Avatar f tn Hello, Soprano XL laser is considered one of the best techniques for laser hair removal of the armpit hair. Soprano XL is useful for everyone; both dark hair and light hair individuals and is painless and can used for large skin area like chest, armpits. I suggest you to discuss this with your doctor and then get it evaluated. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I wrote a few days ago about my husbands problems with his laser hair removal. Well we noticed that around one side of his lip where the folliculitis was the worst he has like a little knot under the skin. You can tell it is protruding just a little more than the other side of his mouth. It is not at all sore or warm to touch. Could this just be where he is healing and the fibrous tissue or whatever it is called has just formed a bundle under the skin?
Avatar f tn The skin under the hair seems to be lighter than the skin that has no hair. Is this b/c the skin without hair is still healing and will blend in eventually or is it going to stay this way. Also, this was the first treatment. Will hair grow back in these spots that have no hair. After this first laser treatment, my husbands face was full of scabs and was swollen (it looked like he had his wisdom teeth pulled out).

Avatar f tn I decided to receive laser hair removal on my face about a year and a half ago. The technician said that if I shaved I would get better results. Now I have all the little indentions as well as little while bumps from shaving my upper lip. They are extremely noticable, they told me they will go away with time and microdermabrasion. It has been some time and I have received about 8 microdermabrasion treatments.
Avatar f tn Hi, I recently received 1st and 2nd degree burns on my legs from laser hair removal. At first they were darkened scabs over the area now the scabs have fallen off and I am left with white track like marks all over my legs. I am very worried about scarring. I have very dark tanned skin but I have made sure to stay out of the sun and keep the areas covered. It has been three weeks now.
Avatar f tn I had laser hair removal 4 days ago. Just today i woke up and had puss balls(not sure what to call them) all over my chin and area of treatment. I dont know how to treat it other than wash my face twice a day. My face is also drying up. Can someone please help me. What can i do to help heal this faster?
Avatar f tn Hello, What you are having is irritated hair follicles and dermatitis after the laser treatment. Although a side effect of laser hair removal, it also means that the hair follicles have swelled from treatment. You should continue using the steroid cream and also moisturize the skin properly. But take care to use it in the proper amounts and schedule.
Avatar n tn Laser hair removal is a misnomer. It should be termed laser hair reduction. Multiple treatments are necessary because the treatment is only effective when the hair follicles are at a certain growth stage, and only a per cent of hairs in the treated area can be effectively eliminated at the time of laser therapy. You will obviously require additional treatment, but do not expect 100% reduction in hair growth.
Avatar m tn If I wanted to do laser hair removal, how many sessions would I have to do just for one area, or would it take only one?
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried out laser hair removal? on face or legs? I've heard its not only expensive but it also can leave a darker tone on the area treated...any insight about it???
Avatar n tn We are contemplating getting laser hair removal. We heard that getting laser done close to an opening on the body like navel, vagina, etc. there is a possibility of infertility. Is it true ?
Avatar f tn I do not want to explain to her why mommy is in there. I had my first Laser Hair Removal Treatment on the 27th of June, next appointment is August 2nd and this time they will use numbing cream!!! I'm worried that this will be ongoing for the rest of my life because of the PCOS. My question is has anyone gone through these treatments and if so what was your success do you still do touch ups?
Avatar n tn even my hubbie, he has never said anything to me about it but when we are getting it on I have to be very carfeul not to let him touch my face.. So enough is enough I am ready for laser hair removal. Does anyone know how much it might cost to have this done and how often do you have to go in for the "treatment"?
Avatar n tn Hi Doctor, I am a 27 year old caucasian male, and I am very close to scheduling a 4-session laser hair removal appointment to get the hair taken off my back and shoulders. I am a good candidate, as I have light skin and dark, coarse hair. The only thing really concerning me at this point is the potential long-term side effects - in particular, the possibility of the treatment causing skin cancer down the road.
Avatar f tn Will it be safe if i try to conceive within 3 days after i do a laser hair removal treatment? I read a lot about best avoiding it during pregnancy to be on the safe side but didn't find anything saying if it is safe few days prior to conception. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I had laser hair removal of underarms on 2/27--went off without a hitch. On 2/29, underarms began itching--no rashes noted. On 3/1, I developed a VERY itchy, red, puffy, warm/hot rash to left armpit, by the evening, it began popping up in my right armpit. on 3/3, I called cosmetic center-->MD suspected "laser burn" and wanted to eval. Doc said it was an "infection", was given topical ointment for itch & oral antibiotics.
Avatar f tn HI There, I had laser hair removal treatment carried out on my legs, underarms and bikini area 4 days ago. Whilst my underarms and bikini are healing well, I have broken out in an "acne" type rash which is itchy on my legs. I have been taking a piriton at night and piriteze during the day and also using sudocrem on my skin. Is there anything else that I can do to alleviate the itch, speed up the healing and prevent any scarring?
Avatar n tn I has laser hair removal July 17 2009 on my legs and was left with hypopigmentation. I want to know what I can do I have been so stressed. Please help me they are shaped like half circles all over the back, side and front of my legs.
Avatar m tn My mum and I have been recently getting laser hair removal done every 4-6 weeks. We are both on our 6th or so session. Both of us have responded well and nothing bad has happened. However, yesterday my mum went for her session and she came back with a lot of redness. She gets her neck, chin, cheeks and upper lip done and everything was very noticeably red. This has never happened before. There might be a little bit of redness/itchiness/soreness afterwards, but not to this extent.
Avatar f tn I had my first laser hair removal treatment 4 days ago. couple hrs after the treatment, i developed red bumps all over the treated area. I have NO idea what thats all about. why is this happening and what can i do about it? is this gonna happen everytime i get the treatment done? PLS HELP.
Avatar f tn Okay, this is really embarassing. I'm starting my first session of laser hair removal this weekend. I've never had it done, but as I'm very hairy, it's about time!!! ha ha! Has anyone had it before? And is it really effective? I have dark hair, so suppsedly I'm like the best candidate. The techs have been very adament about saying that they're not allowed to call it permanent, but they say that they're confident I'll love the results. All I really care about are the dark, nasty man hairs.
Avatar f tn A mild corticosteroid cream like dermacort will also help. Also you can go in for laser hair removal which causes permanent reduction of hair and does not cause folliculitis also. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
