Avatar f tn The worst thing I did was go tanning after it had healed but I still had a bright red mark left from the sore. It is five months later and I still have the mark. I have had one laser treatment less than a week ago and I have already seen a pretty decent improvement. However I am still skeptical, all I really want to know is if there is any real chance that this mark will completely go away with or without treatment.(it is fairly small, flat, and red) thank you for all your help!
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough, but it can be due to hyperpigmentation of the skin. This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. Treatment involves hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. Pls discuss these options with your dermatologist before using them. Hope it helps.
Avatar m tn I would like to know if its possible to remove this mark using laser treatment, or any other type of treatment whatsoever, micro pigmentation tattooing, or anything that will make that area look like my natural skin color. If there needs to be a picture shown for this to be answered, i have no issues uploading it. Thanks for the Help, Sincerely.
Avatar n tn You cannot remove them at home. Cryosurgery using liquid nitrogen and laser are the main treatment modalities. Although there are many skin creams like hydroquinone and salicylic acid, but their use needs prescription .I would recommend a dermatologist’s consultation for this. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar f tn I have been getting dark blotches on my face, mostly on my cheeks and upper lip. They are darker than my skin color and are not going away. Not sure what they are, is it sun damage or something else. The discoloration on my upper lip is what bothers me the most. Please help!!
Avatar m tn Hence I sincerely suggest you to consult your dermatologist and discuss the option of the above said laser as laser treatment is required for complete clearance. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn a large dark, black mark appeared. I was wondering if there was any way to get rid of it, as I still have it. Avatar m tn Stretch marks or striae, are a form of scarring on the skin caused by tearing of the dermis. This could be due to rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth , weight gain or during rapid muscle growth. Stretch marks can appear anywhere on the body, especially in places where larger amounts of fat are stored such as the abdomen, breasts, upper arms, underarms, thighs (both inner and outer), hips, and buttocks. This includes the skin going to your groin but not your scrotum.
Avatar f tn s place, I now have a triangular shaped divet about the size of the head of a pin where the skin is missing and no longer flush with the rest of my skin above my top lip. The mark is now more pronounced and noticeable, dark like the color of my lips, and impossible to cover with makeup because of the hole in the skin. Will the skin ever grow back and what can I do about it now or in the future? Any suggestions? Thank you.
Avatar f tn I use Bio oil and Raw African Shea Butter , Good stuff, Highly recommend it :-) & always take time to massage it into your skin for at least 5-10 minutes, don't just put it on.

Avatar n tn I'm a 17 y/o male with acne prone skin. When I was 13/14 a small brown mark appeared right between my eyebrows and it got bigger. This didn't bother me at first, but after a while I went to see a dermatologist just to see what it was, he said it was pigment or something and there was nothing he could do to get rid of it. I just just want to know if it IS possible to get rid of it ? or if not recommend something that will reduce the appearance of it.

Avatar n tn Mr daughter's dentist noticed a mark on my 5 yr old daughter's nose & commented that she needs to see a plastic surgeon for laser treatment to remove it. She pushed on it & said that it blanched so her assumptions were right for this condition. What condition is this & how does it happen? Over the last month, it worsens but then seems to shrink back down but never goes away.
