I have a headache almost everyday of the week and a migraine 2-3 times per month. I only take the Relpax during my migraines and may take tylenol, ibuprofen, or excedrin for my headace without any relief. My MD had spoken with me about taking medicine daily to prevent the occurence of my migraines. I really do not want to take another daily med because I want to have a baby in the next couple of years. The Relpax gives me really bad "jet lag" the whole rest of the day after taking it.
My 18 year old son has terrible migraines and has tried the Imitrex also with terrible results.
He has been using the Relpax and within 20 to 30 mins and only one Relpax pill the headache is gone! He suffered so many years wiht Migraines and now with his dose of Nortriptylin and his relpax as a backup he is living headache free.
Definitely try the Relpax.
Another good option is Relpax. It is a tablet BUT one of the benifits is that it helps with vomiting also. I did fine on this and I'm a huge vomiter (yuck, lack of a better word). Sure wish I had insurance still...Anyway, I'd seriously think of giving Relpax a shot as I was for sure it wouldn't work and it did wonders.
There are a lot of drugs that are prohibited during pregnancy and others that have been proven safe. Adderall is a grey area.
My opinion is that it isn't a good idea to start or resume taking Adderall during pregnancy. If you were currently taking Adderall it would be a different story. I think that is how a lot of doctors might see it too. However, you could probably find a doctor to proscribe it.

I think there is a problem using Deseril 24hours after a Relpax which is making things a bit difficult. I have made an appointment with another doctor to get a second opinion tomorrow and some more info about the meds I am on.
In the last few days, I have removed chocolate and aspartame from my diet. I don't think it has made much of a difference but I will give it a couple of weeks just to see.
Maybe it would be good for you to take a preventive drug during a period of time until your hormones have settled down again. You already use botox injections, which is a preventive treatment, but it is very expensive and only moderatly effective in most cases. The most comon medicines are perhaps Amitriptyline, Propranolol or Topomax. Amitriptyline for example is very cheap and effective.
I have been taking Relpax 40 ml for the coming on of a migraine. I have been getting fewer and fewer over the years.
However, I am only allowed 9 pills for the month thru my health insurance. Is there another new migraine medicine out there that I could get that would be similier but would allow me more pills for the month.
Is it safe for a woman to receive massage during pregnancy? Some massage classes say massage of the feet, and/ or calves, or during the first trimester, could cause a miscarriage. Other classes say it is safe to massage a woman throughout her pregnancy, only avoiding deep pressure. Still other classes specifically recommend extra work on a pregnant woman's feet and calves. Any advice or information is greatly appreciated.
