Imitrex with tylenol

Common Questions and Answers about Imitrex with tylenol

imitrex

Avatar f tn I am pretty loyal to Imitrex. But always at max dose of 200mg. There is a new drug from makers of Imitrex called Trixamet. It is Imitrex plus an NSAID. I got a sample from my doc. I loved it. Trixamet is supposed to be covered by any insurance that takes Imitrex, but mine doesn't cover it. Maybe yours will. Hope I helped.
Avatar f tn Take Tylenol if it doesn't go away with medicine you need to get checked out.
Avatar f tn Yes, don't use the Sumitriptan or the Naproxen or any NSAIDs before surgery. If the Naproxen wasn't on the list, it should be, because it's an NSAID. With the Imitrex, it would be better to be safe than sorry. I'm not entirely sure, but it seems like it would be a safer bet to struggle through those migraines for the next couple of weeks. I do know for sure with the Naproxen, because it's an NSAID.
Avatar m tn I take Imitrex when I get them, and it usually works great, but today I have taken the maximum dose on my Rx for a 24 hr. period (200 mg) and it's still not gone. I am wondering if I went to the ER, is there something else they could do -- could they give me more Imitrex, or another triptan or something else to try to stop it? I don't want opiates. Any thoughts appreciated.
Avatar n tn Right now I am in the middle of a 2 week long migraine headache. My OB has given me Tylenol with codeine which isn't helping at all. Is there anything else that I can try that won't be harmful to the baby? I'm really trying to avoid going to the ER because I don't want to have to be admitted.
Avatar f tn I have a long history of migraines and so had to have a med I could take on treatment. I opted for Imitrex because it is okay with the Peg, Riba, and Incivek. Interestingly enough, I have not had any bad migraines on treatment but I think that is because I know most of the migraine triggers and have avoided them like the plague. Before treatment, I was taking Cafergot and a tiny dose of Tylenol # 3 when I got the migraines, which was not often these last few years.
Avatar f tn Has the Dr ever prescribed imitrex? I suffer migraine headaches. As well. Just a question, your Dr has you on pain pills for another ailment, right?
656111 tn?1273820739 Anyway, I am taking Imitrex for my migraines. Well, I had problem with script to fill Imitrex medicine couple years ago.... it only supplys 9 and only covers one any type of migraine medication PER month. When I ran out of it, I asked my doctor to give me script for more Imitrex and I dropped script off at Walgreens then few minutes later, pharmacist told me that insurance was not covering that...
Avatar f tn s experience with the imitrex has been - good or bad - and if they have any other tips of things I can try (non-medicinal) to reduce the pain, etc., of the migraines. Fortunately, (knock on wood), I haven't had a migraine since I saw my doc on thursday, so I haven't tried the imitrex yet. I'm always leary/hesitant about ANY new medication, so would definitely appreciate any advice about this med that anyone might have. Thanks so much!
Avatar f tn I always get migraines with my period and at least another 2-3 a month from various causes. Imitrex 100mg is the only thing that helps me but i dont want to take it because i am 7 weeks and dont see my dr until week 10. I'm on day 2 of a migraine now. Im drinking lots of water, took tylenol, keep putting cold packs on my head and neck, but nothing is helping. Im going crazy. Anyone have the same issue or any suggestions? Help!
635402 tn?1270162477 Silberstein of the Jefferson Headache Center was able to demonstrate through research, that Imitrex combined with naprosyn taken at the onset of a migraine was better in treating that migraine than either drug alone. Such a combination is deemed synergistic, meaning basically that two plus two equals ten. Naprosyn is the prescription form of Aleve which is sold over the counter and is an anti-inflammatory. Once this research was confirmed, GSK began to develop a combination drug.
1817265 tn?1317302747 I also suffer from migraines & used to take Maxalt. When I was pregnant with my 1st, the dr prescribed Imitrex & I've been taking it since. I take 1/2 a pill & if it doesn't work (which it does most of the time), then I take the other half. You are supposed to take it at the onset of a migraine otherwise it gets so bad that the meds are not as effective. Talk to your dr ASAP! And congratulations on your blessing!!!
Avatar n tn Your taking this drug for an anxiety disorder is what I term a “work-around.” It is an attempt to deal with the symptom but does not get at the cause. My guess is that your anxiety is counteracting the drug effect (which is a known negative effect with this medication). I do not know what you are doing to deal with the anxiety, but I think that this is where your cure lies. To my knowledge, there is not a negative physical effect on your penis. S.A.Liroff, M.D.
7400888 tn?1401574739 s in the same pregnancy category as Tylenol. It fact in Australia it is a category b drug. It has nothing to do with your miscarriage. I can't imagine what u are going through. There is no need to add additional unwarranted guilt to your sorrow. Most spontaneous abortions are due to chromosomal anomalies. I know this can't erase your pain. But you can know that you didn't cause this to happen. I hope that you can find peace.
Avatar f tn but seriously my head is pounding, my back is in knots, my head hurts so bad my ears hurt...and this is the exact pain that got me into the mess with painkillers. Now here I am, 13 days after my last perc, finally recovering after the horrible w/ds and I want relief so bad that if one of those little white pills were in front of me I would definatly take one. I tried the mild muscle relaxer and an IB 800, let's be serious, that doesn't do s*** for me!?!?

Avatar m tn She medicates herself heavily with tylenol and ib profun. The pain apparently comes and goes and seems to peak in the evening. It doesn't appear to be unbearable, but I'm not sure if she's just hiding it when she's around me so i don't get worried. any help i can get for a possible diagnosis and/or treatment is very much appreciated!! thank you!
Avatar n tn The only medication that help me is a cocktail of 2 aspirins, 2 Tylenol and 2 Motrin 800mg, if I catch it at the beginning. I f is too late,Imitrex 100mg works for me, specially the injection, pills are prone to take effect a bit later, but the injection is inmediate .
Avatar f tn I've been having headaches for the last month and everytime I tried taking tylenol still hurts. and I hurt so bad I cry myself to sleep. I rather not go to the hospital cuz doctors and nothing but stupid. and I've no idea what else to do. I've been drinking water. taking Tylenol and trying to relax ..hasn't helped. can anyone please help me?
1046692 tn?1255391835 Is it safe to take Lexapro and Imitrex? There is a warning on the package against this but I thought I would ask the professionals first.
Avatar m tn m concerned because after talking to my doctor he looked at my charts and noted that I relapse with migraines every three months. These migraines are so severe it keeps me from doing my every day activities. I was wondering what I could take on the side for these because since the amitriptyline isn't working my doctor told me to stay on it for a week and it just still isn't working.
1200450 tn?1317496867 Has anyone else ever had problems with their primary care doctors after admitting their addiction? I went to mine today because I have strep throat. While I was there, I told him that I had been having headaches also and was wondering if he could give me anything non narcotic like imitrex. When I said this, he actually laughed at me and in a snide voice said, "what? Tylenol doesn't work for you?". It was a very uncomfortable moment.
Avatar n tn It seems like there is a connection though with where you moved. Can you link a eating out a lot or new diet to it, or any other thing? MSG will cause migraines for me and red wine and other things. Also, stress of a new place. But of course the last post could be right as well. Are your headaches on one side of the head or ? Does Tylenol take them away?If it is a migraine, for me, Tylenol won't touch the headache.
Avatar f tn No, if it is the branded version of Imitrex with no additional additives. There could be some other variants that include NSAIDS but you should double check with your Doctor as to which version was prescribed. I agree Maxalt seems to be the better drug especially the MLT version as it gets into the blood stream much quicker.
Avatar f tn I find Ibupropin helps a lot if the Imitrex doesn't work or vice versa. Then I got vertigo in my 40's and I would just fall down. It is due to the migraine not the inner ear. I have become hypothyroid too. They now have me on Topamax which took away my migraine headaches but not the auras and I don't have vertigo anymore either. I also take a half of a 25mg of amitriptilyne still too. They had tried cyproheptadine but that didn't work either.
