Avatar f tn If the answer is yes, then LASIK will likely help your symptoms and give you good vision. Dr. Feldman Sandy T. Feldman, M.D., M.S.
Avatar f tn Dear pat31257, If the epiretinal membrane is evident and vision is reduced, a clinical diagnosis can be made to necessitate removal. However, if you are concerned, I would recommend that you seek a second opinon. Dr. Feldman Sandy T. Feldman, M.D., M.S.
Avatar f tn Hi Thank you for responding to my posting, I could not find much information r/g winkles or striae on the macula, after sugery, Is the surgery really risky, Is there anyway new lens will fix or change the problem at all, To describe the vision change in more detail, the surgery eye sees things thinner with alittle waveness to the edges, but I think the vision his around 50 with correction but I am not sure, I am drinking lots of carrot juice and wheat grass and started special eye vitmanis, a
Avatar n tn I did notice the gray area prior to the vitrectomy, after cataract removal on Nov. 11th. I can see no noticeable improvement in my vision during the 5 weeks, and it is really scaring me that the vision is so much worse.. I carefully took all the drops prescribed after the surgery and followed all directions (did not have to be face-down). The retinal specialist says the surgery went well and he doesn't know why the vision is so bad (he is worried too).
Avatar n tn Charles couldn't try ERM removal rather than go straight to ILM removal. However, the two ophthalmologists I saw this June here in CT both said the ERM was very thick and had enjoined itself to the ILM. Dr. Charles may've seen that on the OCT and felt no need to explain or expound on his opinion that ILM removal was necessary. Sadly, I failed to press Dr. Charles for more detailed answers on certain things.
Avatar n tn Had a PVD and multiple retina tears just shy of 7 months ago. After 3 rounds of laser over a 6 week period I was passed over to a retina surgeon at the local university teaching hospital who placed an encircling scleral buckle and did lots of cryo.
Avatar f tn I was told this was probably due to the scar tissue not allowing the lens to move properly and a simple YAG laser treatment after 3 months would most likely take care of the problem. At 3 months after my second surgery I was anxious to get the YAG laser done expecting my vision to improve. What a MISTAKE! The YAG laser treatment caused the lens in both eyes to shift and my vision took a dramatic turn for the worse.
Avatar n tn And in my case, my Blue Cross paid for everything!) Since you're highly myopic, you would either need laser vision correction or a clear lens exchange on your other eye. (My Blue Cross paid for that eye, too!) But please don't even consider multifocal/accommodating IOLs. They're just not designed for eyes with a less-then-perfect retina. If you do have the retinal surgery, get aspheric monofocal IOLs made of acrylic for best results post cataract surgery.
Avatar m tn Congratulations on your decision to proceed with the pucker surgery! The practice of doing cataract surgery at the same time is somewhat controversial. On the "pro" side, you will not have to anticipate having a second eye surgery sometime during the next year or two. On the "con" side, some surgeons (including Dr. Charles of Memphis who did my second ERM surgery) claim that the final visual outcome is better when the two surgeries are done at different times.
Avatar f tn I am undergoing surgery for the removal of axillary breast tissue under my right arm. The surgery is scheduled for 20 Aug 07. I was briefed throughly that the casuses could be hereditary, due to lactating, etc. I noticed mine shortly after nursing my youngest child (23 months) and it has been bothersome ever since. I have gone to the doctor so many times and they always tell me maybe it is my lympnodes or cancer.. I had a breast ultrasound done and there is no trace of cancer.
Avatar n tn I found the source of my pain...the posterior hardware (pedicle screws and rods). Surgical removal (09/07) of the hardware released that Lumbar triangle of pain. I still have some hip and knee pain which is a result of L4 and L3 bulging in reaction to the hardware and associated muscle tightness, but hope that over time it resolves itself. I took a risk, my Neurosurgeon gave me a 50/50 chance that my condition would improve or remain the same.
