appendicitis

Avatar f tn Desperate on Thursday I went to dr in so much pain. I couldn’t fart or poop and he just said he couldn’t rule out appendicitis but recommended I go to the hospital. He told me to take miralax which I did and it made indigestion worse but help somewhat the farts I could fart if I strained. But no matter how much I strained it didn’t feel like the dull ache was going away.
Avatar f tn Now the next day my lower right stomach is pretty tender, nowhere else, just lower right side. Should I be worried about appendicitis? Could it be tender from extreme gas and bloating? Thoughts?
Avatar m tn It could be a combo of period and gas! Gas is terrible painful at times, but combining menstrual cramping with gas is super painful! I've had it. I'd eat some bland foods (if that helps) and get a hot water bottle to ease the cramps.
Avatar f tn I have not vomited or had diarrhea nor do I have a fever. Do I have appendicitis or is it just gas?
Avatar f tn He described abdominal pain that sounded like it could be gas or early appendicitis. I told him to take Gas-Ex and lie down. When I got home, he still had the pain, even lying down. I pressed on his abdomen and he had more pain. Didn't really know what I was doing, but just gently pressed around and he moaned. The pain had moved from his umbilicus to more in the right lower quadrant.
Avatar f tn They did an Ultrasound which was highly susceptible for appendicitis it showed that it was not compressable, had minimal hypermiea, I was very tender and showed top normally enlarged. So since on Ultrasound it was highly showed appendicitis they took me right away to have a CT Scan with contrast which didn’t show any inflammation of appendix but showed two cysts on right ovary largest measures 2.1cm. So doctor in ER confirmed that my right quadrant stomach pain is due to the cysts.
Avatar f tn So my question is, is this appendicitis, or is this endometriosis? My anxiety is out of control. Could appendicitis take this long to develop? I am on Loestrin 24 (birth control) and my fever has gone away. The pain and nausea comes and goes. I've been going through this for about a year now. Please help me.
Avatar n tn s causing cramps. It could be gas and/or constipation, in which case the only thing for relief is to work the gas out by moving or having a bm. It could be false or early labor. If you've seriously been in pain for 8 hours and it's so severe you can't move than its probably time to go to the ER and get checked out.
Avatar m tn I had a UTI about 2 months ago could i have another? Oh and i feel like i have trappe gas and it travels all over my stomach.
Avatar f tn Appendicitis! Get her to a doctor! Please!
Avatar f tn It may be really gross but you should feel tons better if it is a possible GI track issue. I know your hurting but it also helps if you can get up and walk around, walking helps pain, especially abdominal pain.
Avatar m tn Does anyone knows why this pain? What is it?
Avatar f tn t aware that laying on their right side can cause gas to build up in your colon and form a gas bubble. The way the colon is shaped and with the gas rising upward, when laying on the right side it gets trapped in the ascending and transverse sections of the colon and is not as easily expelled as it is when laying on the left side. I recommend trying some OTC treatments like beano, gas X, prilosec, prevacid, Mylanta, mylox etc. for a few days.
1615943 tn?1410627667 If you were a "normal" patient, I might suggest that you wait it out, or try an anti-gas remedy. However, with that shunt, I'd suggest that you seek mediccal attention. Perhaps an ER visit is not appropriate -- call your pain doctor's or neurologist's office and ask his/her advice.
1003498 tn?1263919526 the pain was never severe, like people often describe it as. It did become more constant that night, but never unbearable. Appendicitis is a life threatening condition if your appendix bursts, so you may wish to see your doctor just to be safe.
Avatar n tn I suggest that you go quickly to your Emergency/accident department and ask them either to rule out appendicitis - or else confirm it and carry out the necessary operation.
Avatar n tn Could you be pregnant or have your appendix still? Is it on the right lower part of your lower belly. Is there any fever, vomiting? Are you sexually active and have you missed your period? It could be a tubal pregnancy. You really need to go to the ER if it doesn't subside. Or could it be gas, is it traveling pain? Have you taken anything for the pain yet? Gas pills, Tylenol, Advil, anything at all?
Avatar n tn like a gas moving around or a bowel movement yet no real need to pass gas or use the bathroom. It can also be compared to a feeling of fullness, like after a big meal, yet localized in a small area of my abdomen (lower-right side 2 inches to the right of my belly button).
Avatar m tn My MAJOR concern is appendicitis - as I know how important it is to get the appendix taken out before it bursts. Given that my pains are not concentrated in the right and not that intense, does it seem unlikely to ne appendicitis? Could appendix symptoms drag on this long (it's coming up for a week). The pain has got no worse and if anything seems to be improving. Also, would appendicitis symptoms usually go after eating a meal? I'm extremely anxious and worried right now.
Avatar m tn They bite into the gut wall when they grow or mate, and can lead to appendicitis on the long term. the pain is usually right or left or even underneath the belly button, and feels like a pinch with a needle or, if more severe, a hot knife. Get a scotch tape test done, best in the week after full moon (they are more active then). Good luck.
Avatar n tn There is such a think as a chronic appendicitis (its an appendicitis that progresses relatively slowly). It is best to have it removed because if it bursts it can become life-threatening.
Avatar f tn Not to cause panic, but seeing someone is always the best bet. Appendicitis can come and go, but you can hardly go wrong getting it checked out. For certain, eat only bland foods for a bit with all those symptoms. Clear soups, tapioca, jello. No nuts or anything hard to digest. Whatever you have, you'll be doing your GI system a favor. Don't panic, though. You could have mild food poisoning (very common) or a GI virus or bacterial infection.
Avatar f tn See a doctor. That pain and shortness of breath sounds a lot like angina, which occurs when a cardiac arterry becomes partly blocked and some heart muscle isn't getting enough oxygen. If it is that, you're headed for a heart attack if it isn't fixed. With the heart, anything that even might be a problem needs to be checked.
