Common Questions and Answers about Kariva inactive pills

mircette

Avatar f tn Tomorrow will be the start of my two green pills, then on friday I will begin to take my blue pills (inactive pills). Would you suggest that I take another test just to be sure? Or will I be alright?
Avatar f tn I was orginally on Depo-Provera for 1 1/2 years (never had a period), switched to Seasonale (major nausea), then switched to Tri-Sprintec (my chest got huge on this pill), and then to Kariva (was great!). I was on Kariva for 10 months. I never took the placebo week, so I never had a 'period'. However, if and when I missed a pill or took it a little late, I always had spotting for a day or two.
Avatar m tn I am on Kariva birth control. I missed 2 or 3 pills the week that i had sex. We used protection everytime except penetration once for like 30 but he did not ejaculate. I took plan b (the one pill version) between th 48 and 72 hour mark. It has been 2 weeks since and my period has been a couple days late and very very light (dark brown). I know that the plan b causes disruptions in menstrating and so does missing pills but id like to lnow if im just overly paranoid.
11728532 tn?1451774466 I should not have gotten my period for another two weeks according to my pills. When I took the pills that started my period, It was very light and ended two days early. We used a condom but I'm scared. I've been constipated, had thicker vaginal discharge, and pain in the left and right sides of my abdomen. Why did I bleed? Why am I having weird symptoms now? Could I be pregnant? Am I just freaking myself out? If any one could answer these questions it would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar f tn Anyway, I have now almost finished my first sheet and I am up to the White suger pills which bring on your period, but the thing is I have now had my period for over two weeks (the whole time I have been taking the pill) and I am worried as to why? I had sex a week before I went on the pill but I don't think I'm pregnant? I need so advice please.
Avatar f tn orthotrycyclinn made me have two cycles a month but every pill they gave me did that instead of makeing my periouds lighter it made me have more and heavier ones, plus i lost a lot of weight on birth control i was on kariva, low loesestrin fe, abri, orthottycyclin, and two other ones all of them did the same thing they helped witht he cramps but i had more cycles than i was suppposed to.
Avatar f tn You can take two twice a day. After you have started an inactive phase of labor, get permission from your doctor to make sure they are OK for you and then insert 2 before bed and take two orally. Do not do any of this until speaking to your doctor or midwife.
Avatar f tn i have an inactive colon ..and it ***** ...i walk around like i have a bunch of food in my stomach ... but barely ate anything ...what is the best way to help your colon ..and get on a regular movement ........
Avatar f tn Assuming you're taking your active pills correctly and haven't missed those, then missing an inactive pill at the end of the pack won't make any difference. Those pills at the end are just sugar pills and don't contain any hormones in them. The dosage of the active pills that you've taken the other weeks of the pack provide continued protection even while you're on your period.
Avatar f tn It consists of 24 active pills and 4 inactive pills. I have never missed a pill. I had unprotected sex on Wednesday night, drank my pill on Thursday evening and forgot my pill on Friday. The pill I was meant to take on Friday is the last active pill before the inactive pills. I only realised on Sunday and drank the pill I was meant to drink on Friday, exactly 48 hours after I should have. I didn't drink any pills Saturday or Sunday since those days are inactive pill days.
Avatar n tn i meant to write that i missed a dose of active pill about a week in and im not sure if that means that my period will come whether i skip the inactive pills or not
Avatar n tn Can she still get pregnant from me doing that and her being on her inactive pills? Even though she is on the inactive pills at the time she has not yet started her period, can that effect things? Please help!
Avatar f tn By "skip my inactive pills," do you mean avoid having a period by continuing straight through to the next month's active pills without a break?

Avatar f tn ve been on Mircette (a.k.a Kariva). Before I started Mircette I stopped my pills about 3 days before I was supposed to right before I was to start my cycle. Anyway, long story short, with this pill all I've had are bad gas and gas pains, some cramping but other than that I don't feel like I'm on bcp. Well yesterday I was supposed to have my period but when I thought it was here, I had mucus like cm and then some pinkish brownish discharge with it.
Avatar f tn In Aug 2007 I started taking Kariva 28 day and stayed on it until Aug 2009. A few months before this, I began having issues with my cycle. I wasn’t getting my period, I got my period early plus the full week I was supposed to, and then I was spotting several days a month. I then found out I had Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and started treatment hoping that would help. I didn't. I went on Portia 28 for 5 months, Junel 1.5 30 tab for 3 months and now I’m on Junel 1/20.
Avatar n tn My period usually came on Wednesday, sometimes Thursday...so on the 4th or 5th day of inactive pills. I took them for 3 years and only 3 times did I get my period on Tuesday (day 3 of inactive pills). Every other time it was Wednesday or Thursday.
Avatar n tn Can she still get pregnant from me doing that and her being on her inactive pills? Even though she is on the inactive pills at the time she has not yet started her period, can that effect things? Please help! Also, should she take plan B pills while there is still time?
Avatar f tn You always start a new pack of pills with the first active pill. Taking the inactive (placebo) pills is not going to protect you. You should still use condoms for backup for at least 2 weeks after starting to make sure that you're covered. Unless you want to risk possibly not being protected yet.
Avatar f tn the thing is i don't have inactive pills in my packet. i just got 21 pills. what's the difference...
Avatar f tn I have just had my period by taking the inactive pills in my packet of the pill. I didnt have anything on my tampon/pad for the past 4 days. I took my first active pill yesterday however today I have gotten my periods again and they are fairly heavy. Why would I have them now after not having anything? I have also recently had thrush could this have something to do with it?
Avatar n tn I have a question about the birth control pill. I am currently on Yaz and have been for about 6 months now. Last month, I missed a pill but made it up the next day when i remembered. I did this two times the entire month but on seperate weeks (both times making up the pill the next morning). I also was not able to take it at the exact same time each night due to busy schedule.
Avatar n tn you don;t really have to take the inactive pills ever, they are just placebo sugar pills. when i was on birth control i did not take the inactive pills, i just started a new pack the Sunday that i was suppsoed to. those pills are just to make sure you stay in track with taking a pill daily but i never forgot to start my new pack. If you just recently had sex, like within the past week, you would not know yet if you are pregnant. i would wait a little while longer and take a pregnancy test.
Avatar n tn Did you take your inactive pills? Because thats probably why if you dint.
Avatar f tn ve followed what she has told me, which was that i dnot actually have to take the inactive pills as long as i keep track. But like i said, Ive always ended active pills on a Wed and start my period on a Fri. My period always lasts 3 days. So its at its end on a Sunday; i always start the pills on that very Sunday. Another thing that my sister told me was that I can Start the pills the day of my period or the sunday after.
