Avatar f tn Hi I'm seventeen and still schooling. Im not really sure what i have. But i can feel something in my scrotum. Its small and round. Just to make it clear, i think its about the size of the metal part of a mico usb connector. Any idea what this could be. Because i thought Tescticular Microlithiasis caused tiny crystals.
Avatar n tn An abdominal Xray is used to look for kidney stones. Bacteria in the urine and flank pain can mean a kidney infection / pyelonephritis but this is usually treated with at least ten days of antibiotics . Your urine culture can direct your antibiotic treatment. I doubt they would have sent you home if they really thought you had an appendicitis. Gallstones can also be in the differential and can be ruled out with an ultrasound.
Avatar f tn I've not had a lot of issues with my uterus or kidney stones, yet. (knock on wood) I do seem to have bad cramps more than others do. I wonder what caused the developement of the kidney and uterus to go wrong though. Could it have been something to do with the mother or something hereditary or just one of those things that happen?
Avatar n tn Smoking certainly increases the risk of pancretic cancer, but there are more likely possibilities. Yes, gallstones and kidney stones are also possible. Given your description, I would suggest a right upper quadrant ultrasound to start, along with liver function tests. This is a pretty good workup for most gallbladder and liver diseases. If negative, a spiral CT scan without contrast can be considered to evaluate for kidney disease.
Avatar m tn Hi i have just registered on here as i have been having bad kidney episodes now for over 4 years the last two more frequent which i will get into. Avatar n tn 4 months ago I started having a burning sensation in my urethra after I would urinate and also having discharges. I sought treatment and was given a shot + pills for chlamydia and gonorhea. I gave a urinanalysis sample too. 2 weeks later, the discharge had stopped, but I still had the occasional cloudy urine plus the burning urethra. I went back to the clinic and was treated for the same symptoms with the same pills + shot again.
Avatar m tn I have been doing research on the subject and came across everything from kidney stones/infection to all sorts of horrible things. This pain seems to only be brought on by drinking and I'm wondering if this has anything to do with my body clearing out all the toxins from me smoking for years and a little alcohol is overworking my kidneys. I'm somewhat concerned about it however I am in college and can't really afford to go to the doctor unless I necessarily have to.
Avatar n tn It is possible that these symptoms are linked, but also very likely that they are not. Kidney pain usually suggests infection or kidney stones. Infection is serious, and would get quickly worse, and include fever, and other ill feelings. Kidney stones may cause stabbing pains or constant aches or both. The pain is worse if the stone is moving. You may also be chronically dehydrated. This would cause kidney pain, though probably less severe. It would also cause constipation.
Avatar m tn Not hard and no signs of kidney stones. I have no pain etc.
Avatar n tn Hi, This could be due to the operation, nerve damage, due to infection - gonorrhoea, chlamydia etc, diabetes or kidney stones. You should consult your doctor to rule out the above causes and find out the further management plan in your case. Regards.
Avatar m tn dialysis treatment, family history of the disease, high blood pressure. horseshoe kidney, polycystic kidney disease, smoking and von Hippel-Lindau disease. It is best that you discuss this with your attending physician and have additional diagnostic tests done such as abdominal CT scan, ultrasound, renal arteriography and blood tests. Avatar f tn Hello pen1217, From what you've stated here, your hubby definitely has several kidney stones, and in both kidneys too. I would think that you probably have mis written the size of one of those stones by stating it was 0.5 x 0.6cm, rather than mm. I could be wrong though. I'm pretty sure with the results of his ct scan and your hubby's brown urine, his Urologist will want to take some type of action rather quickly.
Avatar n tn Could there be causes for these symptoms other than a UTI or kidney stones? I'm very concerned, and I would very much like to know what is wrong with me. Thank you for your advice.

Avatar n tn The pain is not all the time, just every now and then. Can this be Kidney Stones? Just seeing what the possibilities are? She has a appointment in a week to see urologist, but is worried until then.
Avatar n tn An ultrasound of your kidney, ureter and bladder may actually help rule out any underlying structural abnormalities such as kidney stones.
Avatar f tn Make sure you are eating well, are moderately active, drinking lots of water, eating fruits and vegetables and not smoking and chewing tobacco anymore. People of you age group do get kidney stones, so if you continue to get belly/back pain check it out. Good luck and stay well.
Avatar m tn If it is a kidney problem with possible kidney stones, you will need to drink plenty regardless that you are going frequently going to empty your bladder. It is important to keep drinking and it is usually recommended to drink about 2 litres of water. Your doctor or urologist may advise you to drink a little more. But for now stick to the 4 pints a day. Keep off all fatty, fried, highly spiced, processed and junk foods. Cut down or cut out sugar foods like biscuits and cakes.
Avatar n tn I am 52 yrs old with problems with my bladder/right kidney for the last 3-4 mos. The pain is in 2 places. 1 in lower right kidney in back & also lower right front. the pain in front is a throbing pain at times. Dr. checked urine 3 mos ago & said there was blood in urine. I suggested it might be a stone, but ct showed no stones. After antibiotics and another medicine that turned my urine orangish, I started feeling a little better.
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. If gallbladder ejection fraction is below 35% is considered to be gallbladder dyskinesia. If there is gall bladder dyskinesia, you should be having fatty food intolerance and sometimes pain in the right upper quadrant if there is evidence of gall stones or inflammation of the gall bladder. The other causes could be gastritis, peptic ulcer disease and GERD. Disorders of the liver and colon could also cause pain.
Avatar n tn No. I think you need to be evaluated for kidney infection or kidney stones or bladder infection, but this sounds nothing like HPV.
Avatar n tn The character ,location and timing of the pain is necessary to give us an idea of the cause. Problems concerning the urinary tract like kidney stones, stones in the ureters ( tubes where the urine flows),bladder stones and infections may cause referred pain to nearby structures.Nerve related causes such as nerve compression may cause a burning shooting pain and may be associated with tingling sensation or numbness.
Avatar m tn I am not a doctor, just a patient with a lot of kidney stones and a mom who almost died from sepsis (blood poisoning) from a large stone she never knew she had. Keep us posted... I am not sure why they seem to be in denial about this ?

Avatar f tn It could be torsion/twisting of the ovary/tube area and this can be VERY serious, sometimes leading to emergency surgery. Other things mistaken for these pains are appendix or gall bladder attacks, kidney or gall stones.
Avatar f tn I have had Gallbladder removal and kidney stones really bad seven times in the hospitable. Oh and lets not forget a Csection That lead me to a addition of it for the last two years. I am not in pain any more praise God. I know that he has healed me but my mind and body have been addict to Vicodin. I have 5 years sober from alcoholism so it makes me so sad to be in this place right now. I never thought I would be here and it wasn't by choice. It's been a very long hard period of my life.
Avatar n tn Hi Thanks for writing to the forum! This could be due to referred pain of kidney stones, genital herpes, candidiasis, cancer of penis, disorders of the foreskin or balanitis. It could also be a STD. You need to consult an urologist for this. Also rule out diabetes as this does not allow any infection to heal (like in balanitis). If you are a smoker, then you need to give up smoking. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
