Common Questions and Answers about Kidney stones jump

Avatar n tn My father used to get kidney stones, too, so I think it simply runs in my family. Gosh, I really feel bad that you're having to deal with the cryo on top of everything else. It sounds like you've been through hell. What a raw deal. But as the information I printed above points out, the cryo will go away once the HCV is effectively treated. You're on the right path. Good luck with shot #3.
Avatar f tn She got pregnant had severe kidney stones for which she was hospitalized. They put in a pic line that somehow went into her heart. The first time they just pulled it back and the rapid heart rate stopped. The next morning her heart rate got up around 238. They ended up pulling out the pic but it was in the heart pumping morphine straight in for several hours. They had to inject a medicine that went to the heart to shock it from the inside to convert her heart back.
Avatar f tn I have had blood in my urine for 2 months now and I have had stomach cramps similar to menstrual cramps lately. I also have a history of kidney stones. I go next week for my cat scan and see if I have stones or something that may show up. I am worried but I always do, but this time I haven't been in pain like I was the other times I had stones it just seems different. I also worried about Bladder cancer or kidney cancer, but the symptoms doesn't exactly fit there either.
Avatar f tn im so sorry to possibly waste time here, but could some one please spare a moment to help. I had a bladder lift operation approx one year ago, during the surgery my left kidney was accidently knocked causing it to shut down. After x3 stents and 9 months in hospital it is now working. My problem is the pain im having in the kidney, which at times can reduce me to a mumbling wreck, i have been back to urology where i had the operation and gone through all the usual... wonderful...
1444601 tn?1305305623 The CT indicated at least 3 stones in lower pole calyx of left kidney and 4 small stones in lower pole calyx of right kidney. No obstruction in Kidneys or ureters. My urologist said we can't get those, pain meds are your only option. Does anyone out there know of other treatments?
Avatar n tn Is there a relationship between elevated PSA and kidney stones? I had a PSA level of 7.4 three months ago, with white blood cells present in urine analysis. 1 Year ago PSA level was 1.8. 50 year-old with no family history of stones or prostate issues. Last week diagnosed stones in both kidneys, enlarged right kidney, after sudden onset of pain. Positive for blood in urine. 4-5mm stones (3) Could this epossibly xplain the PSA jump?
Avatar f tn Hello, There can be many reasons for this back pain. It can e due to kidney infections or kidney stones, ureteric stones, pelvic inflammatory disease or gynecological causes like endometriosis or ovarian cysts. Very rarely nerve compression of the spinal nerves due to spinal problems like stenosis or herniattion may cause such problems.
Avatar m tn Creatinine level 0.96. Is the elevated (from 6 months ago) BUN level cause for concern and could it lead to kidney stones or worse?
1832268 tn?1326819610 We brought him home and did twice daily under skin fluids plus standard recommended meds and kidney diet. We then took him to a kidney specialist who was trying to determine at what stage of Kidney disease he was at. Got his levels down a little more a week little later, things were looking promising and his energy levels were increasing dramatically. Less than a week later, he completely stopped eating. Took him to specialist after 2 days of not eating.
Avatar m tn Is there any way processes leading to Kidney Stones could create such a mass on ultrasound? I'm not necessarily seeking 'nice' explanations for these symptoms, feel free to tell me whatever you think is most likely to be true, even if it isn't great news.
Avatar m tn (phew, rant over) As a result of any of yours, have you ever suffered from hydronephrosis? any kidney function loss? also have you had stones from both kidneys, or just one side inparticular?
Avatar m tn I just want everyone to know, if you start having unusual elevated blood pressure, get checked for kidney stones. I never really had bad stone pain during the 4 months that bugger was lodged in my ureter. Those are called "silent stones". Not all stones cause pain, and sometimes they can cause blockages and resulting elevation of blood pressure and eventually kidney damage. So don't settle for a doc just throwing pills at you to bring your blood pressure down.
Avatar n tn I have a parathyroid my doctor feels i need surgery i had a few kidney stones and the test show 9 points calcium and phosporus high also i have a underactive thryoid and my neck is swollen on the right side is that fatty tissue its loose.
Avatar f tn Hello! I was recently diagnosed with Medullary Sponge Kidney and have had conflicting information given to me from different doctors. Has anyone been put on a low oxalate/low sodium diet? I am having the hardest time figuring out what to eat and can't find much information out there. The nutritionist gave me a list of foods, but it isn't helping me with a "meal plan." Oh and I'm glad to have found this place!!!
Avatar m tn I've passed many stones thru the years but of different anotomy so I don't know .. but others may jump on and be able to help you .. is it possible in that area vs. the atual kidney in that it's moved down much further at this point??? You can also try to post on the Urology Expert or Kidney communties .... but we are happy to see you and hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn I passed it off as maybe just small stones, I'm 35 and I know that kidney stones happen, and went to work. While at my desk, I felt an awful pain in my sides and near what I'm guessing is my prostate. I got up to use the restroom to find that I was leaking a large amount of presumably Cowper's or prostate fluid along with more of the crystals/particles. That subsided after about 10 minutes, and the pain in my sides subsided. The pain in my prostate, however, has continued.
Avatar m tn An 86% jump in HEART DISEASE An alarming increase in BONE FRACTURES 2X more fatal PROSTATE CANCER Double the incidence of SUDDEN DEATH Not to mention serious increases in Joint Pain... Alzheimer's... Stroke... and even Obesity and Kidney Stones! This news comes straight from the hallowed halls of Harvard. Their ongoing Nurses' Health Study (started way back in 1976) discovered how calcium can actually WEAKEN bones.
Avatar f tn Hi, Do you have other symptoms such as back pain, difficulty or pain n urinating? Differentials for this include urinary tract infection, urethritis, kidney stones, or inflammation. The pain from passing a kidney stone is typically sharp and cramping. It may begin in the back and side where the kidneys are located. As the stone moves down the ureter the location of the pain may sometimes change. It is fairly common for persons to feel pain in the groin and testes.
635342 tn?1222729339 The only thing is in all my tests they don't see kidney stones, but I have blockage and obstruction again to my right kidney. Which doesn't make much sense to me if I have obstruction and blockage but no kidney stones? I was wondering if anyone else has the problem of people especially doctors believing that you are actually in severe pain? I went down to health services the other night at 5AM from severe pain and the doctor said so what do you want me to do if you have tylox?
242532 tn?1269553979 You feel down and temporarily defeated. You jump to the wrong conclusion and conclude that your medication isn’t working, ask to switch it, or add another or increase the dose, when instead you should be working on the frustrations that are creating addition internal tension. When this happens, patients often find themselves on too many medications with too many side effects, and too many changes. I see this all too often. It can be avoided.
168348 tn?1379360675 I'm not too well versed but if ok with my kidney stones (cannot take some supplements bcz I create calcium oxalate stones) I am willing to take something to help with the muscle cramps I am getting. It proceeded into a full blown charlie-horse in the calf this morning ..... any thoughts? I'm game to try something o-t-c! All my minerals, vitamins, etc., were good when tested in November with the Endo .. this also included 24hr urine study done by Urologist and all was normal then.
Avatar m tn Hello, Testicular pain can be due to injury, infection (Epididymitis or Orchitis) or inflammation, testicular torsion -- most common in young men between 10 and 20 years old, excessive bicycle riding, varicocele, hernia or kidney or ureteric stones. Considering your symptoms epididymitis or orchitis need to be ruled out. Get an evaluation done from a urologist to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar m tn Any chance you have a hernia? Kidney stones can cause this kind of pain as well. You also, believe it or not could have a hip injury or nerve issue in that area. Can you get to a doctor to get checked out?
563541 tn?1257881167 today-as most of you no last week i had surgry to remove some kidney stones...while i was in the hospital they removed 3 of the 5 stones and put in a stint so that i would be able to pass the other 2 at home....well i wasnt able to pass the other 2. so at my visit today the dr. prefromed lithotrispy to break up the remaining 2 and i was able to get those out FINALLY!! i still have a horrible infection but at least no more stones as of this moment! thank god!!!
Avatar n tn This takes too much calcium from the bones and dumps it in the bloodstream, causing kidney stones, constipation, heartburn, GERD, you name it! It is not a fun disease, but out of all the endocrine problems, it is the ONE to get, because a simple surgery fixes it. DO NOT LET A DOCTOR TELL YOU TO WAIT AND SEE!!! WAITING CAUSES OSTEOPEROSIS AND A HOST OF OTHER ISSUES! Do not just take vitamin D or calcium meds. More calcium actually makes the stones, etc worse.
Avatar n tn About 18 months ago, I had an adenoma on one of my parathyroid glands. I had been having a lot of kidney stones, and my serum calcium was too high. I researched info on the parathyroid, and it was my impression that although they surround the thyroid glad, they really don't have any thing to do with it.
Avatar f tn I am unsure as to what to do about the smaller kidney stones, but the doc that said you have small kidney stones needs to do further investigations into your kidney situation, retest you for urinary tract infection and kidney function. This is why you are having trouble urinating, and again contributes to your overall picture of being one sick puppy. With all these abnormalities in your guts, SOMEbody has got to get you straight and in a big hurry.
Avatar f tn Sounds to me like kidney stones babe! I had similar symptoms and bacteria that was unexplainable. Stones can carry their own bacteria. IT is quite painful when it causes the back-up of pee in your ureter or kidneys or the stones get stuck somewhere. Next time you are in there push for a ct scan most stones will show up! It is misserable believe me I know from experience! Good luck and hope the specialist can give you some answers.
Avatar f tn Do you have any stones that you know of? I ask bcz the stones can harbour the bacteria deep within the stone like a sponge itself . . . it is pourous. Has your Urologist talked about taking Cranberry supplements vs. antibiotics all the time .. mine is on the fence with the cranberry vs. low dose antibiotics bcz of the calcium oxalate stones I produce .. but luckily no more UTI's since my last stone passed. But, I, too have been plagued with UTI's my last one being STAPH of all things ..
