Avatar n tn Sometimes after getting a shot in the area near the tooth, there will be pain for a couple of days after. My gum swelled and was sore for atleast 4 days after my fillings were done. It does go away.
Avatar m tn Although my gums are sore the terrible pain is from my left jaw. Also I have noticed that my lower left side of my jaw on my face feels puffy.
Avatar m tn I had four cavities filled two weeks ago two molars on top and two molars on the bottom. Two days after they were filled I had several pain in my right jaw and gum. I went back and had the bite fixed. But by the weekend, I was in pain again. The dentist called in Tylenol with Codine. By Tuesday I went back to the dentist and they took an xray. They claimed my teeth look fine but since I was in pain in the one back molar they removed that filling and redrilled and filled it.
Avatar m tn IF not, jaw pain can be signs of other issues, especially after having chewed lots of gum. You could have something known as TMJ and that causes jaw pain. TemperoMandibularJoint disease can be brought on by repetitive movement of the lower jaw, which can cause lots of pain. You could also have a blocked salivary gland known as siladentits, which causes jaw pain. I would recommend seeing an MD if you have not done so already. Both of the issues I mentioned can be treated with medicine.
Avatar n tn AT THE END OF APRIL, THE PAIN RETURNED. MY ORAL SURGEON CHECKED ME AGAIN, AS DID MY REGULAR DENTIST. IN ADDITION TO THE JAW PAIN, I WAS HAVING EAR PAIN, AND THE GUM AREA (WHERE THE TOOTH WAS) WAS VERY SORE. THE ORAL SURGEON REFERRED ME TO A GUM SPECIALIST WHO SAID MY GUM LOOKED OK, BUT I MIGHT NEED AN INPLANT. THE EAR PAIN CONTINUED, SO I WAS SENT TO AN ENT DOCTOR WHO SAID MY EAR LOOKED FINE.

Avatar f tn A couple nights ago I started getting pain on my gum and soft palate (all upper left side). It was pretty bad, but it eventually went away and I fell asleep. When I woke up, no pain. But later in the day, it came on again, a bit stronger this time. It then went away and came back. When I woke up today (well technically yesterday it's 1:32 AM) it was a bit sore but no severe pain like before.

Avatar n tn Hey doc- Recently I have a sharp pain in my bottom right jaw where my wisdom teeth would be- I got them pulled ~3 years ago and when I put my tongue back there it feels like there is a flap of gum covering something, the gum kind-of pulls back. The pain extends into my neck and jaw, and is quite excruciating.

Avatar f tn t reform my soccket is clean and today i feel less pain than i did monday, problem is i have been viewing my gum ln the mirror the shallowness of my gum especially on the sides from inside next the the toung and outside next to my cheek, the gum meat has gone further down to expose my jaw bone, i am experiencing slight pain on my jaw and ear now. Is this part of a healing process or should i be worried?
529224 tn?1400648219 Getting one or two small boils ( of about 2 mm diameter) from time to time (three times in the last 6 months) on the front-side of the lower gum (i.e., behind the lower lip). There is no pain as such but the boil seems to contain 'pus'. Previously I treated those with saline water gurgle and those disappeared in 2-3 days. Is it anything serious? Do you suggest any medicine/treatement? - Sarit.
Avatar n tn Seeing an orofacial pain specialist is advised.
Avatar n tn Could there be too much cement under the crown pushing on my gums? Sometimes the crown feels to tight so I open and close my mouth wide to stretch my jaw. My jaw bone sometimes aches around that area too. Any idea on what the problem could be? Help!
Avatar m tn I have suffered from TMJ for many years... No gum chewing, stay away from very chewy things... gummy bears, jelly beans and anything like that. I have to wear a mouth guard to relieve the pressure on my jaw, you can go to the drug store and they sell ones that you can put in boiling water and form to your jaw. Stress will intensify TMJ pain and "popping". If you are having pain Motrin will help if you are unable to take it.
Avatar n tn Did you have dental work 6 months ago that may have triggered it? Or a face or head trauma? Be careful not to overstress the area. There is a little disc in the jaw that can become overstressed. Watch yourself for twitching it out of habit, or trying to pop it back in place by jiggling your jaw around, biting the inside of your check and don't chew gum. Avoid hot & cold. Believe me, if you stress it, it will become excruciating. You might want to take Advil.
Avatar n tn for this he gave me brufen 200mg, amoxicilin 500mg and flagyl 400mg, but still im havig sever pain in my lower left jaw where my wisdom tooth was extracted. when i met my doctor to remove the stiches i complained about my situataion, he said its normal as for the bone beeing drilled.
Avatar f tn I was researching online and it said that a dental/gum abscess is accompanied by pain. But I have no pain there. Just a little discomfort from the actual swelling. My questions.... 1. I don't want to have another round of anti-biotics right now so soon after the last round. Would it be dangerous to wait and see if this swelling goes down on its own? 2.
Avatar n tn everytime I open my mouth to eat, yawn, whatever, my jaw pops. I mostly feel it on my right side. Esp when I yawn, it feels like it gets stuck when I go to close it, and it always makes this huge popping sound and it hurts. Any idea what this is or what causes it? And do I need to see someone for this? Any help would be great. Thanks!!
494996 tn?1209551293 the dentist cleaned the tooth out from decay and filled it. every since then i had pain in the join of my jaw and pain in the lower jaw and pain right over my eye. Now i am having pain in my right eye ear. could this be a sign of an sinus infection or could my my gum got infected. I also have pain in my mouth but not in the place where he filled it.
Avatar n tn When people refer to jaw pain and heart attack where on the jaw is this referring to. Is it lower jaw or up near the cheek on the upper jaw. Is the pain intense or throbbing.
Avatar m tn A mouth ulcer does not cause a sore jaw. Your sore jaw and swollen gland is likely to be from a viral or bacterial infection. Wisdom teeth that have a problem to grow out from the gum can cause swelling on the side of the mouth of the growing tooth and can cause painful jaw.
Avatar n tn I have frequent jaw pain, jaw numness and jaw that crack when I chew on something at some point. I saw a dentist lately and he told me that everithing is normal with my teeth an jaw on the x-ray. I also have pain in my ears due to that! My best guess whould be that it is a Chiari symptome.
Avatar m tn A week has gone by from all four impacted wisdom teeth were surgically removed. My jaw on the right side feels like it is locked. I can only open my jaw 1 inch. When I try to open it farther I get excruciating pain and it won't open. Left side is fine. I was very swollen the first three days after surgery. What should I do?
Avatar f tn I had a tooth filled and two days later had to go back and get it extracted. The paid has subsided a lot it has been 24 hours. However, I still feel pain around the front of my mouth at the gum lines both top and bottom. The tooth was extracted from the top back (my left side) of the mouth. It doesn't hurt terrible but its a nagging pain. My mouth and jaw are awfully sore. I have never had such pain before after a tooth extraction. Why are my gum lines feeling sore.
