One thing which startled me was that when you said Glargine insulin has a peak hour. I visit a non private hospital to do my diabetes follow up once every 4 months and sometimes these doctors are soo busy as they have so many patients to look at. Thats why i m asking help over here..thanks.

Patients with risk factors for diabetes mellitus (eg, obesity, family history of diabetes) who are starting treatment with atypical antipsychotics should undergo fasting blood glucose testing at the beginning of treatment. Any patient treated with atypical antipsychotics should be monitored for symptoms of hyperglycemia including polydipsia, polyuria, polyphagia, and weakness.
Chronic infection with HCV is associated with insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and type 2 diabetes [61]. The prevalence of type 2 diabetes has been reported to be 14–50% in patients with chronic HCV infection [62]. HCV-associated diabetes is characterized by insulin resistance and does not appear to be associated with antibodies directed towards the beta cells in the islets of Langerhans [63].
I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes ..We tried the oral meds for a bit and eventually had to move on to Insulin shots twice a day...Well I started an insulin pump when my son was born in 2003. I have been on it ever since. I know I am insulin dependent because I cannot take my pump off except for the rare few minutes or so without my sugar sky rocketing. Now would u still call this Type 2 Diabetes or Type 1?

Your doctor's advice is surprising to me, also. I'm guessing that s/he is not a diabetes specialist and that's the type of physician who should be guiding your diabetes care. Specialists might be called endocrinologist or diabetologist.
None of us here is a physician, but we're long-time diabetics or care-givers for diabetic children.
You didn't mention if you've been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2, and the treatment options vary for these types.
Simply stated, ATP is what fuels our bodies. However, an individual with type 2 diabetes mellitus does not produce sufficient insulin or is not capable of utilizing endogenous insulin in order to facilitate the transport of glucose into the cells. This results in hyperglycemia. This does not mean that all carbohydrates must be avoided but it is necessary to limit carbohydrate intake and to choose what are called complex carbohydrates in place of simple carbohydrates.
One can typically prevent type 2 diabetes by lifestyle choices of proper weight, exercise and eating habits. This is considered non insulin diabetes. With type 2 diabetes, blood sugar is too high. The body doesn't make insulin well anymore or use it well. It's usually slow developing and can be reversed.

it is good you went to the dr when you did. You may wish to ask your Dr if he will test you for type 1 diabetes, which you may possibly have given your age and how high your sugars were. If it is type 1 diabetes, you will need to continue taking insulin rather than oral meds.
Please learn as much as you can about diabetes. It is managed through diet, exercise and medications (insulin and/or oral).
Does anyone else have type 2 diabetes with pregnancy? I'm not eating a ton of carbs but my numbers are still on the high side.
Have you asked your doctors about the insulin pump. It allows you to set a basal rate of insulin using fast acting insulins (Humalog) for very specific time periods. This will allow you to adjust dosages based on your very specific needs. I have had great success using it. Prior to using the pump I also had difficult time with overnight and morning blood glucose levels. My last A1C was 5.9 it really workds!!!
