623083 tn?1295214681 WELCOME to our community~! The kidney stone propensity itself is genetic (my mom, dad and brother all have had them and landed in the hospital) but there is no concrete proof (best I know) of MSK being genetic. We don't know since my family hasn't been tested since they had isolated incidents w/o repeat. I have a friend who may be able to come online our comunity to help with the results. Keep in touch and let us know how your son is feeling.
Avatar n tn I recently passed a kidney stone and have three small stones left in my left kidney. Last week, I began experiencing tremendous low-back pain. I thought this was a worsening of the arthritis in my spine. I then began to experience vaginal spotting. It is still occuring almost a week later, and the back pain is excruciating. I feel much better when lying down. Yesterday I began to feel very light-headed and nauseous. I am also very bloated - I can hardly button my pants.
Avatar m tn In September 2009 I ended up in the hospital with pain--turned out to be kidney stones. The scan that was done showed I had an enlarged urachal. In October I had a procedure when they went up and bioposied it from the inside of the bladder, the cells and muscle wall showed no cancer. The dr. sent me for an MRI and he suggested we would continue to monitor the part sticking out of the bladder...
Avatar n tn At the start I had some sharp grabing pains real low down and thought maybe a kidney stone-s . Doing research I found I was prone for stones as was taking gega amounts of tums ( calcium) and drink lots of milk along with vitamins. I thought this was maybe from irritation of the urithra. Also If diebetic as I am gases can form in urinary tract because of sugars present .
Avatar f tn ive had gallstones n kidney stones because of the crohns, so mayb its something else. I no it must b horrible watching ur child go through it.
Avatar n tn old boy (my baby) was just diagnosed with Crohns Disease a month ago and I am experiencing pain worse than childbirth and kidney stones combined. I am an RN and a little knowledge can kill someone. MY son is actually fairly well and has been with his grandmother the past several weeks. I noticed that he was barely growing and one abnormal test result let to another, led to another and Crohn's is the dx. I kept crying everytime I looked at him, so it's actually good he's away now.

Avatar f tn I was rushed off for x-rays and scans to make sure I didn't have kidney problems. My urine and blood was tested for pregnancy and urine infections which came back negative. My blood and urine was crystal clear. I was admitted over night into the hospital. The theory was now that i might of had a cyst on my ovary that had ruptured. The next day I was sent off for an ultrasound.
211940 tn?1267884866 However, he said it could NOT be causing me so much pain. He checked out my arm and noticed a hard soft tissue knot, and suggested removing it through surgery and it "might" relieve my pain. So, 3 weeks ago I had the said surgery and it was removed (a hard soft tissue mass about the size of a marble). No, this was not the cyst inside my humerus bone. Anyways, I still have the pain, and it is extremely terrible at night (on a scale of 1 to 10, a 20 at night).
Avatar f tn Nothing was helping, and since I was scheduled to be getting my first dose of Remicade in a few days, they decided to give it to me in the hospital. Within just 2 days my rectal bleeding had stopped and I started to feel better, so they released me. I will be getting further Remicade soon. My Crohn's personally is very very affected by fiber, so the whole time in the hospital and after I was released, I had been eating a very low fiber diet and feeling much better than before I went.
Avatar n tn (negative for bacteria, stds, cancer, kidney stones). The burning can be light and last for hours or very intense and last for 20-35 minutes. I haven't found any pattern. Urinating can be a trigger but is not always a trigger. The burning is usually worse in the evening. Most days I have some level of burning. I have no urgency, frequency or bladder pain. 2) Pins and Needles (sometimes right before or right after burning).
Avatar n tn Doctors are planning to remove mine, and rehook the end of the small intestine to the rectum. I suffer from colonic inertia. Whats life like without a large intestine? Will I lose a lot of weight, will I have to change my diet around? Any details would be helpful. So far I know that I'll be going to the bathroom a lot. And for curiosity, I'm 18 -- so I'm quite young.
1417393 tn?1292451926 I no longer have the sinus infection (that cleared up early-mid April) followed a week later by a UTI that I went to my right kidney fairly easily. And I have been taking probiotics in hopes my gut flora was seriously out of balance but nothing has made a difference. I have had an abdominal ultrasound in which everything looked good in size but I have a small cholesteral polyp on my gallbladder, a cyst in my right kidney and they couldn't see my pancreas due to "overlying bowl gas".
Avatar f tn Lately, I have had a colonoscopy and CT scan of the body and all that were found were partially blocked coronary arteries and a kidney stone that is causing no problems. Not very helpful with my constant abdominal discomfort and these chills. It is either the latter or the aching in my feet that keeps me awake at night. I once had much more severe chills at night when I was a young woman.
Avatar n tn I have since discovered it's my gallbladder (diagnosed it myself, Docs were of no help too they told me not to stress and try to relax. For 5 years!). Ultrasound showed no stones but HIDA scan confirmed 7% ejection fraction. My theory is, GB produces bile, which acts as a soup to break up fat and help digestion of fat. At night, the digestive track moves slower. Without enough bile soup, the fat wraps around the food waste, giving your intestines a hard time to absorb and move them around.
902019 tn?1249865014 My brother was told 2 days ago he has pancreatic cancer. I really feel he has the same thing I do. He has kidney and lung masses just like me. I tried to talk to him about it, but he is still in the shock of the news. I understand that, I went through it as well. Just wondering what you think?
Avatar n tn still no relief after two emergency room visits they gave him hydroxine and blood workups for kidney, liver, and thyroid came back normal. then the allergist said his bloodwork for allergies is normal too. she put him on zyrtec and two hydroxine at night so the kid can maybe get some sleep.. Now were going on 5 weeks he has missed 3 weeks of school and there's still no relief for this poor kid in site. we've tried oatmeal baths, lotion, bactine which has lidocane and still nothing.
