Avatar f tn How old is your son? Are these baby teeth or adult teeth? I wouldn't pull any adult teeth unless absolutely necessary. Yes, the wisdom teeth could potentially fill in that space but there are complications with that. As the wisdom teeth come in, they don't move sideways into the space but rather, they tilt in and lean in sideways which causes problems with the jaw bone.
Avatar m tn My main concern is jaw pain. After short periods of running I am experiencing pain, specifically around my joints. After doing some light background research I saw this this could be linked to heart disease. Before anyone responds a few points should be made. -I was tested extensively for heart issues when I was 4 due to a benign heart murmur. - I have scoliosis which causes one of my legs to be approx .25 inches shorter than the other. I require the use of a lift in one shoe.
Avatar m tn For the first day, the pain radiated to the left jaw, and for a while seemed to originate from the jaw. Today the pain and pressure is better, but is now radiating to a slight soreness in the left collarbone area. I've also noticed that the pressure sometimes moves up toward the sinuses. I can also feel the pressure slightly in my throat. I have been experiencing some sinus pressure, along with a slightly stuffy nose and post-nasal drip.
Avatar n tn That could cause the pain in the jawbone along with the pain in the ear. I have had it radiate through my jawbone down into my ear and neck and ohhh it hurts...good luck.
Avatar f tn My dentist explained to me that I had TMJ syndrome. It causes discomfort in the jaw and the pain is right infront of the ear.
Avatar f tn Your temporomandibular joint is a hinge that connects your jaw to the temporal bones of your skull, which are in front of each ear. It lets you move your jaw up and down and side to side, so you can talk, chew, and yawn. Problems with your jaw and the muscles in your face that control it are known as temporomandibular disorders (TMD). But you may hear it wrongly called TMJ, after the joint. Causes of TMD We don’t know what causes TMD.
Avatar m tn Can someone just explain why i would feel pain in my head when i tap my jaw with my hand. Anywere on my jaw if i hit it with my hand i feel a jolt of pain in my head?? But i can move my jaw around perfectly so i know its not a jaw problem its almost like something is vibrating into my skull when i hit my jaw.
Avatar f tn Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a neuropathic disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes episodes of intense pain in the eyes, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, and jaw. The condition can bring about stabbing, electric shock-like pain from just a light wind or a finger's glance of the cheek.TN usually develops after the age of 40.
977806 tn?1249067346 One (or both, who knows) of the TX drugs causes bruxism, grinding your teeth in your sleep. Think it's the riba. The grinding can make your jaw hurt in the morning. I ground through a gold crown on TX. See if your dentist can make you a biteguard (also called night guard) so you don't ruin your molars while saving your liver.
Avatar f tn TMJ disorders — a type of temporomandibular disorder or TMD — can cause pain in your jaw joint and in the muscles that control jaw movement. The exact cause of a person's TMJ disorder is often difficult to determine. Your pain may be due to a combination of factors, such as genetics, arthritis or jaw injury. Some people who have jaw pain also tend to clench or grind their teeth, although many people habitually clench or grind their teeth and never develop TMJ disorders.
Avatar f tn Sometimes i can barely open my mouth in morning to brush my teeth. It sometimes locks and sometimes causes ear pain. My dentist has referred me to a jaw specialist in London. Still waiting for the letter.
Avatar n tn I need to know what causes the striking pain in the head that leave the patient num & how can it be treated. It usually happens after the patient had a lengthy talking,it has been happening for years but now it causes the patient to be num.
Avatar n tn s know if you have ever had braces before, but if so, or if you grind your teeth, there is a very good chance you might have TMJ. It causes severe jaw pain because the jaw is not aligning correctly. If it is, you generally can not open your mouth as far due to tightening or sometimes you can even feel or hear it pop.

Avatar n tn This website has the best explanation that I have seen. http://www.aafp.org/afp/20050815/623.html Yes, your tests indicate you are hyperthyroid. Now you and your Drs. need to determine the cause. When I had a hot nodule, my biggest complaint was pain in my tooth, jaw and ear. I don't think that dental work caused the thyroid condition. I do believe that my enlarged thyroid put pressure on a nerve causing the pain. It seems a strange coincidence about the crown though.
Avatar f tn Hi there. This just started? In all honesty, I think this is important to get checked out. There is a variety of things that can case lower jaw pain. First, you need to make sure your teeth are okay! Yes, on both sides. You have to rule out something going on with that. Then TMJ comes to mind. And even your heart can be involved with lower jaw pain. Here is an article to read. But the one that would concern me to immediately rule out is a cardiovascular reason.
Avatar f tn For the past one month I sense a sharp stabbing pain in the bridge of my nose and near the right eye when I chew something in the right jaw ... The pain lasts for few seconds and goes off.. Its very painful at that time.. Is there any cure for this.. What causes this problem?
Avatar f tn Since late on Thursday night, I've been experiencing intermittent pain in my jaw around my upper molar area. The pain radiates from my ear to right above my upper molar. It, also, extends to my lower jaw on the same side. I have had an ongoing problem with sinus congestion, but as of late, it seems to have gotten much better. However, in the past couple of days, I've become congested, again. Could this have anything to do with what's going on?
Avatar n tn why am I having episodes where my chest has pain and my jaw in pain at the same time
Avatar f tn My jaw bacame sore in the beginning I thought I was having a bad toothache and had my dr call in an antibiotic but it didn't help. I guess its because our joints are loosening up and that causes the pain. Even in our jaws. Mine didn't last long maybe a week in a half.
Avatar m tn Since you say the pain started in your jaw a couple of months ago and now you feel it in your ear, I'm thinking it could be TMJ - which is a disorder of the jaw joint. It can cause many symptoms, including ear or jaw pain, as well as headaches, etc. Do you ever catch yourself clenching your jaw? Does your jaw crack or catch when you try to open it wide, such as with yawning?
Avatar f tn My sore throat went away but the lump is still there. Sometimes I have pain in my throat near the lump but it only lasts a second and then goes away. It's on the right side of my face, nothing on the left. Should I be alarms or does it just sound like swollen lymph node?? Help!!
Avatar n tn 4 weeks ago I woke up in the middle of the night with excrusiating jaw and even cheek pain under my eyes. Sometimes even areas of my teeth hurt. Sometimes the pains now are shooting, sometimes it sticks around for 5-20 minutes. It's relieved short term by really pressing on those areas. I went to the dentist and got a bite guard. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to help much after 3 weeks now.

1127040 tn?1289718662 Most people with aortic aneurysms, especially ones in the chest area (thoracic aortic aneurysms ), do not have symptoms. Symptoms may occur if and when the aneurysm gets bigger and puts pressure on surrounding organs. Shortness of breath can relate to a heart condition if the heart is not pumping enough oxygenated blood into circulation as well as many other causes. Aneurysm can cause hoarsness.
