relpax

Avatar m tn His Doctor told him to go to our GP for pills to treat his side effects. We finally went to see a liver specialist and found out he was allergic to the meds and should abort them immediately. There was a supposed 98% cure rate for this type of Hep C but it did nothing but tear down his body. On major side effect is Cluster Headaches. They are migraines that last for days and weeks and are very frequent. The only small relief is acupuncture. Has anyone else experienced this?
Avatar n tn If you are finding that the relpax is causing unwanted side-effects, there are other triptan medications you can try for acute therapy: - Rizatriptan, brand name Maxalt. tastes pretty bad, but a lot of my friends swear by it. - Sumatriptan, brand name Imitrex. really not very effective at all in the tablet form. the most effective triptan out there pretty much in injection form... what they give you in the hospital.
Avatar n tn Did they instruct you that if you take too many Relpax in a week that you can have migraine rebound? I too have Relpax and my script says no more than 2/day and 3/week because if I do it could cause migraine rebound.
1125820 tn?1265284446 Hi MsConfusedone, You mention that you have been on almost everything, can you be more specific? It would help knowing exactly what you have tried so that I could suggest medications that you have not tried. Also, how many migraines do you get per month? Yes, most migraine medications do work well for most people. But, not everyone has the same success with all medications. For acute treatment of migraine headaches, first line treatment is triptans.
1088430 tn?1259159773 Also, In case your insurance doesn't cover your entire Relpax prescription, I am posting a link to a coupon for $15 off of your Relpax prescriptions. You apparently can't use this coupon if you have any sort of federal or state insurance, or if your private insurance covers 100% of the prescription. Otherwise, you can print this coupon and use it every time you fill your Relpax prescription (but it expires next April).
Avatar f tn I took Depakote nightly to prevent migraines and had Relpax for the ocassional beak through migraine. The Depakote worked well for more than a year, and I had no side effects. It might be worth asking about. When it no longer worked for me, I tried an alternative with bad results. I've ended up taking a 12-hr sinus/allergy pill during the day, a benedryl at night, increased exercise, and am eating better. This seems to work for me most of the time now. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I have heard that Inderal does have a high side-effect profile. I take the betablocker nadolol and have not noticed any side-effects yet... you might want to talk to your doctor about switching you to a different betablocker if the Inderal is giving you such terrible side-effects... maybe ask about Nadolol, a few of us here take it.. your doctor will know though what the most appropriate betablocker to try next is though. There are two other classes of preventative medication as well...
Avatar n tn Since your panic attacks are happening less, are the headaches numerous and a reason that you cannot take the medication anymore? Or are some of the side effects okay with you now that your anxiety is much better? What does your prescribing doctor say about this? Headaches can also be caused by an endless number of factors in my opinon. Are you getting enough sleep? Are you still under a lot of stress? The point is, that the headaches may not even be related to the medication itself.
1413564 tn?1281822991 If you have any prescriptions, they told me I could take my ultram (I have Fibromyalgia) with the benadryl and nausea med (Have it for side effects of FIbromyalgia) and it works like a charm. Weirdest thing too, because I have had migraines for 15 years and this worked pretty fast and didn't make me totally out of it. It was kinda cool.
1495558 tn?1288805527 this does not sound like a normal reaction, and why, for heavens sake, if she is having these side effects, should she stay on it.

Avatar f tn Hi Jennifer, How are you? Medication side effects may or may not occur to patients. You were given pain medication, anti-inflammatory, antihistamine and antipsychotic/tranqulizer. You may experience gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting and sedative effects. However, it is important that any sign of allergic reaction such as difficulty of breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. twitching or tremor will warrant immediate attention. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I'm 25 years old and got my arrhythmia diagnosed for the first time today, so I'm a bit clueless here. A few weeks ago, my PCP put my on blood pressure meds to control my slightly elevated bp, which was when I started noticing my heart racing very easily, I would black out if I stood up quickly- and things just kept getting worse. I stopped the new medication after 5 days of taking it.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had any side effects from Depakote ER? My 24 year old son was just diagnosed with Seizures, after experiencing several episodes of lost of consciousness. Can anyone out there tell me if they have had constant nausea, fatigue and some heartburn from the medication?
Avatar f tn Did you taper off the vibryd or quit abruptly? You can't just switch from one medication to another even in the same class and avoid withdrawal -- these meds are not easy to stop taking and it must be done carefully. Unless you completely stop taking a medication before starting another it's impossible to tell if your symptoms are a sign you're suffering withdrawal and quit too quickly or are side effects of the new medication.
Avatar m tn I doubt this combination would be approved if it was dangerous. But all drugs may have side effects, and if you get bothersome side effects, you should report them to your doctor. Good luck.
Avatar n tn s always a good idea to read the information the pharmacy includes with the medication so you are aware of what side effects are possible and what side effects may be something you need to contact your prescriber about. But yes, Headaches can be a side effect of beginning the medication. Usually ear ringing is associated with stopping the medication but has been reported while beginning it also in some.
Avatar f tn Like... they said at 10mg there are very few side-effects and at 20mg there are noticeable side-effects. But, you obviously don't want to change the dose on your own, as this can be extremely dangerous! But, it would be worth talking to your doctor about if the side-effects don't go away fast enough. Although... most of the time... with SSRIs in general I find, it can take 2 to 4 weeks for side-effects to go away and then they're gone for good.
Avatar n tn I have been prescribed Acebutolol for PVC's and I am literally exhausted since beginning this medication but I didn't see that as one of the side effects. Also, my vision is blurred. Is this normal?
