Avatar f tn Thanks for the reply.....I agree the hardest part is taking propafenone 3x's aday. Dr.had me stop the Propafenone( I don't really know why) and go on 80 mg.of Inderal LA....wow....I went to pieces as far as my AF....stayed on the propafenone for 7 days....got worse everyday. With Drs' ok I went back to propafenone 325 x 3 and Inderal 10mg x 2 aday...maybe they will formulate a LA form of propafenone soon.
Avatar m tn but found too many breakthroughs lately so my dr switched me to Inderal LA. last week.... my dr explained back in 2010 that the lower doses were better to begin with to get your body used to it and so I wouldn't become immune to it so quickly. My system is very sensitive and it only takes a small amount of meds to begin with for me to notice it.
Avatar f tn On January 18, 2011, my doctor put me on Inderal LA 60 mg because a stupid doctor upped my thyroid medicine too much and my heart rate and BP went off the chart. I have not taken any thyroid hormone since January 18th. While the Inderal has helped lower the BP and heart rate, I am having significant side effects from it and just wondered if others had experienced the same thing. I am quite fatigued but the most disturbing thing is I'm having very vivid and scary dreams.
Avatar n tn i have been taking these capsules called inderal la for my depression and anxiety and they are not helping at all with my condition and i wanted to know if anybody else was taking the same medication and if it has helped them.
Avatar f tn Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day. For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
Avatar f tn Hi I have many different heart arrhythmias and I take Inderal la 60 , my heart rate is most of the time in the 50's I am having a Colonoscopy and my Dr. wants me to do Magnesium-Dulcolax prep . I feel that it would be dangerous to take it since that would probably increase my slow heart rate. What is a safe prep for people with heart condition like that?
Avatar m tn Dr. Chahine......I, too, have been diagnosed w/essential tremors. I have taken Inderal 60 LA for several years and it does help, but the tremors have gotten more intense over the years. (I am a 70 yr old female). I have tried to take mysoline and it knocked me out, so no more of that. Would increasing the dosage of Inderal help?
Avatar f tn I've tried alot of different beta blockers, calcium channel blockers and other ones I can't remember what they were. The only one I can tolerate is a very low dosage of short acting inderal. I started on the lowest dosage and I've haven't had to increase it. I take it on an "as needed" basis. I had some bad reactions to the others I tried. It works for me but we are all individuals.
Avatar f tn My endo prescribed Inderal 20 mg twice a day for my rapid heart beat he said since I was subclinical hyperthyroism right now and have been for the past year that treating the thyroid was not warrented. My question is inderal going to help my anxiety and my rapid heart beat? this seems like a high dose of bld pressure medicine for someone who has never taken any before. Is the dosage in the right range?
778037 tn?1377986200 how long does it take for this to start working? Is it days, weeks? I have been taking it since Thursday and no relief yet. I will give it time...
Avatar f tn I started taking Inderal yesterday, and have taken 2 so far. The thing is, my PVC's are worse! By alot. I don't know whether to stop taking them. My Cardiologist hasn't called me back, and I've called twice. Magnesium sometime helps them, and a couple weeks ago, Potassium helped. I don't know whether to take them or not. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I have been researching my options and noticed that Inderal has been indicated for all three. Is it possible to take this drug to alleviate the symptoms of all 3? If so, what is the recommended dosage for each of the three? Thank you so much for you time!
967168 tn?1477584489 I went from 1 - 60 mg Inderal ER capsule daily to twice daily which worked really well for pvc's/vt but didn't lower my bp enough. My dr decided to switch me to 120mg once daily; which has lowered my bp back down. I've noticed quite alot of symptoms such as chest pains, my heart in the place where it used to "ache" and hurt before ablation hurts alot during the day (underneath bottom inside) and if I lay on my left side I can feel my heart pumping harder.
957923 tn?1246732553 I take Inderal LA 120mg 1x a day and I also take bcp (Yasmin) and Metformin 500mg 2x for weight loss. My doctor knew I was on Inderal LA and said it was fine. Talk to your doctor about getting on Metformin. It works great and with that I've lost 60 + lbs with it. I have all the symptoms that you have too, except I don't have high blood pressure. I wouldn't consider the lap band surgery (only as a last resort).
Avatar n tn They have been using different meds to try to help with the headaches and now she is on Inderal LA 80 once a day. It helps some but what do we need to do? Do we need to go through with the TEE or what?
Avatar f tn m going to suck it up and take it tomm. do you know what the intial dosage of propanolol for anxiety is? i thought 20mg might me too much? maybe just splitting it in half..i was trying to search on here to see how the dosage was for someone with anxiety but couldnt really find much except horror stories im trying to avoid..
Avatar f tn I also suffer from migraines (not period related) but you may need something along the line of Imitrex to ease the pain away and something like Inderal LA to control how many migraines you get. I've been on Inderal LA for over 5 years now and been a suffer since I was 15. As far as your gyn issues, you need a doctor. They need to run tests on you to confirm what you are dealing with. I know how you feel on finding a doctor, I had allot of issues with finding the right doctor.
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed 40mg inderal to be taken 3x day for high blood pressure, aswell as anxiety, i have been taking this for little over a week now, i have just been reading up on reviews, to check my side affects (of extreme fatique, dizzyness and brain fog). And have come across this website which has scared the crap out of me.. Which has made me now take the last 2 doses Please can you help me understand. Thankyou http://www.druglib.
Avatar f tn Early my b/p was 138/93 and pulse 70 I took 120mg of Inderal. Took a nap woke up b/p was 147/83 and pulse was 77. I took a second Inderal. My headache is still lingering but my b/p is now 127/82 and pulse 67.
Avatar n tn I too suffer from them for the past 8 years and currently take Inderal LA 120mg once a day. It prevents the migraines, although sometimes my sinus headaches can trigger a migraine but its a rare thing. I know for me, stress triggers most of my migraines. Talk to your doctor. Im only being treated by my GP.
Avatar f tn Told by primary that I will have to go on ACE inhibitor because this means my heart is not slowing between beats. By the way, I have been on 120 mgs a day of Inderal LA for severe migraines, throwing PVC and palpitaitions for 18 years -- fabulous medication. Question: Since my BP - diastolic is never (except one recent time after bites) above 80 and usually 60 to 74, this could be a false reading if the bites were in fact Lymes disease or not relationship?
Avatar m tn Dear Doctor, I started undergoing treatment for hyperthyroidism last june2012 and my endo initially gave me 20 mg Tapdin for about a month and it reacted well although my thyroid tests (TSH,T3 and T4) are not yet normal. Then in my 2nd check-up, she lowered the doses and added inderal for my tremors and fast heartbeat. On my 3rd checkup, TSH lowered up to <0.10 while T3 and T4 are near normal. She advised me to return to 20 mg dosage. I observed acne on my face and it irritated me.
1679514 tn?1305240068 You should call your Pharmacist or your Doc... you also don't write about the dosage... I'm a on low dose of Inderal, not more than 15 mg a day but normally only take 2.5 to 5 mg in the morning when my heart race the most... Same for the Ativan, if your dosage is high, that can explain why you feel bad... Benzo meds cause a lot of fatigue and the beta-blocker like the Inderal also.. I'm on Inderal + Klonopin + Xanax (Klonopin and Xanax are like the ativan but stronger...
