363243 tn?1331037450 Hi coco727272, I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I am not African American, I am of Sicilian decent. I also have had problems with hursutism. I had something called laser hair removal on my face to remove upper lip hair, chin, neck and "sideburn" hair. It is really very effective and permanently removes hair as the laser kills the hair's root. You'll probably always have some hairs because you can grow new ones at any time in your life but it kills the hairs that are there.
Avatar n tn - Laser hair removal (long pulse yag laser works good) - there was a clinical experiment being done but do not kown what was the outcome clinical trial but laser has helped me ALOT. I have my doctor perscribe this treatment for me, although my insurance does not cover it but I have had Flex Account cover it. - As mentioned by other people change sweaty clothes, keep dry and wear only cotton.
363243 tn?1331037450 - hirsuitism (tried only several removal techniques; laser epilation gave satisfactory, though NOT permanent, results) - mild skin problems (tried mostly commercial products) - hair thinning and falling out (hair supplements, olive oil + castor oil homemade masks, massage; I got it cut rather short recently to strengthen the roots and hope to see good results in a few month time) - water retention, constipation, bloating, weight gain (specific diet and exercise) - depression (tough to deal wi
Avatar f tn they did a biopsy shortly after i did this post, and nothing specific came back. i've had it treated w/ medication (pills and topical) and also laser and it'll seem to look a little better for a few days but then i'm almost to square 1. it just will not seem to heal. just today they decided to do a second biopsy, because they also find it odd and worrisome. they did diagnose me with rosacea b/c in general i am very pink with capillaries close to the skin.
134578 tn?1546634665 Then after that, we face the situation of finding Basmati an indoor home where they won't care if he sheds like he invented cat hair, or pees on the wall. They love him at his (regular) vet, and once before I was hinted to by a tech that he would make a great clinic cat, but the vet this time didn't pick up the hint when I dropped it. At least if he were to live there, I could see him sometimes, and he'd be around people all day, which he also loves.
Avatar m tn i also found useful removing any light around the mirror so i can't see the pores. 2 - for my legs, i did the laser for permanent hair reduction. i am still doing the treatment so i still have some hair. however, because the treatment costs a few thousand dollars and if i pull my hair again it will make my hair growth back, i don't pull my legs' hair anymore. however, now i became obsessed with my split ends: i cut them with a scissor and i can't stop for hours. today i hide the scissor...

Avatar n tn Don't get laser prostate surgery no matter what. You will never ejaculate normally again. I hate it and would rather get up 50 times a night than have this. It's not worth it.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately there isn't a good description of what these "extended depth of focus" lenses do, so some people are confusing the Symfony with standard multifocal lenses. The issue is perhaps best illustrated by considering photographs. Sometimes you'll see a photograph where only 1 object in the picture is in focus, and the rest of the objects in the background at different distances are a bit blurry.
Avatar f tn That seems to help but I have to use it every day along with warm compresses and a cleansing routine or the blurry vision gets worse. She now wants to perform laser surgery on me for a slight astigmatism I have. She says this will help, they gave me glasses to try on with the way it should look after surgery. I can see clearer but still double vision and she doesn't know if that will go away.
Avatar f tn I found a book online called The Atlas of Craniomaxillofacial Osteosynthesis Its a medical book for sale and you can only see a couple pages, but from the index there was a whole chapter on plate removal due to immunologic response. Also.... Allergic reactions to metal implants: Influence of wear debris Properties of implant materials and particles.
Avatar n tn I wonder if laser hair removal is an option. At this point, I'd go for that if it would stop these painful lumps.
Avatar n tn I'm 26 now and I live in florida and it's HOT during summertime, so it's even worse when I sweat. I feel so self concious on the job, around other girlfriends and especially my boyfriend. I have tried EVERYTHING, including obsessively showering 2-3 times a day on the regular. My bras all stink and I'm so distraught. Some of the suggestions here are great!
Avatar f tn I then went and got Laser Hair removal done on my lower legs and since its been done I haven'rt had a single itch. The girl doing the laser treatment said my hair was growing back at an odd angle every time I shaved and it was causing the irritation and I made it worse by scratching. The relief when I got it done was unreal.
Avatar n tn Hello, I had a laparoscopy and ovary and tube removal in mid March and I am still having some pain by my navel incision and by the incision where the ovary was. I think healing takes awhile. Since it has only been a short time for you, I would say, try and be patient with your body.
Avatar f tn It also looked ugly and like another boob. My surgeon did an excellent job with the scar so far it looks okay. I would say if it hurts and you are concious about it have it removed. My sister also had both armpits done.
Avatar n tn Never let any ‘normal’ soaps, chemicals or solvents touch the hands - wear elastic/rubber gloves when in shower/bath (seal with tape around wrists), when applying things like hair products or after shave, and when doing the washing/cleaning. Wash hands in a dermatological chemical free handwash, and/or use special non-soap soaps.
Avatar n tn Keep badgering your doctor like I did and they might give you something stronger. I'd love to try the laser treatment or surgery, but I know those methods are only for extreme cases (or the rich kids!) I actually work in an STI clinic on reception (ironically!), and I can tell you now warts are the least problematic queries I have to deal with. It is a very tame STI with little to no health complications, compared to a lot of the other infections.
Avatar n tn I had to laugh at one person's description of being addicted to scratching them. That starts the whole cycle again because the scratching feels great. But of course the burning and throbbing starts again, along with the bleeding and fluid. I'll post again after using Zymox for a few days and let you know how it worked. In the mean time, I empathize will all of you and I feel better knowing that I'm not the only person with maddening itchy ears.
Avatar n tn My period is 10 days away and I just started itching again tonight. At first I thought it was because I used a hair-remover cream to remove hair around my pubic region, but the itching continued. I itch a lot before and during my period and it's painful once i scratch and have to go pee. I was scared but because I'm still a virgin, I knew there was no way it could be an STD... I'm wondering about the whole eczema thing though...
211940 tn?1267884866 I went to my Primary Physician who said it was a torn brachialis muscle. Since I was working at a 2nd job, I thought it might be job related so I went through the whole Workman's Comp issue. They sent me to 4 doctors who did nothing for me, finally the case was settled and my lawyer got most of the money, but I still have the pain. It is an extreme ache down to the bone, that is unbearable at night. Even with pain medicine and sleep aides, I get about 2-3 hours a night.

Avatar n tn Viagra helped when it came on the market. Retrogressive ejaculation followed in 2001; it may be as a result of damage done during removal of kidney-stone although doctors seem to disagree on this. Found blood when masturbating (but none in urine) earlier this year. Saw doctor and had pta test done. It was normal. I went though hell while waiting on result. I was almost sure I has cancer. The condition cleared up. It has now recurred and there seems to be more blood than the first time.
Avatar n tn It is a non-surgical fat removal procedure. The substances used in lipo-dissolve are standardized, although providers may use slightly different proportions of the two primary ingredients, which are phosphatidylcholine (PC) and deoxcycholate (DC). This procedure is only available through a physicians care with a treatment program. (Lipotropics) Three amino acids that are essential for the health of your liver.
Avatar n tn It is effecting my life and I can't do my job as well. Again, thank you all..it is sooo good to know that I am not alone. I pray for us all!
Avatar f tn I never really felt any better though and so the only thing that happened was that any time I told someone I did not feel good, they thought it was all in my head. Little by little, I lost muscle strength and became more and more fatigued. My hair started falling out, I had some joint pain, etc. all my lab work kept coming back normal, however, so no one thought anything was really wrong with me. This past January, I was under a tremendous amount of stress.
298579 tn?1192250448 Yet another woman here, relieved to find she's not alone. I've had the same symptoms since age 33, and I'm 53 now. Mine started when I had a botched laser cone biopsy of my cervix which left my cervix a mass of scar tissue. I always assumed that my pain had something to do with my screwed up cervix. My symptoms were so weird that I never mentioned them to my doctor. I've done a bunch of Google searches but never got the right one to get any information.
Avatar f tn I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is possible you will never gain feeling. I had a "average" removal of my wisdom teeth (impacted).. I stayed awake through the procedure( not a great idea) Next month it will be a year since I have have had any feeling in the right side of my tongue, and severe nerve damage over my entire bottom gums and my right upper face... nerves are weird...My days are a constant battle of pain and burning sensations...
