Avatar f tn I have a problem of unwanted hair at my upper lip i use to do threading in saloons but i feed- up with that threading.I heard that laser treatment is permanent cure for the unwanted hair. Avatar n tn I've been on the HCG injections for two months, and just within the last month I've noticed faster (and darker) hair growth on my upper lip AND also on my lower stomach. I have had laser hair removal on my lower stomach and now the hair is back as dark as it was after like the 2nd of 5 treatments. So something is doing it and nothing else has changed. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I was very self conscious about it growing up- for I couldn't find anything about girls with nipple hair. I actually had laser hair removal when I was 16, but it has all grown back which is unfortunate because it cost a lot! I still pluck when their long enough, but they do become ingrown and I end up having some scarring as well. My boyfriend never even noticed when we first got together, I couldn't believe it. It goes to show that men miss detail. It was a huge relief for me.
Avatar n tn I feel relieved knowing that I am not the only one. I have dark hair on my stomach, chin, the side of my face, upper lip. I shave from my belly button down and sometimes pluck because of ingrown hairs and bleach above my belly button. I also pluck the hairs on my chin and the side of my face and either wax or pluck above my lip. I have kept this a secret from my husband for 6 years now. It's very embarrising and now I am pregnant and my belly is making me very self concious.
Avatar n tn Years ago I lost a signigicant amount of weight due to an eating disorder. I had several side effects, including the development of facial hair. I plucked my facial hair, and inevitably this would later turn into a pimple where I plucked. It even seemed to spread like an infection. My solution? Weight gain, adequate sleep and eating enough fat. When I do get occasional hairs and pimples, I have found that HYDROGEN PEROXIDE works better than any acne treatment around.
211940 tn?1267884866 the doctor put me on celebrex but the side effects will scare the b-Jesus out of you. So I quit taking it, I have found very little relief and it is definately worse at night when I'm trying to sleep and can't find a position to get in where it doesn't hurt.
Avatar f tn A rash has formed that NEVER seems to go away. (I also do laser hair removal and that could irritate it, BUT, I have never had such a swollen, red lip) The last bump hurt when I touched it, it throbbed, itched, burned, tingled, this has been going on for weeks now. I pierced the bump, blood came out. I squeezed the bump it became bigger but never forms as a cold sore. I itched it and then kind of touched my lip on the side, a new bump formed there that itched and swelled up. STILL no leakage.
162948 tn?1205256292 I HATE Mirena! I must be the "rare" side effects group expect now I'm finding tons of people like me. After insertion, I bled for the first THREE months straight, which after a month I called the doctor and he said it sometimes happens. From then on it's been an on going mess. I will have a period then not again for a month or two, then twice in one month! I have to carry supplies with me all the time.
Avatar f tn Or if you want, try the laser option. I can recommend you to a colleague who does laser therapy for hair removal. But it is up to you really." She does bring up a valid argument....but I did what you did (research on Google) and apparently some women are at risk of hypotension after using Minoxidil, esp. with a dose as high as that. I do not know if this applies to the rest of the female population at large though.
363243 tn?1331037450 Hi coco727272, I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I am not African American, I am of Sicilian decent. I also have had problems with hursutism. I had something called laser hair removal on my face to remove upper lip hair, chin, neck and "sideburn" hair. It is really very effective and permanently removes hair as the laser kills the hair's root. You'll probably always have some hairs because you can grow new ones at any time in your life but it kills the hairs that are there.
Avatar n tn I get it all time and really have to exfoliate a lot, there are red dots that usually itch and are inflammed. I think laser hair removal is the only option to reduce the hair, but that is expensive and I doubt there are many studies that allow you to get it for free. I still am learning about this and am I trying to find anyone that has a similar condition to mine, but no luck and from all the observing and locker rooms I have been and travels. I have never found anyone with the same thing.
Avatar f tn I waxed my upper lip for a little while (which I wish I'd still be doing).. it all started just on my upper lip.. then once I was a senior in high school I noticed a large amount of long "peach fuzz" looking hair beginning on my neck.. I was mortified when I saw it. That was when I grabbed my razor and took it off. I also had side burns... more than normal I thought. And arm hair! I have the hair between my breasts.. down my belly.. just a mess.
Avatar f tn I still have to shave my upper lip and forearms daily and pluck chin hairs because I can't afford laser removal. A few years ago I had a total hysterectomy due to numerous fibroid tumors and a large cyst on the remaining ovary. I wish I had my medical records from '86 so I could say exactly what I had, but I just don't know. But it's nice to know I'm not alone.
Avatar n tn I dont get alot of the sweating, mostly my forehead and upper lip. Does anyone have any suggestions for anything over the counter. I have heard that soy works please help.
748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.
Avatar n tn on my vaginal more on the pubic hair i dont wear panties that often but now i see them simular symtoms on other parts of my body-------1 on my upper thigh like a boil, another was in the middle of my back and upper arm i even notice i had one come 1time on the side of my face, eyebrow and now i have a sore in the inside of ear like a blackhead/scab.
Avatar f tn however, multiple plaques are relatively common. Usually localized on the chin, cheeks, or neck, involvement of the upper lip is rare. The characteristic lesion is an inflammatory reddish nodule with pustules and draining sinuses on the surface. Hairs are loose or broken, and depilation is easy and painless. Pus-filled whitish masses involve the hair root and follicle. Over time, the surface of the indurated nodule is covered by exudate and crust.
Avatar m tn Steroid nasal sprays can also be prescribed, but the medical community is unsure of the possible side-effects of long-term use of steroid nasal sprays. Antihistamines and decongestants may help relieve some of the symptoms, but just a little bit. These drugs can also make your problem worse, by making the mucus even thicker in your head. If the antibiotics and other treatments aren’t effective, then surgery is sometimes recommended.
Avatar f tn Incidentally, the reason I was looking around was because I suffer with a reasonable crop of hair on my breasts, nipples and chest as a result of my hormone imbalance. I am trying to find out if I went for Laser hair removal - could this leave me more prone to cancer in this area or of the skin in the future?. Have you or has anyone heard anything? as there's not a lot to be found. Hi by the way!
Avatar n tn Specifically, find a dr that knows what it is. Don't wear tight clothes, get laser hair removal, stop smoking, lose weight, don't overdose on chocolates. For me it is like having zits in a gross place, but the scars don't go away. For some it is much more debilitating. Knock on wood. I don't know if I spelled it correctly but google will help. It ***** and the more of us the dr's know about, the less they will ignore, incorrectly diagnose, and fail to find cures for!
Avatar m tn But recently i picked on something in my mouth and it was then got infected and abcessed and i almost, according to the doc, if i waited one more day, would have lost part of my upper lip. To think i thought i was making myself look better and here i'm about to loose part of my look and be disfigured for life.
Avatar f tn Wow, I feel like Im looking in a mirror. I had upper and lower jaw surgery 3 years ago and my health has never been the same. I was given 4 plates and screws in the mandible and maxilla and got the same story about the bioavailability of titanium, but I question it. I have done some moderate research over the last few months and I found one excellent study about a very small percentage of patients having significant health systems since receiving Ti implants.
Avatar n tn I switched because I found I was having side effects within the past 6 months or so - same thing happened with my sister - no side effects until a couple years in... weird. What I was experiencing was night sweats occasionally (my sister was getting them every night - and couldn't handle it - so she went off) It was annoying but not bad. Then I noticed a decrease in sex drive, and a few other things that i feel may have been associated, but I'm not sure.
Avatar n tn If I had not gotten such thorough information, I think I would have been rather scared. I've never heard of the other side effects you mention. Good luck, I hope your experience improves.
Avatar n tn I wonder if laser hair removal is an option. At this point, I'd go for that if it would stop these painful lumps.
Avatar f tn They turn into nickel size swollen intensely itchy bumps that last weeks. They started on my right upper arm, then my left upper arm was attached. My right forearm was hit bad and now my left is covered in them. Sometimes they seem to form a line with a fairly equal distance between them. I also have been getting them on the tops of both feet and on my fingers/hands. They last about 2 weeks now.
Avatar n tn Except for maybe one thing that I found in almost all body, face and hand creams, and makeup and even hair conditioner that maybe our problem. It is called methylparaben, and it is and additive that is prevalent in most of our external products we all use daily. It has been banned in Europe and Canada but not in our own beloved USA! Shockig to say the least. I went to a web site called and typed in my favorite hand cream.
