Inderal la mg

Common Questions and Answers about Inderal la mg

inderal

Avatar n tn t aggravate tremors and so your feeling of increased head shaking cannot be attributed to Inderal. For a person with an essential tremor, the starting dose of Inderal is 40 mg twice a day. Based on the tremor response and/or Inderal side effects, your healthcare provider may increase or decrease the Inderal dosage. Hence, the dose you are taking is suboptimum and may not be of any benefit in your tremor.
Avatar f tn On January 18, 2011, my doctor put me on Inderal LA 60 mg because a stupid doctor upped my thyroid medicine too much and my heart rate and BP went off the chart. I have not taken any thyroid hormone since January 18th. While the Inderal has helped lower the BP and heart rate, I am having significant side effects from it and just wondered if others had experienced the same thing. I am quite fatigued but the most disturbing thing is I'm having very vivid and scary dreams.
Avatar f tn Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day. For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the reply.....I agree the hardest part is taking propafenone 3x's aday. Dr.had me stop the Propafenone( I don't really know why) and go on 80 mg.of Inderal LA....wow....I went to pieces as far as my AF....stayed on the propafenone for 7 days....got worse everyday. With Drs' ok I went back to propafenone 325 x 3 and Inderal 10mg x 2 aday...maybe they will formulate a LA form of propafenone soon.
Avatar n tn i have been taking these capsules called inderal la for my depression and anxiety and they are not helping at all with my condition and i wanted to know if anybody else was taking the same medication and if it has helped them.
Avatar m tn t controlling my tachycardia so well so they just took me off of it last week when I was admitted back into the hospital and put me on Inderal LA 120 mg. daily. I think the symptoms are even worse on this one...I have been so fatigued, depressed and absolutely no energy. Normally I use to be full of energy, never felt tired and was always happy and not ever depressed. I think I would rather deal with the tachycardia and SVT's than the side effects of the medication.
Avatar f tn My endo prescribed Inderal 20 mg twice a day for my rapid heart beat he said since I was subclinical hyperthyroism right now and have been for the past year that treating the thyroid was not warrented. My question is inderal going to help my anxiety and my rapid heart beat? this seems like a high dose of bld pressure medicine for someone who has never taken any before. Is the dosage in the right range?
Avatar m tn but found too many breakthroughs lately so my dr switched me to Inderal LA. last week.... my dr explained back in 2010 that the lower doses were better to begin with to get your body used to it and so I wouldn't become immune to it so quickly. My system is very sensitive and it only takes a small amount of meds to begin with for me to notice it.
778037 tn?1377986200 The efficacy of propranolol in the treatment of a migraine attack that has started has not been established, and propranolol is not indicated for such use. The initial dose is 80 mg Inderal daily in divided doses. The usual effective dose range is 160 mg to 240 mg per day. The dosage may be increased gradually to achieve optimum migraine prophylaxis. If a satisfactory response is not obtained within four to six weeks after reaching the maximum dose, Inderal therapy should be discontinued.
Avatar f tn Hi I have many different heart arrhythmias and I take Inderal la 60 , my heart rate is most of the time in the 50's I am having a Colonoscopy and my Dr. wants me to do Magnesium-Dulcolax prep . I feel that it would be dangerous to take it since that would probably increase my slow heart rate. What is a safe prep for people with heart condition like that?
194555 tn?1264286923 In my experience these side effect occur only at high dose levels, for me an Metoprolol (I do not know the dose equivalence to inderal) is over 100 mg. When I was started on 50 mg I did not have any side effects that I noticed. Take the prescribed medication is my view, and be calm, don't think about side effects. Still, be careful and don't jump up from a restful position and run down the stairs to the door bell, or the like.
Avatar f tn My GP prescribed Inderal LA 60 mg, which I took for two days and then stopped b/c I felt very lethargic. The cardiologist wants to wait until after the holter test to give me anything b/c he doesn't want to suppress the "events" as he calls them. Obviously I can't wait to suppress the events! So at least I know if anything gets really bad I have the Inderal temporarily.
957923 tn?1246732553 I take Inderal LA 120mg 1x a day and I also take bcp (Yasmin) and Metformin 500mg 2x for weight loss. My doctor knew I was on Inderal LA and said it was fine. Talk to your doctor about getting on Metformin. It works great and with that I've lost 60 + lbs with it. I have all the symptoms that you have too, except I don't have high blood pressure. I wouldn't consider the lap band surgery (only as a last resort).
Avatar n tn i took inderal for years i took 10 mg twice a day , it was good for me but after a while it didnt help with my pac/pvc so i switched to timiolol and its great, bneen on it for 17 years with no problems .
Avatar n tn They have been using different meds to try to help with the headaches and now she is on Inderal LA 80 once a day. It helps some but what do we need to do? Do we need to go through with the TEE or what?
Avatar m tn I do not have any experience with "inderal" but see it is a beta blocker that can be used to control/reduce high heart rate. I have used Toprol and Metroprolo, and in heavy dose. My experience is that those beta blocker do reduce the heart rate and in high dose will cause some dizziness in me. I currently am taking 50 mg of Metroprolo twice a day and have little or no side effects.
Avatar m tn I did several ecg, echo and blood tests but everything is perfectly fine.. I was put on 10 mg inderal for 20 days and started seeing a psychologist Which made me feel much better and I stopped inderal... But each time I get the chest and arm pain, I panic and start having all kinds of thoughts..
Avatar f tn I was told to switch from 150 mg Zoloft to 20 mg of lexapro and I am also taking 5 mg of abilify. I am SO WORRIED the lexapro will make e dizzy. Please anyone have insight in this. Please help. I am freaking out and so worried.
967168 tn?1477584489 I went from 1 - 60 mg Inderal ER capsule daily to twice daily which worked really well for pvc's/vt but didn't lower my bp enough. My dr decided to switch me to 120mg once daily; which has lowered my bp back down. I've noticed quite alot of symptoms such as chest pains, my heart in the place where it used to "ache" and hurt before ablation hurts alot during the day (underneath bottom inside) and if I lay on my left side I can feel my heart pumping harder.
Avatar f tn I also suffer from migraines (not period related) but you may need something along the line of Imitrex to ease the pain away and something like Inderal LA to control how many migraines you get. I've been on Inderal LA for over 5 years now and been a suffer since I was 15. As far as your gyn issues, you need a doctor. They need to run tests on you to confirm what you are dealing with. I know how you feel on finding a doctor, I had allot of issues with finding the right doctor.
547002 tn?1219797376 I am planning on weaning off Inderal can anyone tell me what side effects i need to look for? Thanks!
Avatar m tn t shake so bad. He is on 160 mg of Inderal also and it helps some but not enough. Please let me know if you find anything that helps you.
Avatar f tn I started taking Inderal yesterday, and have taken 2 so far. The thing is, my PVC's are worse! By alot. I don't know whether to stop taking them. My Cardiologist hasn't called me back, and I've called twice. Magnesium sometime helps them, and a couple weeks ago, Potassium helped. I don't know whether to take them or not. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn ve been taking Propanolol since Dec 2009 20mg as needed until a new cardiologist switched me to 60mg of Inderal LA. The extended release or long acting works so much better than using the other and I don't notice as many ups and downs with my HR. He just switched me again to 120mg but I had to go back to 60mg twice daily because the 120mg at once gave me some major symptoms esp shortness of breath and tachycardia.
Avatar m tn Dear Doctor, I started undergoing treatment for hyperthyroidism last june2012 and my endo initially gave me 20 mg Tapdin for about a month and it reacted well although my thyroid tests (TSH,T3 and T4) are not yet normal. Then in my 2nd check-up, she lowered the doses and added inderal for my tremors and fast heartbeat. On my 3rd checkup, TSH lowered up to <0.10 while T3 and T4 are near normal. She advised me to return to 20 mg dosage. I observed acne on my face and it irritated me.
Avatar n tn I too suffer from them for the past 8 years and currently take Inderal LA 120mg once a day. It prevents the migraines, although sometimes my sinus headaches can trigger a migraine but its a rare thing. I know for me, stress triggers most of my migraines. Talk to your doctor. Im only being treated by my GP.
Avatar f tn Told by primary that I will have to go on ACE inhibitor because this means my heart is not slowing between beats. By the way, I have been on 120 mgs a day of Inderal LA for severe migraines, throwing PVC and palpitaitions for 18 years -- fabulous medication. Question: Since my BP - diastolic is never (except one recent time after bites) above 80 and usually 60 to 74, this could be a false reading if the bites were in fact Lymes disease or not relationship?
Avatar m tn Subjects were randomly assigned to 4 groups, including placebo. The other 3 groups received LA 600 mg twice a day, 1,200 mg once a day, or 1,200 mg twice a day, for 14 days. The study found LA to be generally well tolerated, but peak plasma levels of LA varied among subjects. As would be expected in a short duration study, there was no change in disability caused by multiple sclerosis as assessed by the Expanded Disability Status Score.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a female college student who has suffered from migraines since I was about 12. I see a neurologist for this, and he put me on Inderal 160 mg extended release three years ago. It has worked relatively well. However, I have just learned my father has lost his job, and our benefits will be ending in a month and a half. I am wondering how to wean myself off of the pills, since I know it is not safe to just stop them.
