Avatar f tn We are going to miss her so much and inhopebto see the signs that the time is right before she is in pain. Best of luck to you - kidney failure is awful in that by the time you see the signs it's too late!
1832268 tn?1326819610 My Yorkie was diagnosed with kidney failure in September 2014. She was in the hospital for 10 days (over $6,000) where they ran tests and found out that she developed kidney failure from eating chicken jerky treats. It is called Fanconi syndrome and the FDA has been investigating the deaths and illness of several dogs due to eating chicken jerky treats. I purchased Dingo Market Cuts from Walmart and both my dogs got sick throwing up and with diarrhea.
Avatar n tn I, too, have a dent in the top front part of my head that I first noticed a few months ago. I am a 44-year-old female. I have not had headaches, hair loss or any sensitivity. It is just noticeable when I comb my hair. I do wear my sunglasses on my head often - way too often! I have always had issues related to calcium in my body (kidney stones & bad teeth that break easily). I've never really been tested - something that I should do now that I know. Thanks for all the posts.
Avatar f tn Reading my journals for the last six weeks-will provide some of the highlights when I can, but now I just can't. Hopefully, this will help somone else recognize the symptoms of kidney failure in their babies. I cannot express to all of you how much your comments mean to us right now. Not sure we could make it without you. It is so hard.
Avatar f tn Hello Following a bout of suspected kidney stones I was sent for a routine ultrasound in February this year. The Ultrasound showed that I had what was then recorded as a large cyst measuring 14.5 cm and an additional cyst multi occulated with 6 septations and thickened walls. The ultrasound technician was concerend and refered the results straight back that day to my GP who also reffered me to the hospital to be seen urgently.
Avatar n tn I have had leg cramps and back/flank pain for several months, come to find out I have several large kidney stones, my gallbladder was not working, and also severe degenerative disc disease in my lumbar spine (despite surgery 20 years ago). Got the kidney stones removed, gallbladder removed and am scheduled to see a neurosurgeon about the back. Instead of getting pain medication (which I almost became addicted to!
Avatar n tn He ran a sestambi scan and pelvic scan for kidney stones. Although the blood continued in the urine, there were no stones seen and that symptom went away. The sestambi scan didn't show anything. He also ran a test at his office for PTH, which came back much lower than the one done at Quest Labs. They didn't require me to fast for that test, which the previous one at Quest had required.
Avatar n tn Further testing to consider would be a urinalysis (looking for any kidney stones which may manifest as back pain) or abdominal/pelvic CT scan to look for any masses or inflammation which can cause abdominal discomfort. 5285867 tn?1365996892 Lost 30 lbs with my diet change. My thyroid was fluctuating for a year. In March I passed a kidney stone. It's been a roller coaster of illness. My gastritis is a little better, and I am back on thyroid pills. 75mc. I told my doctors that i wanted a new profile of tests done on my thyroid. My palpitations slowed down since being on thyroid. Now I have that neurological electrical shooting feeling. Do not know why! I usually get the shocks when I read. Kinda strange!
351724 tn?1267540618 i just recently did lose around 20lbs with in 5 wks . Avatar n tn I went this last Monday for acouple of things one of which was passing kidney stones and showed some of stones to them and they said someone would be calling me soon! Hello, kidney stones are no fun to pass!
230262 tn?1316649534 If I get pain meds for back problems from my pain clinic and then go to me Primary Dr to get pain meds for my kidney stones then I am breaking the rules. I have kidney stones every month and get 4 back injections a year (from back surgery) and now I don't take any pain meds for any of it because they made my life unmanageable. I just take the pain now, pain won't kill me but overuse of meds will.
686246 tn?1252428681 then leave, there are tons of people and there's only one pain management clinic in my town, and all doctors refer all their clients with chronic pain there, so it's like they are herding cattle, in and out.. no suggestions, etc.. they are giving me the pain meds primarily for my RA and back issues, when I tell them about the biofim, and even MSK, i get weird looks, so I shut up.
Avatar m tn It did make me feel good. Bailey may have kidney stones AGAIN. He's on medication for a urinary infection so it might be that but he almost DIED last time from the urine backing up (we had no idea of course he had the stones)...he's only going to be 3 it's like why why why does he think the more things I get he has to as well? Oh maybe so he can snuggle me. Makes me so sad. And what's up with you???????????????????????????????????????
5591135 tn?1380171656 040) Concentrated urine is a very hostile environment that does not readily support bacterial growth. Therefore...... Urinary tract infections are rare in cats without a concurrent disease such as kidney insufficiency, diabetes, or hyperthyroidism.
242516 tn?1368227505 Colds can even cause pressure in sinuses, when viruses affect the sinuses . Antibiotics don't help in these viral infections. Treatments aimed at reducing symptoms can help. A recent review in the American Family Physician journal on Feb 15, 2007 highlights some of the treatments that are helpful in the common cold and how to tell if you're getting worse than just a viral infection:
20804558 tn?1517783610 "the 50's and 60's were the absolute height of harmful chemicals being used in agriculture, not a low point." Not where I came from... Nor did we have "Salespeople used to come to the farms and drink the stuff to show how "safe" these chemicals were". Some people used DDT, which we all know was banned in the 70's. I don't remember my dad using it, but he very well may have.
Avatar n tn Thanks Vanessa, No other places, but may be on on my chest. My father is known to have had kidney stones. I may have passed a bladder stone several years ago, and had recent symptoms of a possible stone but no diagnostic tests to indicate anything except for trace red blood cells on urine dip and some kidney pain last year.
Avatar m tn I actually am trying out Chanca Piedra to get rid of gall stones. I bought my capsules in Canada though...i am having difficulty procuring it locally. I tried the local herb, pamatay lang sa pait kasi that's why I opted for the capsule form. Worst case i'll get someone to order from the States...kahit ano naman na brand...
1035252 tn?1427231433 I really feel like the doctor was discounting me because I'm young, not because I'm pregnant because I KNOW you can get pain medicine when you're pregnant, because they gave me heavy stuff when I had my kidney stones while pregnant with my daughter. Of course that's a different situation, but lying and saying you can't give me ANYTHING just crosses the line. If he had said "I don't feel comfortable with it" that would be a different story.
Avatar m tn I went for surgery a few days later and sure enough i had so many stones that nothing could move in or out of my gall bladder anymore. After the surgery I felt great. Never had the nausea even with the bad gall bladder for a yr. And even ate fast food and fried stuff after they removed it and still no nausea ever. So I am just stumped on what could be wrong with me. I am starting to feel like my primary dr doesnt want to be bothered with this anymore. And my quality of life just *****.
Avatar m tn I am having the same issue. Just got a procedure for removal of kidney stones. Didn't think the worst thing after the surgery would a swollen uvula. Having difficulty falling asleep and it has definitely gotten worse. Any recommendations?
Avatar f tn It is usually reserved for kidney stones, gunshots, cancer and normally it is given in the hospital. If your son has gotten hold of some 24mg hydromorphone he really needs to be careful. That amount could very well be fatal. I would call poison control and speak with them about it.
Avatar f tn I check my temp when I get these episodes and its perfectly normal. I do not have a infection or am not sick. Im not even in a cold environment. Everyone around me is not cold. Its the weirdest thing, and I cant find a answer for it. Its like my body is messed up and sending these chills for no reason. Please help.
Avatar n tn there are tablets in Holland and Baretts that you take before having anything with milk in and they help you digest the lactose, this almost completely stops the symptoms. However they cost £10 a bottle for 60 pills (I think), and they don't last very long depending on the amount of milk is in your diet.
Avatar f tn A friend of mine got kidney stones while on extended business in England. He said that he was put in a tawdry hospital where the bedding was not even changed. They did not have the expensive lithotripsy machine (like the private hospital), so he endured days of pain and futile attempts to extract the stones. Once they got his insurance issues worked out, they informed him that he could go the private hospital provided by his American insurance.
Avatar m tn I'm one yr post kidney transplant after 5 yrs on hemodialysis. My diabetes II kicked in post-transplant as I was warned it might. Cleve Clinic post-transplant team has me on about 20 meds, some immunosuppressive, some lipid control, some blood pressure control including lisinopril. I do have a bit of a gagging cough during the day. The increasing insulin doses to control my blood sugar was a contributing factor in a significant weight gain month after month post surgery.
Avatar n tn The surgery was done laproscopically and everything went well. I am 19 years old, and I'm currently in college. Everything in my life is pretty normal. I go to the bathroom about 6 to 8 times a day, but I am in much better control of it that I was prior to the surgery. Aside from that, everything is pretty much normal. I can eat anything, most foods don't make a difference as to how much I use the restroom.
