Lamisil oral tablets

Common Questions and Answers about Lamisil oral tablets

lamisil

Avatar f tn It spread to the finger next to it. Doctor put me on lamisil tablets 250 mg. I have been on the medication for 11 days and it does not appear to be helping. The fungus has spread to other parts of my hand and even to the other hand. I called the doctor's office and nurse told me to give it 2 weeks. I can understand taking 2 weeks before seeing positive results but should the fungus be spreading during the first 11 days while on the medication?
Avatar n tn I have been diagnose with a skin fungus infection (dermamytocosis) and the dermatologist has prescribed Lamisil (terbinafine hydrochloride) very strong tablets with quite a few side effects. I would like to try natural alternatives like apple cider vinegar but could the infection spread out or perhaps can resolved by itself over time. Will I be prone to get fungus infections in the future?
Avatar n tn Is it normal for a fungal infection on the penis not to respond to lamisil for a week? Or should I just abandon the lamisil therapy and pay for a private dermatologist in the hope that they can determine what is actually causing this? Thanks, P.
Avatar m tn Did the doctor give him any tablets to take? There are a few options for oral medications that he might ask about. Other options that are different then Lamisil. I'd highly recommend he call the doctor and let the doctor know about the blood sugar issues so they can work on another treatment path that doesn't mess with that balance. Other wise, make sure he's staying hydrated, keeping an eye on the carb intake, and keep up with the treatment.
Avatar f tn I looked at the pictures and that's heavy toe fungus from the looks of it. I'm glad you are seeing your doctor. It can take months for it to go away. Oral medication such as terbinfine (brand names are Lamisil and Terbinex) are supposed to be effective. These are pills you take and not a cream like you've been using. Your doctor should be able to prescribe that? I'd ask them to. https://my.clevelandclinic.
1652119 tn?1301725969 m now switching over to oral Griesofulvin as the side effects of oral Terbinafine are pretty much unbearable (resembles a cold but with more sneezing ; at times I also get 'breathless' ie my mind feels that my breaths are not supplying O2 to my brain---wierd is'nt it ?).
Avatar m tn We I ordered a 14 day dose of Generic Lamisil tablets 250mg on line. Im 4 days in to the pills. I have been using the Lotrimin spray for jock itck. and i have had 80% improvement. I still have the larger red spots but im pretty shure they are ingrone hairs from the Lamisil cream. It causes some hairs to just pull out at the slightest tension. I have not tryed to do any work outside that would cause any sweating. I have pretty much just stayed inside.
Avatar f tn It is used to treat infections caused by fungus that affect the fingernails or toenails. Lamisil oral granules are used to treat a fungal infection of scalp hair follicles in children who are at least 4 years old. It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take it in larger amounts or for longer than recommended.
Avatar m tn I had unprotected oral sex with a person 2 days ago where i was receiving. I woke up 5 hours later to a rash of small red bumps on the head of my penis and inside my foreskin. Also, on the tip of my penis i have what looks like a white patch. Any ideas? I have no fever and as far as i can tell no swelling. The bumps are not itchy. I am currently applying Lamisil Spray( terbinfine) hoping it is a yeast infection. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn Immediately I started applying Lamisil (terbinafine) every morning till today. All the redness and everything else is gone, but if I look at the skin from the side, I can still see the "circles" (in slightly different skin tone) where the fungi was located... does it mean that I'll have to keep on applying the cream for longer till I don't see those circles?
Avatar m tn Clarythromycin 500 mg tablets and T3 Mycin for 2 weeks. Did not work. Then: Itraconazol 100 mg and Decozol cream for 2 weeks. Did not work. I am at a loss here, as you can imagine, I lose my trust in this doctor. What can this be? Can any doctor help me?
Avatar n tn My son is a competitive wrestler and picked up tinea corporis and tinea capitis about five weeks ago. Lamisil reduced, but couldn't completely clear the tinea corporis, so his pediatrician prescribed econzole nitrate cream which has pretty much killed it. However, the tinea capitis which started at his scalp line has migrated into his hair. Our pediatrician didn't feel comfortable prescribing oral medication, so we went to a dermatologist who gave him Griseofulvin.
Avatar f tn I went to the doctor and was told I had nail fungus and needed Lamisil. One tablet, once a day for 3 months. They took and ran tests of my blood to test my liver and they said all tests came back normal. They went ahead and said to begin taking the medication. I'm 21 and relatively healthy. I'm afraid to take Lamisil though. I've heard the side effects are horrible. Should I be worried?
Avatar n tn I had a fungal infection on 4 of my toenails. I treated them with oral Lamisil starting about 9 months ago. Two nails have been growing, one has grown completely out, the other two haven't seem to grown at all. Do I have any other options? Is it possible they are permanently damaged?
Avatar m tn So, I made a trip to CVS and bought some Lamisil. Well, it was awesome. I put on the cream and the itching went away, and flakyness went away too, but not the redness. Lamisil says only to use it for one week. But once I stopped, all the symptoms came back. So, I decided to disobey the directions and began to use it twice a day -- now for almost 3 months. Here is what is happening now. There is no more itching, nor more flaking (unless I stop for a day...
Avatar m tn She performed oral (no condom), then intercourse with condom. About a week later I noticed a red itchy patch on my scrotum. I also have pimple like bumps, which have always been there, but now some are itchy on penis and scrotum. I am also itchy on undercarriage and inner thigh. I used Canesten for jock itch for 2 wks with no luck. I'm now on Lamisil but starting to worry. The girl said she was checked for STDs recently and all negative.
Avatar f tn m hoping for opinions concerning a new drug my dermatologist has added. Prescribed Lamisil 250 mg for 24 wks, (oral). He is drawing liver profile labs every month. I guess I'm alittle worried since I just got rid of the virus in January, an this med. can possibly be rough on the liver. I have an extremely painful case of fungal nails for years. I'm not that vain, an would let them remove the nails permanently, but dr.
Avatar f tn You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral. Also wear cotton clothes and change the clothes twice. If the symptoms persist then oral antifungals may be needed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar m tn Since then I have had oral and vaginal infections. My doctor always prescribes terbafine (lamisil).
Avatar m tn Hello, Treatment of fungal infections involves topical and oral antifungal medicines. Most cases of fungal infections respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral. Also wear cotton clothes and try to keep the area as dry as possible.
Avatar m tn As I understand Lamisil is an antifungal cream. If you do not have a fungal problem, the Lamisil is not going to be doing anything. Natural yogurt for bruising and inflammation will help. It is a good idea for you to be examined by your doctor so that you can get the correct diagnosis. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Avatar n tn I tried lamisil cream for 4 weeks with only a slight improvement and then saw my GP. He prescribed ciclopirox which I used for 5 weeks with maybe 25-50% improvement, but it would occasionally flare and come back just as strong. Went back to the GP and he suggested maybe the fungus was almost gone and that it was more inflammation than anything. To be sure, he prescribed oral ketoconazole for 2 weeks and prescription hydrocortisone.
