Avatar m tn I am a 26 year old male, 5'11 240 lbs. For the past 3 or 4 months I have been having intermittent left arm pain that tends to change in places where it hurts ranging from my shoulder all the way down to the tips of my fingers and anywhere in between in my arm. Some times it hurts all the way down my arm and sometimes I may just have one little spot on my arm or even finger that hurts by itself. My right arm has hurt occasionally but not very often at all.
Avatar f tn But the one that would concern me to immediately rule out is a cardiovascular reason. Women in particular can have lower left jaw pain during a heart attack. Now, I know this isn't presenting exactly that way for you but still is worth checking out. If you have any other symptoms with it like shortness of breath or chest discomfort, please go to the ER. The one thing that I think is fairly common is nerve compression called Trigeminal neuralgia. This is a big reason we get jaw pain.
Avatar m tn My main concern is jaw pain. After short periods of running I am experiencing pain, specifically around my joints. After doing some light background research I saw this this could be linked to heart disease. Before anyone responds a few points should be made. -I was tested extensively for heart issues when I was 4 due to a benign heart murmur. - I have scoliosis which causes one of my legs to be approx .25 inches shorter than the other. I require the use of a lift in one shoe.
Avatar f tn Almost 2 years ago I had my lower left wisdom tooth removed, ever since I have had problems with my jaw. My jaw now pops, clicks, grinds, and makes crunching noises as well as locks. It causes me a lot of pain at times and seems to now be very sensitive to cold weather. I also notice that when opening and closing my mouth it seems like the alignment of my jaw is wrong, the right side appears to pop out when my mouth opens and the left does not.
Avatar n tn I need to know what causes the striking pain in the head that leave the patient num & how can it be treated. It usually happens after the patient had a lengthy talking,it has been happening for years but now it causes the patient to be num.
Avatar f tn observation they said that it was muscle pain, not heart pain. By that time the pain was gone. Now today again I got left chest pain along with some jaw pain. I am writing with a nitroglycerine tab under my tongue. With slighest wind or loud sound I am getting ear pain and throat pain nowadays. Now I get panicked with jaw pain. How can I distinguish that these chest pains and jaw pains are related to heart or not? Please help me to get rid of this situation.
Avatar f tn On 1st Aug, I had jaw pain after walking for 10 mins. I went to the Emergency. They found no problem with EKG and Blood work, but I was admitted for investigation. Next day Stress Test was done. I got jaw pain after 5 mins, but my pulse rate did not rise. So the test was inconclusive. There was another angiography the next day. There was some thing left behind the earlier stent that was diificult to see. So more stents have been placed now. There has been addition of Felodipine and Ranytidine.
Avatar n tn This website has the best explanation that I have seen. http://www.aafp.org/afp/20050815/623.html Yes, your tests indicate you are hyperthyroid. Now you and your Drs. need to determine the cause. When I had a hot nodule, my biggest complaint was pain in my tooth, jaw and ear. I don't think that dental work caused the thyroid condition. I do believe that my enlarged thyroid put pressure on a nerve causing the pain. It seems a strange coincidence about the crown though.
Avatar m tn You could have something known as TMJ and that causes jaw pain. TemperoMandibularJoint disease can be brought on by repetitive movement of the lower jaw, which can cause lots of pain. You could also have a blocked salivary gland known as siladentits, which causes jaw pain. I would recommend seeing an MD if you have not done so already. Both of the issues I mentioned can be treated with medicine. IF it's siladenitis, it will require an antibiotic to treat.
Avatar m tn m having tightness and pain that radiates from the centre of the chest to the jaw and arms. Sometimes it causes intense fear, but as it is happening frequently latelybi just continue to work with it still happening. Being in the UK means my GP will say it's nothing because I am young, any "weapons" I can use to prove I need help at my next appointment? I have a family history or heart problems, and used to use very dangerous stimulants.
Avatar f tn I have been have episodes of left chest pain and jaw pain for about 2 months. I have had a stress echo which was normal. I had a cardiac ct with calcium scoring in which my calcium score was 0 and my arteries were clear ( they couldn't see my right coronary artery completely but they assured me it wasn't my heart). I have been on Nexium for my stomach and have been referred to a GI doctor but I continue to have this pain and jaw tightness.
Avatar n tn I am a (usually) healthy 22yo male, with no history of heart problems, but for the last year I have been feeling really bad and it is driving me crazy to not be able to live my life as I used to. In the beginning I had a few panic attack where I ended up in hospital thinking I had a heart attack, but after doing EKGs the doctors said there was nothing wrong with me.
Avatar f tn I'm 44, female. I have two heart problems. One is the prolapsed anterior mitral valve which I did the echo-test in 2001. Unfortunately couple days ago, only 10-15 minutes after start in my body combat class, like a heart attack, I fainted, heart pain and severe jaw pain but I didn't collapse. I took a break nearly 30 minutes my heart was getting better and less jaw pain. Actually it was happened to me several times during the tennis course. So I did CT scan test.
146298 tn?1258712247 They go from my eye to my jaw and specific points of pain are jaw, base of skull, top of skull, behind ear, where shoulder meets neck. When I have such a headache I am very dizzy, technically it's vertigo. After the ache has begun my nostril slowly closes itself and adds a bit to the pressure, but I've had sinus headaches and this is different. Something in my head seems to be swelling and blocking the nasal passage rather than the nasal passage being blocked and causing the pain.
Avatar m tn I agree, but you should get into the ER or your doctor. A lot of time heart problems and jaw pain are related.
Avatar f tn HI, Jaw pain and numbness in the left arm are some of the signs of impending heart problems. Jaw pain can be one of the most excruciating pain known to man. oir woman!! You must determine the source of the pain, what is causing it. Something is putting pressure on the trgeminal nerve, it could be putting your hands in hot water, the tissue swells a little, putting pressure onthe nerve causing the pain. Are you unconsously clenching your teeth when running?

Avatar n tn s know if you have ever had braces before, but if so, or if you grind your teeth, there is a very good chance you might have TMJ. It causes severe jaw pain because the jaw is not aligning correctly. If it is, you generally can not open your mouth as far due to tightening or sometimes you can even feel or hear it pop.
Avatar n tn There is no typical cardiogenic chest pain, which is crushing precordial pain radiating to the jaw, arm and neck, relieved with sublingual nitrates. other possibilities for the muscle spasms can be chest injuries, previous chest surgery, possible culprit, any history of athletics, stress fractures , pulled chest muscles. Fibromyalgia is an important condition of chronic fatigue which causes severe muscle pain, with muscle spasms in chest.
1127040 tn?1289718662 Thanks for your reply.. but would you be kind enough to tell me more that WHEN the symptoms have started (in thoratic aortic aneurysm) are they long lasting until they are treated? or do the symptoms resolve on their own on the passage of time without any medical treatment ? Furthermore can you tell me what is the likelihood of a 25 years old guy (who has no history of smoking) can have thoratic aortic aneurysm ?
Avatar f tn It is important that you heart signals be observed when you are experiencing the pain problems. Were in having any of your pain symptoms when an EKG was done? If yes, then a longer term monitor may not yield anything new.
