My jaw pain is on left side only - same side as tooth. My crown was placed on tooth with temporary cement and left like that for months - but the off and on discomfort remained. It is NOT same pain I experienced when it was cracked - - it is on the sides only and almost feels like it is loose - yet dentists have examined it and say it is not loose. Also - most of the time when the tooth hurts, my jaw (on left only) hurts - the pain goes back to from of ear area.
That pain in my throat hurts whn i turn my head to the left but not the right. The pain is literally one the right side. this is all becoming too much. It wont go away and im a little worried irritated and becoming agitated with the whole thing. Im am just giving up on going to the doctor and hear the same thing about the inflammation. Is there something else or am i just over reacting?
head aches in the temples, click/pop in the jaw when opening my mouth more than a few mm, jaw dislocating and clicking when I talk and chew. My jaw locking and being difficult to open. sometimes one side will lock or be stiff sometimes both. Finding steak so tiring to chew I'd give in and leave it - I love steak! A constant ache in the jaw, sometimes fuzzy ears. - that's my jaw been sore to touch my cheeks near my ears, feeling bruised.
On a daily basis I get pulsing and sharp pain. The top of my head on my right side is really, really sensitive to the touch and it goes all the way down to my face. Around my cheek bone and jaw area. I'm not sure what this is but any help I can get would really be appreciated.

I then went through 5 days of Augmentin. There was no drainage and no change. I was also experiencing tooth and jaw pain. This mainly on the right side. I went back to the P.A, who put me on 7 days of Levaquin and ordered a sinus x-ray. The sinus x-ray came back negative. The tooth pain continued and even got worse. I then had a CT scan of my face which came back negative for any issues in my bones, clear for sinus issues. I then went to my dentist yesterday for an exam.
Surgeon said Fosamax caused this condition and pain.(fossy jaw) I also had to have a bone implant in my jaw.How do I get rid of this constant painful condition? I Hate taking pain meds, but I'm grateful I get some relief. Pain in jaw, ear,eye, forehead, neck, nose all the whole left side of my face and head.
Throat and chest pressure /constriction dizziness are now another pressing concern.
There are 3 nerves (TRI-geminal) in the face that will cause different pain in different locations. Typically only effects one side of the face. Treatment is difficult. Pain med. Anti-inflammatory. Soft foods, rest. Also drugs such as Tegretol (gradually increase of dosage, gradual pain relief) Gapepentin and other drugs typically prescribed. See a Neurologist. Feel Better!
For several years, I have experienced severe jaw nerve pain. The pain is located very deep in the jaw behind my teeth, almost in my neck. I have been to several dentists, had xrays and exams and they cannot find a problem. I liken the pain to eating a lemon....that piercing feeling you get in the jaw ...only multiplied about 50 times. This is very painful and aspirin, muscle relaxers, pain medication etc does not relieve it at all.
Recently I have been having pain on both sides of my jaw and up the back of my head. It started off on the right side making my face feel numb and then gave me shooting pain in the side of my head and down my neck. I have also been feeling like my ears are clogged or there is a lot of pressure in my head. I constantly feel as if I have been given a numbing medication because my teeth feel numb. I know that sounds weird but it feels like my mouth and teeth have been numbed.
A week has gone by from all four impacted wisdom teeth were surgically removed. My jaw on the right side feels like it is locked. I can only open my jaw 1 inch. When I try to open it farther I get excruciating pain and it won't open. Left side is fine. I was very swollen the first three days after surgery. What should I do?
I notified the dentist again about the persisting jaw pain and asked him about any treatment methods or habits to help heal the TMJ pain. Besides telling me about salt rinses and to avoid chewy foods, he told me that treatment was not possible.
Is there any hope that I'll have normal jaw function? Should the dentist have known better to rush treatment on a weekly basis for 3 mos.? What are my options?
But two weeks ago I started experiencing severe pain in my left jaw, that is only abated by pain killers. Without any sort of pain killers, my whole left jaw feels like it's on fire. Last Monday I went to the dentist. They didn't take any new xrays, and only referred to the ones from October, and told me they didn't know what my problem was. The thought my filling might be a little high, so filed it down, then told me that I may be grinding my teeth.
Anyway, the pain came back again yeasterday with a vengence! My lower jaw on my left side has severe pain that lasts several minutes then subsides for a while. The upper jaw on the left side is also effected but isn't as severe. Sometimes there is stabbing pain to my ear. The pain is bad enough to wake me up at night. It almost feels like a "charly horse" in my jaw. I use a splint at night. I do have an implant in my lower jaw on that side and see a dentist regularly.
In additional to all of my other issues post baby, I am hav developed random shooting pain in my jaw. no chest or arm pain.....i went to my dentiist who thinks I am clenching...and apparently on the same side there is nerve damage to one of my teeth. could this be all it is?!? i am also getting panic attacks with post partum anxiety so am nervous this could all be my heart. i am a 29 year old healthy female, 2 babies....
This may sound odd but the pain on my left side stopped without any treatment about a week ago. Thing is now I have the same feeling on the right side of my face. There seems to be a little swelling just under my jaw a little bit under my right ear. What can this be, it can't be just coincidence.???
t been diagnosed officially by a doctor, last time I went with two complaints, jaw and heart so she told me my heart one was more serious and ignored my jaw. My osteopath told me I had tmj back in December and has been providing temporary relief (an evening free of jaw pain) but I'm wondering what else can I do?
On Monday felt a little pain and discomfort which gradually increased through Tuesday and still experience pain and discomfort on wednesday. When mouth is closed there is no pain. When moving jaw from side to side, no pain. I experience tthe pain and discomfort when opening my mouth. II also noticed my face get a little puffy on that side on Tuesday.
Do think my jaw is broken, dislocated, or just bruised?
Start massaging that area under the jaw bone then work your way around the corner of the jaw towards the ear. If you have a massaging vibrator, I recommend using it on each side until the muscle releases" The arm pain is usually relieved when you stop the spasm of the muscle I described above. Google "sternocleidomastoid muscles" for a picture to see where these muscles are located to help massage them. good luck!
