Avatar f tn Bed rest, hydration, analgesia, stent placement, percutaneous nephrostomy are the possible options. The size of stones, position of stones and your general health condition will help in deciding the exact treatment for you. Hope it helps. Take care and good luck!
Avatar f tn So I have been in and out of the hospital since Christmas with kidney stones on both sides, I am 31w+1d. First my option was to monitor it and hopefully they pass on their own, no luck so far an now my white blood count is high so they want to do surgery to put in to stents the drain the kidneys preventing inflammation an pain . The only thing is I will have to have them until the baby is born an then they will deal with the stones.
Avatar f tn I just had my first experience with kidney stones last week...and let me tell you, theyhurt like hell!! Ive read alot of moms saying that they said kidney stones feels just like child labor. Anyone else eexperience kidney stones who already had a baby?? Just curious!
409451 tn?1206900232 Endo and kidney stones can cause bladder problems however endo doesn't produce blood in your urine not that I have heard of anyway but don't quote me on that. Most cases when there is blood in your urine is when you have a uti or kidney stones. The next step for you since your pap came back normal and the fact that your dad had kidney stone problems, is ask your doc to do blood work and see if there is any abnormalities in your blood work that will show if your kidneys are functioning right.
Avatar n tn I've had cysteine kidney stones since I was 16, am now 23. I am also 9 weeks pregnant and I know while pregnant they can't do surgery. But, I have like 5-6 stones in my left side and my right side has some obstruction here lately I've been having a lot of pain, had worse, but still hurts. What options do I have to get rid of the pain while being pregnant? If anybody can help, please do.

Avatar m tn Calcium - too much calcium in the body Struvite - caused by frequent urinary infections Cystine - these are usually hereditary and very rare Uric - too much uric acid in the body So when you get your stone analysed and know which type it is, you will be able to in most cases avoid getting another one again. Which ever stone you have, it is important to keep well hydrated. Drinking 2-3 litres of water is normally recommend, but you may be advised by your doctor or urologist to drink more.
1979838 tn?1326235471 Trust me, everyone is miserable at the end of pregnancy! I was having kidney stones with my first pregnancy and ended up getting kidney surgery at 34wks so I spent my last 2 months recovering from a very painful condition and invasive surgery... and with my 2nd pregnancy, I was having a weird neurological problem (and heart problem) and I was actually going blind for several hours every day. So you want to talk about miserable, I can totally sympathize!
1194973 tn?1385507504 with my i was in labour with my son i had my labour in my back and it was so intense i couldn't walk flat on my feet i was on my tippy toes and the ride back to the hospital was the worst pain i had every felt (not trying to scare you) that was when i was 10cm and ready to push when i rang the Mw when i was in tears she told me i wasnt in labour to go and have a bath and well i was in labour rang her back in 2 mintues flat yelling I NEED TO PUSH AND MY BACK IS ACHING it took me 5 minutes to get
Avatar f tn I'm due to see a specialist in 2 weeks but I'd thought I'd ask to see if anyone had any experience with this. I'm 10 weeks pregnant and have a 10mm kidney stone lodged in my kidney. For now it's OK as long as it doesn't move but when I was roughly 2 weeks pregnant I had a 8mm stone removed that was stuck in my tract. The pain from that stone was worse than Labour (I'm not kidding) I'd rather deliver 15 babies than have another kidney stones.
Avatar f tn Hello MSKers! I am new to this support group! I have had surgeries, stints, numerous CT scans, ultrasounds, KUBs & more! I go to my doc every 6months or yearly, depending on my status of stones! I recently had my check up, July 2011, & there are several small stones in both of my kidneys. I know the drill...water, water & more water!!! I am an excellent water drinker, however, I sweat a lot & I rarely have to go to the bathroom! Therefore, my stones do not get flushed out...
Avatar f tn I'm 37+4 and I have kidney stones again.. First time I was 28weeks... The first time I had a kidney infection with it and it was throwing me into preterm labour, they kept me over night giving me antibiotics and iv fluids... I had over 8bags.. And I had pain meds! 199177 tn?1490502134 try drinking cranberry juice or tepid water with some fresh lemon juice in it to flush away the impurities as well.. I had a kidney stone when I was in labour 13 years ago.. was not an ideal time for it to play up.. anyway I gave birth to my daughter lolly and gave birth to the kidney stone - i did not name it..

Avatar f tn Hi Last Thursday night I all of a sudden came over in excruciating pain on my right side, lower back and abdomen. It felt like i was in labour. After sitting up A&E for 3 hours I was diagnosed as having kidney stones. I was sent away with Voltarol supositary and told to drink plenty of water. The pain has eased and is still in the same place but i find that it comes in waves now, so am taking pain killers.
338416 tn?1420049302 I get these wierd pains in my abdomen that I have actually gone to the hospital 4 times for before I was dx'd. I was scanned for everything from cysts to kidney stones with no answers. After I was dx'd my neuro said it was related to spine lesions. Last week I went to UCSF to see the specialist and he actually said that my pelvic/abdominal pain " predates my MS" and I should see a uroligist.
1791150 tn?1330132972 The next day doc came to see me and said they thought I had kidney stone as was in so much pain in left lower back and left lower abdomen....then they said there was no kidney stones on the x ray and that the pain I was still having must be like when someone is in the war and they lose a leg but still feel the leg even though it is no longer there . (I think he was trying to say I may have had a kidney stone that had passed already but I was still feeling the pain as if it was still there !
7878456 tn?1395006941 I am almost 21weeks and still have it had it with my first two boys right until I was in labour.
Avatar f tn I worry that you may have something similar and that you should have your gulbladder checked out especially since stones are more prevalent in women than in men. An ultrasound or CT scan is most likely in order. My pain is located mostly in the upper right quadrant of my abdomen and recently my palms have turned almost entirely red which was noticeable because I have always been so pale.
Avatar n tn Im 15-20 pounds over weight had hernia surgery at 2 and 12 and have had a few run ins with kidney stones so I had no idea where to begin with what might bew the cause. I feel it standing or sitting when it starts and the last few days it has been pretty constant. Wish there was a clear cut reason or two to ease my mind.
