Kidney stones zap

Common Questions and Answers about Kidney stones zap

1028300 tn?1252093974 I have kidney stones and will have to have a stint put in and changed every month. The Dr. said that I could have Kidney failure or contractions if I don't have the stint put in, but I've heard the stint is very painful, sometimes more painful than just having the kidney stone! He sent me home with phenegran and demerol, and said this would not hurt the baby. Does anyone have any experience/knowledge about kidney stones while pregnant?
Avatar f tn I have been going through medications for pain and even having ultrasound waves that zap kidney stones. I've had many x-rays and cat scans. My worries are what could happen if I am pregnant. It would only be maybe 2 weeks at the most I could be. Tests at the hospital were negative. But after having false negative tests in the past I can't help but worry.
Avatar n tn Basket stone, then zap it and pull out major parts or does it fragment to distant areas of kidney injuring area and to become seeds stuck as potential seeds for future stones which also won't pass. I now only have two stones, one smaller in upper area of kidney. Am tired of pain, family cannot tolerate me down with pain. Would flank removal be more prudent? Why or why not?
Avatar m tn I have had three past kidney stones that I had passed within one or two days. This one is going on two months. I have had two lipotripsys with sound shock and the first one had pain for a couple days which moved it down the ureta to the very bottom. However the stone cannot pass because this is the only place of the ureta that is smaller when it goes into the bladder.
168348 tn?1379360675 I'm not too well versed but if ok with my kidney stones (cannot take some supplements bcz I create calcium oxalate stones) I am willing to take something to help with the muscle cramps I am getting. It proceeded into a full blown charlie-horse in the calf this morning ..... any thoughts? I'm game to try something o-t-c! All my minerals, vitamins, etc., were good when tested in November with the Endo .. this also included 24hr urine study done by Urologist and all was normal then.
Avatar n tn However during the testing, 2 kidney stones showed. I since passed those - hoping that was the problem. I am still having the same kind of pains and nausea. The doctor wants me to have a Hida scan - however, I went to see another doctor who is running some blood and urine tests. I am just so frustrated and sick of this. I won't know anything until March 10th about everything. Does any of this sound familiar with anyone? I am so tired of feeling blah!
Avatar f tn First I would like to start by telling you I have suffered Kidney stones for over 30 years, on an average I pass 2 stones a month. Ok first off a 4mm stone or Any stone for that matter is NOT small! 50 - 50 chance of passing a 4mm. Now this whole ordeal is just not adding up. Lithotriposys are not a good thing as it leaves small fragments and dust like material taht will turn into MORE stones...personally I think they should ban them. The "back pain" is a def.
Avatar n tn For kidney stones there really is no Dr. prescribed medication to make it go away. If it is big enough they can zap it into smaller particles that can pass harmlessly in your urine or if it is small enough to pass on its own then they do nothing till it starts to pass then they give you pain killers cause it really hurts sometimes.
168348 tn?1379360675 Stings bad when I urinate .. I just cannot believe this (then again I can bcz the kidney stones react to stress big time I have seen the past 2 yrs I have had them) ........ what the heck .... if I have a UTI would they postpone the surgery if I wasn't on antibiotics I wonder. UGH. I have strong history of many UTI's due to stone fragments or debris passing ..... stones are too small to zap via ultrasound yet not large enough to cause really bad problems so they just stay there.
168348 tn?1379360675 I am allergic to Macrobid and resistant to most antibiotics as I get many UTI's due to a congenital condition I have that stones lodge deep inside the medullary ... called MSK (medullary sponge kidney) and if left untreated this UTI would progress into major kidney problems most likely as my UTI's are from stones with bacteria lodged deep inside the stone but stones too small to zap yet large enough to cause problems (4mm and under).
168348 tn?1379360675 I am a healthy 47 yr old woman with a strong history for other atypical cells in the way of moles that are not melanoma but atypical and re-excised to the margin, atypical colon polyp, and atypical urtethrial cells that are inflammatory in nature and not bladder/renal cancer (they are from many many kidney stones along with a condition known as MSK which is medullary sponge kidney and they are stuck in the medullary of the kidney ..
168348 tn?1379360675 It was so sweet my primary doc never told me about that blurb and also led me to believe I was stone-free when the CT Scan shows a 2mm mid pole still and for me that has to be followed as I have a tendency the rest of my life to form stones with an anomoly I was born with (long story called MSK or Medullary Sponge Kidney) where the urine pools and likelihood of stones forming in the sponges of the kidney is very high and potentially a pain in the but bcz of urinary tract infections stemming fr
Avatar n tn Finally going to sleep tonight but saw this topic. I started tx in march, had multiple uti kidney stones were found which has an affect on urine & bacteria, took two times to 'zap' them...yes it does hurt but not that bad and now I get to suffer with this hep c sx & kidney infections and a two day pee in jugs! so embarrassing, but water helps.... baths I was told can have germs in the tub... that can find their germy way where they are not suppose to be.
168348 tn?1379360675 Also, any thoughts/comments on the baby sized 2mm node which may potentially remain on the left side after 1/2 the thyroid is removed? ( (I have to laugh to myself bcz with all my kidney stones a 2mm sized stone may be felt if it moves . Wouldn't cause a serious problem but could cause some pain along the way LOL .. In the world of thyroids a 2mm node is considered not worrisome .. I guess bcz so slow growing???
379229 tn?1208643019 6 mos or so from a stone deep in the medullary of the kidney ..too small to zap but enough to cause problems. All I got from this one was some gravel and a gallbladder attack, too which is fully gone. I guess the culture revealed which antibiotic to take as the colony count was >100,000 .... ?? Yes, same one ... I feel fullness and having to go often again ..
5285867 tn?1365996892 The most common mistake people make is taking Calcium Carbonate. (It also causes Kidney stones) I used to have Cervical spinal stenosis and bone spurs in my neck. I found Ionic Fizz Calcium & Magnesium drink. It is the most absorbable form of calcium on the market. I began drinking it in 2005 and 6-8 mos later my stenosis and bone spurs were gone! I hope this info help you!
Avatar n tn however, in the presence of kidney or ureteral stones, stenting is ideally done during cystoscopy. Although ureteral stenting is undoubtedly an important procedure for the release of ureteral obstruction, the indications for stent insertion should be carefully considered in each patient. A stent can remain inside the ureter for about 3 months. In case the patient has severe bleeding or dispositioned stent or recurrent infections then change of stent or removal of stent can be considered.
Avatar m tn In the last 5 years my health has gone downhill-- First it started with my ovaries, it continued with my gallbladder, then chronic upper quadrant pain, appendix inflamation, recurrent uti and kidney infection, kidney stones, unspecified anemia, urine retention, high bp and heart rate. I'm only 32 and in the last 5 years I have had 3 surgery's.
Avatar n tn Two years ago my wife was diagnosed with a severe gallstone problem. Her ultrasound showed lots of stones the size of hazel nuts. One look at the utlrasound pics her doctor lifted the phone to call the hospital to check my wife in for early surgery. My wife had been reading Dr Clark's book for some time. She told her med doctor to hold that call. She came home and put herself through two liver cleanses. The second one, we both counted the huge stones that came out in the toilet.
Avatar n tn High anxiety/panic attacks, face flushing, sweating, my right side hurt (like I either had kidney stones or gall bladder stones - which I don't have either since I had an ultra sound), my bladder hurt (dr thought I had a UTI, which I didn't) and my right eye was really sore. I quit ct (which after reading, I probably shouldn't have) and am on almost two weeks. The first week was hell. Especially the panic attacks.
Avatar n tn My sister was shocked to hear what I observed. I had a bunch of kidney stones beofre, and I've seen tons of x-rays and everything else of my innards. I'm waiting for the packet to come from the GYN/oncologist. I have to fill things out. I also have to arrive 1/2 hour early for my Dr. appointment to register. I've never had to do that before.
Avatar n tn It is much stronger that diagnostic ultrasound. They have been using it to break up kidney stones for years. When they use an MRI machine to get very targeted the call it MRgFUC g=guided. This technology shows great potential for treating things in the future like inoperable brain cancer tumors. If we can zap those fibroids away with FUS it will be great but there are not enough places doing it yet.
Avatar n tn A boy and a girl. About half way through her pregnancy she had kidney stones so bad she needed surgery, while she was under the babies probably should have been sleeping also, but the dr said they were moving and wiggling like crazy, silly babies. (last part has nothing to with clomid LOL, i dont think its the cause of kidney stones.) She still has problems now with her kidneys one is actually fighting really hard to make it.
Avatar m tn I also passed MANY kidney stones--no cause Later on with years they diagnosed me with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Then I started to have more symptoms -I had a laparoscopy done and they saw scar tissue but nothing else. Once in awhile I would have episodes of soft bowel movements. Once I got married to my husband who is in the military-I could only see their physicians. They are knowledgeable in many areas but don't enough in them. Any ways, They said I needed Medimucel----crack heads!!!
Avatar n tn no AFIB since but plagued with PVCs ever since. Just had another 24 hr. holter, echo, etc., and all normal except showed 4,000+ PVCs - benign. So heart in good shape. I exercise daily, am 6'4" - 180 lbs., 52 yrs. old and am on Flecinade and a beta blocker. PVCs just seem to keep gradually getting worse(they're bad for a few weeks, not so bad for a few weeks, etc.) and now they're affecting my sleep and exercising (which really tees me off!).

Avatar n tn Thankfully does not seem to be addictive. Several others I know used the Phentermine and had severe kidney stones with extreme pain. I fortunetly did not. But stopped the use anyway. I was also advised by my Physician it can cause high blood pressure issues. Not worth the risks.
