Avatar f tn I was orginally on Depo-Provera for 1 1/2 years (never had a period), switched to Seasonale (major nausea), then switched to Tri-Sprintec (my chest got huge on this pill), and then to Kariva (was great!). I was on Kariva for 10 months. I never took the placebo week, so I never had a 'period'. However, if and when I missed a pill or took it a little late, I always had spotting for a day or two.
Avatar f tn My tests show I have low estrogen (also taking birth control pill), decreased cortisol in the morning and increased at night and elevated DHEA. I'm just baffled as to why I am sweating so much. Should I get treated for the estrogen or should they level out once my thyroid is fixed? I am taking natural supplements for my adrenals and might want to try HC but I have heard not so good stories about it. Are there natural adrenal meds or how should I go abouts treating it?
Avatar f tn Hi- I am a 17 year old girl and I have been on birth control pills for a little over a year and a half now. I was originally prescribed Ortho-Tricyclen Lo but was switched to Kariva in May of this year because it was said to be the "less expensive generic brand" of Tricyclen Lo. I always felt a little more irritable and noticed my skin got a little more sensitive when I originally started taking the pill, but nothing too bad.
Avatar f tn In Aug 2007 I started taking Kariva 28 day and stayed on it until Aug 2009. A few months before this, I began having issues with my cycle. I wasn’t getting my period, I got my period early plus the full week I was supposed to, and then I was spotting several days a month. I then found out I had Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and started treatment hoping that would help. I didn't. I went on Portia 28 for 5 months, Junel 1.5 30 tab for 3 months and now I’m on Junel 1/20.
Avatar f tn Last Wednesday I got my period, and I began taking Kariva Birth Control. On friday, My boyfriend and I decided to have sex, which was dumb, but we used a condom with spermicide on it and in it. After a little bit, the condom popped and he pulled out immediately without ejaculating at all. Then we were finished. I know that people say that girls can get pregnant on their periods, however, i was only on the 3rd day of my cycle and i highly doubt that i could have ovulated so early...
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
1351105 tn?1277142905 I just recently found out that I have low estrogen levels. I also have endometriosis. I looked up something and it said that estrogen replacement is not the best thing with endometriosis. My soon to be husband and I are trying for another baby but if estrogen levels are low I know that can cause a bigger issue on being able to conceive. And I don't want to go back onto birth control due to the fact that we're trying for another.
Avatar f tn My blood work came back and I have low estrogen levels. The insurance won't cover the medication I was prescribed. Does anyone have an idea of a generic brand I can take or something over the counter?
Avatar n tn Last year, I was on the birth control pill (Marvelon 21) to regulate my periods which I had a lack of due to low estrogen levels because of, mainly, being overweight. I have not been on the pill since July 2007. I am just wondering, is it possible to become pregnant if I have not had my period for the past 4 to 5 months? Also, will I have difficulty in the future to get pregnant having such irregular menstrual cycles and taking the birth control pill so excessively?
Avatar f tn im 33 yo,6yrs trying to get pregnant, recently my repro-endo told me that im not ovulating bec of low estrogen level, and as of now she doesnt know the root cause of having low estrogen, since all my bloodtests were normal..is there anybody out there who experience the same thing..right now my ob instruct me to inject gonal-f.to help stimulate my eggcells..very depressing, frustrating, sometimes i want to give up and loosing hope..pls help me..
Avatar n tn However, with IVF they have to keep a good balance because if estrogen is too low you would miscarry. Good luck to you!
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar f tn They can then determine if you really are low estrogen. And if it is so low that you have these types of issues, then you can perhaps take BC with estrogen and bump back up to get regulated again. I had the opposite for a good while of TOO much production of estrogen which acted like a natural birth control pill, infrequent periods, melisma on the face (lovely), etc. That was a bummer. But definitely, out of nowhere, hormones can get out of whack.
Avatar f tn It's not your fault, it's due to a low amount of estrogen. Perhaps you should try watching some porn (don't act like you haven't done it before) sometimes all you need is a little visual stimulation. If that's not working then perhaps talk to the gyno about it. I was having issues with low libido as well and it turns out my body wasn't producing enough estrogen so now I take estrogen supplements on top of birth control and my sex drive is back.
Avatar f tn My estrogen level was low at my last blood test which was 5 days after a 5dt. It was 47 and they said it should be around 100. They gave me supplements to take twice a day. This happened to me last try and it didn't work. Has anyone else had low estrogen like me and still had a positive pregnancy test?
Avatar n tn Also from my doctor, I learned that one can be both estrogen deficient and estrogen dominant at the same time if progesterone and estrogen are low, and due to our exposure to estrogens & phyto estrogens in environment and foods. So alot of balancing is required and diary your symptoms for your doctor, and balancing your doses of the creams based on your symptoms, always start low and work up, also know that with estrogen, the symptoms of too much and not enough, are the same.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your reply. I am taking estrogen pills too with a estrogen patch every other day.
Avatar f tn orthotrycyclinn made me have two cycles a month but every pill they gave me did that instead of makeing my periouds lighter it made me have more and heavier ones, plus i lost a lot of weight on birth control i was on kariva, low loesestrin fe, abri, orthottycyclin, and two other ones all of them did the same thing they helped witht he cramps but i had more cycles than i was suppposed to.
138239 tn?1239924924 It can be low for many reasons - but were any other androgen tests done as well that were off like estrogen or testosterone? If you take DHEA, you will likely raise those levels. It can have unwanted side effects in that case. Was LH or FSH tested? Any other adrenal hormones like renin, aldosterone, cortisol, ACTH tested? How were you tested for Cushing's? Did they at least follow the guidelines and test you three times? I had Cushing's - it can be very difficult to diagnose.
Avatar f tn I did a hormonal imbalance test and it turns out my estrogen level is at 203. The doctor told me to eat healthy, no carbs and no sugar. They also say irregular period is due to stress. I did my research stress leads to high estrogen. So I am guessing that is what causing it to be high. But I also read eating foods with lots of vitamins (ex. Selenium. Melatonin, vitamin b, magnesium, etc.) helps reduce it. But all this time I've been on a diet and I have been eating all of that.
1190847 tn?1287363025 They both told me that I probably have a sex hormone imbalance. So, I looked this up on the internet and found out that low estrogen levels can trigger psychosis in people who are predisposed to schizophrenia. One of my sisters has major depressive disorder, and another has rapid cycling type II bipolar. The three of us have different fathers. So, a week before I start my period I self-mutilate, have crying fits, tics, delusions, suicidal thoughts, and paranoia.
Avatar f tn My folicles (though i have a lot) were too small, like 7cm and my bloodwork came back with low estrogen levels. She wants to see me in 2 weeks. But I have so many questions? Why two weeks, I want to start resolving this matter right away? Do you think I'll be still taking the clomid, what are the next steps?
429647 tn?1249753429 said it was ok to go on a low dose estrogen, estordil .05. I am having hot flashes, but they are not the worst, As alot of us know there are worse things to take on. So I was wondering if I should. Does anyone have any experience or advice.
Avatar f tn I found out yesterday that I have low estrogen. I am still getting my period every month and I ovulate. They said they want to start me on Clomid soon to help me out. I wanted to see if anyone out there experienced the same issues as me? What are the success rates of getting pregnant with low estrogen? My husband and I are both 32 yrs old for reference. My CM was examined and that's healthy as well.
Avatar n tn I have very low Estrogen & Progesterone levels. I was told 28 is the high end of levels and i am a 4. Is this an easy fix for fertility purposes or is my new DR making light of the situation? I feel like i have no idea about this sort of stuff and have never had any issues in that area before. I have regular cycles, etc. I have been off pill for almost 3 years and we weren't trying to get pregnant but not not trying either. I am 32 and he is 34, neither of us have children.
Avatar n tn hello ladies, i just had my day 3 labs done ,and come to find out that my estrogen levels are extremly low, lt was 16. my obgyn told me not to worry about this and we would try clomid. ( which i know i dont have problems ovulating. i have been reading and i believe that estrogen plays a very important role in conceiving! am i wrong? do levels get higher throughout your cycle? has anyone had troubles conceiving with low levels? . can someone take estrogen supplements?
