Imiquimod and psoriasis

Common Questions and Answers about Imiquimod and psoriasis

aldara

Avatar m tn Aldara also induces psoriasis-like lesions when applied to naive murine skin, and as such is used as a mouse model for psoriasis. Here we find that in naive murine skin, Aldara induces inflammation largely independently of toll-like receptor 7. Surprisingly, inflammasome activation, keratinocyte death and interleukin 1 release also occur in response to the vehicle cream in the absence of imiquimod.
Avatar n tn It is known that an overactive immune system can trigger a site of psoriasis, and imiquimod invokes an immune response to have cytotoxins destroy skin cells. So now.... retinoid treatments are not helping, and the only other main treatment for psoriasis are corticosteroids which if I'm not mistaken are immunosuppressants lol..... are they not? If I start using those then HPV will form new warts.... on the other hand, it would be a neat experiment....
Avatar f tn I would have to apply it a lot tho and if its applied thick enough to last an hour it would show a greenish film (it's a green ointment). Psoriasis is an untreatable condition that comes and goes, and may stay dormant for years. It has to do with the immune system and the right diet can help; also exercise and the l-lysine or other vitamins. Candida is a form of yeast bacteria that can affect the skin esp in overweight people, diabetic people, or pregnant women.
Avatar n tn The only thing that really made it better was when it was summer and I was outside and swimming alot. It cracks open and bleeds, has spread to my feet, arms, back the other leg and torso. It doesnt fit exactly eczema or psoriasis. I also have Crohns disease and they tend to flare together. I get psoriasis when I flare but that birthmark, the original part never goes away. I try everything but it still gets so still and painful, especially in the winter.
Avatar m tn Hello, For small warts, several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts.Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation. Injections are not given usually.
556286 tn?1215557480 This is a rash my love is suffering with, which started out on the backs of both thighs and was diagnosed as psoriasis about two years ago. With topical steriodal creams the rashes went away, but came back with a vengance. Now the rash is all over. It itches so badly that scratching for relief causes bleeding and deep gouges in the skin. Our bed sheets are covered in spots of his blood from this rash. It is now affecting his testicles with redness and itching.

Avatar m tn The cyst in question is right by my circumcision line. After that I seen another doctor who said could be a wart and froze that and some other lesion on my penis. After they froze the areas I was still in pain. So I went to about 10 different doctors and all said different answers. I have now seen 2 dermatologist, 2 urologist, 2 ER doctors 1 std doctor, and a couple of GPs. Both urologist said that everything was a cyst and little sebaceous cyst.
Avatar m tn Interesting post on amazon from one user well I have taken 20 of these capsules per day to reverse psoriasis and I never felt any of the so called "side effects" and I am not taking them anympore. It's telling how people used over 1 000 000IU of vitamin D about 70 years ago for auto immune diseases but nowadays even 50 000 can really hurt you if not kill you.
Avatar m tn a little over a month ago, i had unprotected sex with a female who approximately 2 weeks later was diagnosed as having HSV2. i still haven't presented with any of the obvious symptoms such as bumps or warts on my penis, but i've experienced an on-again off-again burning sensation just inside of the tip of my penis. most of the time i would say it's simply irritating, though for a day or two about a week ago it did move up to what i would call painful.
