have used face creams but it seems to be buried to deeply under the skin to affect anything.
Avatar n tn When the skin is traumatized, it can leave behind a brown mark with extra pigment. If the pigment is still there 4 years later, it probably won't go away on its own. There are creams you can buy without a prescription containing the bleaching agent hydroquinone. Doctors can prescribe stronger concentrations of this. They can also perform laser treatments. These are simple and not expensive. However, I'm not sure that either approach would make the mark disappear.
Avatar n tn The treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. Avoid picking, harsh scrubbing, and abrasive treatments unless prescribed by a dermatologist during this period.
Avatar f tn I use Bio oil and Raw African Shea Butter , Good stuff, Highly recommend it :-) & always take time to massage it into your skin for at least 5-10 minutes, don't just put it on.
Avatar n tn I have been looking all over the internet and can only find one thing that describes what I have and that is the friction mark. I am fairly active in my sexual life and think that may be why it is not healing. Please let me know what you think and if there is anything that I can do. I am posting a couple pictures of it.
Avatar f tn I have a baby 30 month old. She has a birth mark around her eyes. That area of skin is not getting colour. Can anyone guide me that what is thia and about the process to cure it.
454221 tn?1259449339 I personally believe that they are a combination of genetics (the natural elasticity of your skin) and creaming/stretching of the skin as preventing. I didnt get stretchmarks with my DD. My mother never got them either when she was pregnant with her three kids. Both of us though regularly used a 100% cocoa butter cream stick and rubbed in the cocoabutter and tried to pre-strech the skin by massaging/pulling. Was it genetics or the cocoa butter or a combination of both? Who knows....
953536 tn?1246348931 once my face got dry and came black mark there. how i can remove that black mark from my face.. before the black mark was not there. please give me a solution for this...
Avatar n tn i have them everywhere you can think of i don't i dont even feel proud of the achievement of losing all this weight.I'm considering laser for this but it cost so much money and some doctors think its not even worth it.
Avatar m tn Stretch marks or striae, are a form of scarring on the skin caused by tearing of the dermis. This could be due to rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth , weight gain or during rapid muscle growth. Stretch marks can appear anywhere on the body, especially in places where larger amounts of fat are stored such as the abdomen, breasts, upper arms, underarms, thighs (both inner and outer), hips, and buttocks. This includes the skin going to your groin but not your scrotum.
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough, but it can be due to hyperpigmentation of the skin. This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. Treatment involves hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. Pls discuss these options with your dermatologist before using them. Hope it helps.
Avatar n tn Cryosurgery using liquid nitrogen and laser are the main treatment modalities. Although there are many skin creams like hydroquinone and salicylic acid, but their use needs prescription .I would recommend a dermatologist’s consultation for this. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar m tn So 6 months later, it had faded a bit, but not much, so i decided to look into laser surgery. I had a session of ipl treatment, and it blistered / scabbed over, and then after 2 weeks of healing it was gone. But then a week after that the colour began to come back. So the session of ipl treatment had removed the raised element of it, but the colour had come back, but lighter (pink). It was still flushing red in showers etc.
Avatar n tn I'm a 17 y/o male with acne prone skin. When I was 13/14 a small brown mark appeared right between my eyebrows and it got bigger. This didn't bother me at first, but after a while I went to see a dermatologist just to see what it was, he said it was pigment or something and there was nothing he could do to get rid of it. I just just want to know if it IS possible to get rid of it ? or if not recommend something that will reduce the appearance of it.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thanks for query, It seems that it is stretch mark, If any insect bite is there this type of reddish mark is found. It may be fungal or bacterial infection caused to scratching.

872691 tn?1267413353 Hi there, my son is 15 months old, he was born with a red mark on his belly...which is not a birthmark. it looks just like a big red blood blister kinda-Maybe the size of a quarter and raised off the skin a little. My doctor told me the name of it but i can not remember it. He said it could take 5 years to go away. Then at his 15 month check up he said it could now take up to 10 years and that it could possably never go away.
Avatar m tn I can understand your concern for the mole/ mark near the urethral meatus. Since the mark appeared when you were 14 years of age and in 5 years it has grown very very little, it is unlikely to be anything sinister. Moreover you do not have any history of any sexual intercourse which rules out any STD like HPV wart or herpes sores. It is most likely to be a simple mole or nevi or a penile melanotic macule. Both of these are benign and do not pose any health risk.
Avatar n tn This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. Treatment involves hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids and laser treatment. Pls discuss these options with your dermatologist before using them as the skin of penis is very delicate. You can also apply vit E cream on this spot. I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.Warm regards.
