Common Questions and Answers about Symptoms of appendicitis or gas

appendicitis

Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn I felt much better outside of mild abdominal discomfort from gas still. Now the next day my lower right stomach is pretty tender, nowhere else, just lower right side. Should I be worried about appendicitis? Could it be tender from extreme gas and bloating? Thoughts?
Avatar m tn It could be a combo of period and gas! Gas is terrible painful at times, but combining menstrual cramping with gas is super painful! I've had it. I'd eat some bland foods (if that helps) and get a hot water bottle to ease the cramps.
Avatar f tn Desperate on Thursday I went to dr in so much pain. I couldn’t fart or poop and he just said he couldn’t rule out appendicitis but recommended I go to the hospital. He told me to take miralax which I did and it made indigestion worse but help somewhat the farts I could fart if I strained. But no matter how much I strained it didn’t feel like the dull ache was going away.
Avatar f tn I'm scared out of my mind that I have appendicitis but also I don't know whether it could be something psychological or a muscle pull. It's in my abdominal area, kind of lower but sometimes goes up and on the right hand side. I've been passing gas a bit which relieves me a bit but the achy pain is still there.
1003498 tn?1263919526 now i am sitting fine but i have to sit very upright or i can feel the pain. my only problem with thinking it was gas or something with my colon was that when i had a bowel movement the pain did not get better. it just stayed the same. and my reason for not thinking it was female pain was it didnt feel the same as what i experienced before. i know i am not pregnant so that is not an option although everyone on the outside just assumes thats what it is. but that is not possible.
Avatar f tn I think by changing a few bedtime habits and taking some antacid or anti gas medication you will most likely get relief from your symptoms. I Hope This Works. Have A Nice Night!
Avatar n tn Both that I did find indicated a fairly high frequency of appendicitis within 18 months of gallbladder removal. Hopefully, they are wrong, I have about 6 months to go.
Avatar n tn I have recently been experiencing right side pain and mentioned it to my GP. He sent me for a CT which confirmed mild appendicitis. Don't have typical appendicitis symptoms other than pain and some nausea. My doc says to get it taken out. I went for a consult with a general surgeon and he said he isn't 100% that's my appendix since I don't have all the acute symptoms. He said there is no such thing as chronic appendicitis and my doc says "oh yes there is". UGH...
Avatar f tn I have all of this too and it hurts so bad I called the emergency doctor on call at the hospital I plan on giving birth at. He said to take a tums... ugh.
Avatar f tn So my question is, is this appendicitis, or is this endometriosis? My anxiety is out of control. Could appendicitis take this long to develop? I am on Loestrin 24 (birth control) and my fever has gone away. The pain and nausea comes and goes. I've been going through this for about a year now. Please help me.
Avatar f tn ve looked into appendicitis symptoms and wondered if I should be seen soon, or only if the pain returns?
Avatar f tn And then one day (a day ago) I got bloated and I heard a lot of gurgling in my intestines which I think was gas. The next day it was the same in the morning but I kind of massaged my stomach a bit and began to pass gas. I also had two bowel movements afterward, both pencil thin. As well as one this morning that was mushy and broke off. I also have this pain right beside my belly button, like lower right hand side. It doesn't hurt all the time but if I touch it, it's tender.
Avatar m tn I took plan B on the last day of my period which was december 25th and starting on the 29th i had soreness in what seems like right above the ovaries, a pain on each side of my abdomen. I also have this pulsating around my belly button and it will shoot down to the right side then give me back pain. I also have headaches and have gotten easily hot and overheated during the night. I know im not pregnant because ive testes and JUST came off my period and it was normal. Could this be my apendix?
Avatar f tn Hi, thank you. Yes, I don't think it is appendicitis due to the fact that I haven't felt any symptoms of severe nausea or vomiting. The pain also hasn't increased or changed very much in the last 24 hours. It does hurt a bit when I put pressure onto it, but only ever tightly dull, and it isn't so sharp or severe that I have to jar my hand away. I haven't taken any medications and there haven't been any symptoms of fever either.
Avatar f tn t be causing me my pain. She said my symptoms sounded like appendicitis and sent me to the hospital for a CT scan. The scan came back normal. The following day the pain increased and I went to the ER. They also saw the cyst on ultrasound and admitted me for further tests. Spent 4 days in that hospital with a colonoscopy done (also normal). I told them it may be a hernia and they called a gen surgeon to examine me.
Avatar m tn Also, I would ask for a blood test to rule out appendicitis, sometimes this can be a sign of beginning appendicitis, you certainly do not want it to get worse.
Avatar f tn My stomach is constantly making gurgling noises and it feels like there are gas bubbles inside of me. I am really, really scared that something serious is going on with me. I am an anxious person in general so I have been researching all my symptoms, and it always comes back to appendicitis. I have an appointment with my doctor in two days, but I am just so afraid something really bad is happening to me. I tried to tell her that but she just said sorry, I will see you when I can.
Avatar m tn So, I was just woken up with some abdominal pain in my lower right abdomen... When I sleep, I lay face-down, and doing so makes the pain come back. Sitting up, standing, and laying on my back are fine. But, there is a sort of pressure in the area. It's not really strong or painful, but it's there. Other than that, I am burping a lot for no reason - At time of writing the last time I ate was nearly 10 hours ago.
Avatar m tn I have been doing so much research, and I can relate to every single testimony I have seen about people with chronic appendicitis in some way or another. I am 99% sure that I have it. The only 1% of doubt that I have is the fact that my appendix hasn't been taken out yet. So, after giving my background, my real question is where I can find a surgeon to help me. I live in Michigan, so I would prefer to have a reference for someone nearby, but at this point I'll take anything.
Avatar m tn Do certain foods trigger symptoms or make them worse? Did you get a copy of the operative report from your surgeon? Sometimes there's info on the report that your doc doesn't share with you verbally. Not to say they're withholding anything, but some things don't seem important at the time. Maybe some additional info will prompt more responses here.
Avatar f tn t develop fever or vomiting with my appendicitis, reason why it was hard to diagnose, especially because it was behind my ceccum (for 1 month doctors suspected ovary pain...until my appendix burst). Can this time be stump appendicitis and doctors mistake it for cysts again?? I'm scared...
203342 tn?1328737207 I mean, it could be as simple as trapped gas, right? Or maybe I need to change my diet better. I do know certain foods don't agree with me, like dairy, etc., and I did get a little lax this last year, but I'm trying to watch more now. There's no blood or weight loss but then there never was before I was diagnosed, either. It was a shock to be diagnosed with Crohns to begin with because I didn't show all the typical symptoms. What do you all think? Could it just be diet related?
Avatar m tn I have severe pain around my belly button for last 3 years. Started with a minor pain but now it has become routine. I have done 2 Upper and Lower Colonoscopy, Barium test, Capsule test and 3 Hida scans. The current one showed 94 percent ejection fraction. I get bloated and pain radiates to sternum and mid and lower back and sometimes right hand side ribs hurts too. Feel like pulling sensation and cramps(twisted) around belly.
