imitrex

Avatar n tn I too am experiencing headaches from wearing glasses. I need to use the computer many hours a day. I have astigmatism. The glasses do what they're supposed to bu they give me a headache. I sometimes switch to lesser strength readers to give my eyes a rest...but really doesn't stop the headaches. The headaches are bad and sometimes carry over into the following day..can only be relieved by imitrex. The optometrists I've seen have been no help.
Avatar m tn I am so glad that you asked about imitrex! I take a triptan, like imitrex, and personally I think that triptans are the best treatment for acute migraines, and they are also the most prescribed medication for acute migraines.
Avatar f tn I don't have much of a question, but wanted to introduce myself. I've periodically had migraines throughout my life, but they were never very often. However, that changed since I've been diagnosed with lupus and fibromyalgia (as well as other chronic pain issues). Especially since the fibro was discovered (about 15 years ago), my migraines have increased in frequency. The week before last, I had 3 in that week alone.
341655 tn?1240368839 what is the difference between the imitrex injections and pills? Which is more effective and prescribed more?
1046692 tn?1255391835 Is it safe to take Lexapro and Imitrex? There is a warning on the package against this but I thought I would ask the professionals first.
1056589 tn?1273747102 If you suffer from some other types of medical conditions too, Imitrex should not be taken. Do not take Imitrex if you have underlying cardiovascular diseases, if you have uncontrolled hypertension, if you are taking MAO-A antidepressants or and do not take Imitrex if you have severe hepatic impairment.
Avatar f tn does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days.
Avatar f tn so there is no reason to become an addict or to crave the medication, but ones body will still become highly dependent on the medication to a point that if you take the body off the medication abruptly you can cause seizures and even death... Imitrex is NOT like that!! Imitrex does not cause any sort of high or euphoria so you cannot become addicted to it, you will not "crave" it when you are not in pain...
Avatar m tn I want to know how many time one person can do Lasik? If someone do Lasik for Myopia correction can he/she do Lasik for Hyperopia or Cataract later in his/her life? What is the side effects of Lasik?
Avatar f tn I am pretty loyal to Imitrex. But always at max dose of 200mg. There is a new drug from makers of Imitrex called Trixamet. It is Imitrex plus an NSAID. I got a sample from my doc. I loved it. Trixamet is supposed to be covered by any insurance that takes Imitrex, but mine doesn't cover it. Maybe yours will. Hope I helped.
518798 tn?1295212279 Good Morning guys! I woke up with another migraine this morning. This is the 3rd one this month. I usually have about 2 in a year, but never this close together and this often. I have been taking 1 imitrex when I have a headache. My question is, "Is Imitrex habit-forming?" I have researched all the websites, but they also say that ultram isn't habit forming. I was just wanting some info from someone who has taken it.
Avatar n tn Do floaters increase with lasik or lasik type surgery?I already have a lot of floaters that have been checked 4 times. I am fearful of lasik but am having a hard time with contacts so may look in to it.
Avatar f tn Hello. I've been suffering from sever migraines for years but recently they have gotten worse.. For a week now I've had a constant pain. Ive tried imitrex and that hadn't help. I took a pain med n it help for a little while. But the pain is back ten fold. Is that because of the pain med.? Any suggestions on migraine medications?
Avatar f tn I used to get so many migraines and I was taking imitrex injections. When I moved the migraines got worse from stress and I started taking the imitrex daily, sometimes even multiple times a day. After about 3 months of this I started getting heart palpitations. They got so bad that I stopped taking my imitrex (cold turkey) on the whim that it was causing them. The palpitations started getting worse, but I had now talked myself into having a fear of imitrex (that it would kill me).
Avatar f tn Hi Sir, I am 26 years old and I have a number of 2.5 in both eyes. While doing retina scan as part of LASIK procedure, I was detected with holes in retina. These were treated through laser treatment and the doctors said that I can go for LASIK after about 3 weeks. However, from what i have read online, it appears that there might be severe problems including problems of floaters etc in one goes for LASIK after retina laser treatment.
Avatar m tn they insisted for lasik and said lasik was almost 100% risk free.i had done lasik and post 2 months i got floaters.thus lasik made permenant damage to eye.now lasik docs says nothing can be done for floaters.i made a huge mistake of doing lasik because lasik was just a cosmetic surgery and there is no medical urgency to do a lasik. does lasik surgeons dont learn medical ethics in their eye school or only wanted to make money.my lasik docs says floaters are harmless and such like things.
Avatar m tn At my age, which is the better choice?? I am consfused as the lasik person says lasik far simplet and the cataract surgeon said his methond reversible if it doesn't work--lasik isn't. This discussion is related to post-cataract lasik.
Avatar n tn I am 36 and scheduled to be evaluated for lasik and hopefully the week after have lasik surgery . Currently, wear in my left eye: -2.50 BC= 8.4, Diameter 14.0. Right eye = -2.75 (torric) BC 8.6, Diameter 14.5 The doctor I am going to uses the VISX Star S-4 excimer laser. He also uses the VISX CustomVue guide. Are these the most recent technology? I currently see some halos at night. Will lasik make this worse? I also sometimes wake up with extremely dry eyes. I appreciate your help!
Avatar f tn First I would wait at least 3 months before considering LASIK. The suction ring and pressure changes induced by the procedure could lead to the formation of a retinal tear in either eye. As a high myope, these retinal tears could also occur spontaneously, without LASIK, but the LASIK procedure increases the risk somewhat. I would be sure to check with your retinal specialist first, and consider PRK as an alternative to LASIK, since PRK does not require the use of a suction ring.
1569579 tn?1299187685 Under the treatments for migraines why isn't Imitrex or Fioranal listed?
Avatar f tn I am having trouble determining whether my migraine medication, Imitrex, is one them. Sumitriptan and naproxen are not on the list, but since this drug narrows blood vessels, I wonder if it's best not to take it before surgery.
Avatar m tn m specifically interested in knowing about the Symfony vs. Crystalens for post-lasik patients. I know that they are both great lens for patients who have not had lasik correction, but I have not seen discussion regarding the adverse effects of Symfony in the post-lasik population. I want the Symfony, my doctor doesn't think that there's enough research regarding post-lasik use.
Avatar m tn My question is, lets say down the road I would opt for a strabismus surgery, would it in anyway affect my lasik surgery or if the lasik surgery would make me not a good candidate for a future strabismus surgery ? Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn I nee help. My mom is 45 and she has terrible headaches everyday. She takes Imitrex. She takes it everyday. She had bad headaches since 10 years ago, but now it's everyday that she has one. It's been like that for a month? What is wrong with her? I hope it's not some kind of tumor.
