Common Questions and Answers about Imiquimod cost

aldara

Avatar m tn She did use a cream on him that appeared to temporarily work-- imiquimod cream 5% - drug name Aldara. It has 12 single application doses (each the size of a postage stamp). She writes: "Not much in them so it's hard to only use one on an application. It cost $180 more in some other drugstores. I bought two boxes and used for 5 ½ weeks Monday to Friday as the vet said.
Avatar n tn Depending on the extent of your warts, you might have to return to the clinic several times, at little or no cost each time. The cost of a physician visit, such as to a dermatologist, and the costs of the prescription drugs for genital warts--podofilox (Condylox) or imiquimod (Aldara)--can be high, but vary all over the map from one city to another and among pharmacies. You will get better information than my guess by calling a local dermatologist and a few pharmacies in your area.
Avatar f tn I was successfully treated with Imiquimod cream for 3 weeks and confirmed that all visible warts had cleared. 6 months later I noticed 2 bumps in the perianal region (not where my original outbreak occurred and very unlike the vaginal warts) and sought treatment at Planned Parenthood where the practitioner removed them with TCA thinking that they could be HPV warts. 2 months ago, I noticed a very tiny bump near my anus and went in to Planned Parenthood again to have that looked at.

Avatar n tn said it was contagious and could spread to other parts of her body or to someone else. She prescribed Aldara 5% Cream. It comes in 24 small application tubes at a cost of $639.00. Can anyone tell me the name of this condition? Thanks!
Avatar n tn no I don't believe the handbook mildly recommends it. I have no idea of the cost of it. I assume it isn't cheap. You can call your local pharmacy and ask for a cost estimate out of curiosity.
Avatar m tn very good news my hbsag keeps going down, difficult to say if it is the effect of etv plus tdf combo or the imiquimod i used in 2012 or the maitake supplements i am taking now, anyway what matters is hbsag goes down: 20 apr 2012 7309iu/ml 21 jun 2012 5210iu/ml 16 nov 2012 3687iu/ml 10 jan 2013 4207iu/ml 28 feb 2013 3644iu/ml 27 mar 2013 4163iu/ml 22 may2013 3201iu/ml the maitake i am taking now is from puritans, i take from 6 to 9 caps a day, it has no sides so i take 3 times the s
Avatar n tn Prevention is key, but therapeutic treatment of hypertrophic scars and keloids includes occlusive dressings, compression therapy, intralesional corticosteroid injections, cryosurgery, excision, radiation therapy, laser therapy, interferon therapy, 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), doxorubicin, bleomycin, verapamil, retinoic acid, imiquimod 5% cream, tamoxifen, tacrolimus, botulinum toxin, and other promising therapies such as transforming growth factor (TGF)–beta3, and recombinant human (rh) interleukin
468411 tn?1207259284 Hi, 'No single therapeutic modality is best for all keloids. The location, size, and depth of the lesion; the age of the patient; and the past response to treatment determine the type of therapy used.
Avatar f tn This procedure is used both for external warts and for warts on the cervix or other internal tissue. - Electrosurgery - Imiquimod, known as Aldara, is an approved, self-applied cream that helps the body’s immune system fight the infection. - Laser therapy is sometimes recommended. This is because the high-intensity light, used in conjunction with a microscope, can be adjusted precisely for area and depth, leading to little scarring and good cosmetic results.
Avatar n tn I am confused by the wart treatment you describe. Trichloroacetic acid or bichloroacetic acid applications are often used in doctor's office, but there is no standard "acid bath" that patients use themselves. And most provider would not prescribe both "acid" and imiquimod (Aldara) simultaneously. In any case, either of those treatments can cause irritation of the treated tissues that might explain the burning sensation you describe.
Avatar m tn I hope the Chinese can release their version of imiquimod pill so we can order it from Hong-Kong to save hassle. Really there is so much hassle with these clinical trials, that it is really not worth it to participate if they are conducted like this.
Avatar m tn yes imiquimod as therapy is out of question for now and results have been very limited, i guess the problem is that imiquimod should be continued daily as 12.5mg suppository or higher but sides are absolutely not tollerable (fatigue, blured vision, creatinine increase, heavy general inflmmation, hair loss and change from straight to curly), at least for me, and this cannot be done.
936016 tn?1332769204 There are a number of reasons why routine anal screening programmes have not been rolled out. The cost, both of setting up and maintaining the programme, is just one of the factors. Balancing the need for screening with any patient anxiety is another factor as well as concerns over the efficacy of screening.
Avatar m tn there is a way to make this vaccine therapy stronger, the use of imiquimod cream in the area of vaccine injection, since the combos on intf and the sequatial treatment with intf add on are getting more common we will see many, i hope me included, needing hbv vaccine when hbsag is very very low like less than 250iu/ml another thing to look for: are there very good brands of hbv vaccine without preservatives like mercury and other toxic substances?
Avatar m tn freezing, laser, imiquimod (Aldara, Zyclara), podofilox (Condylox), or sinecatechins (Veregen). It will speed up clearance of the visible, diagnosed warts -- but none of these treatments eradicate HPV or treat nearby infected tissues. Think of genital warts like an iceberg -- the obvious part above water, but 90% invisible below the surface.
Avatar n tn And then some say you can just ignore them and they will go away on their own. I would just like to save the $200 monthly cost of these Aldara packets, and the electric needle/freezing isn't a good choice because I have so many warts, about 25 that are so tiny they look smaller than pin heads. Any thoughts on tea tree oil, olive skin oil, aloe vera? Thanks for your help.
Avatar m tn isn't used much these days, but STD and venereal disease mean the same thing. Many treatments, including imiquimod (Aldara), suppresses warts only temporarily -- so recurrence is common. It doesn't mean anything special about your immune system or anything else. However, you clearly need to see a health professional to confirm the diagnosis and probably get additional treatment.
Avatar f tn ) they'll fly kids out there, have people at the airport designated to help with those under age 16, and she'll be met by someone at the arriving airport who will be there to gather the kids for the camp coming in. I figured I'd mention this because summer is coming up and it's a great experience to have. Contact me anytime if you have questions regarding the camp or other things.
Avatar m tn The reason for the small amount of market shares for the Israeli vaccine is not the higher production cost, but simply the overwhelming cost of getting it approved outside of Israel. And yes, it is not a therapeutic vaccine. But if properly adjuvanted, it seems to qualifiy as a first choice if one has to use currently licensed vaccines in combination with an additional adjuvant, due to its extra antigen content, that is likely quite important in the enhanced response repertoire.

Avatar m tn I just read this whitepaper from a research firm in Southern California. Looks like some promising stuff is in the pipeline for us chronically infected patients. Any thoughts? http://www.arrowheadresearch.com/pdf/whitepaper-hbv-3-7-12.pdf Arrowhead Research Corporation and Axolabs GmbH Enter into Strategic Alliance and Master Services Agreement for RNAi Therapeutics PASADENA, Calif.
Avatar m tn I mean they give interferon treatment at home and chemotherapy with minimal monitoring - and yet they worry about with something as imiquimod. This imiquimod GS9620 main ingredient i am being told knocks out HPV virus. Very effective against Hep C too. That is what people that worked as biologists that studied viruses report. Information is out there. And these companies with their financial backing must have a great idea on what it really takes.
Avatar f tn I don't find any logical and moral explanation of how can that be that Rep9AC is not being given out to people to spread the word. And Why are the researchers are not demanding this medicine. The cost of making it is not and should not be an issue. And if big pharma buys it how will then they lower the cost down? So it is just equipment issue then. It also can be fixed from the public funds. Currently we have just about all of the research sponsored mainly by huge US big pharma companies.
Avatar m tn $75,000 for these business guys is nothing. Here is another example.. There is GS9620.. Imiquimod that works, very very promising drug. So they are doing "clinical trials" makes sense.. But they are very selective of who they take. I live within driving distance of San Diego. And just because I take Baraclude I cannot try this drug. Have to be on Tenofovir fro 3 months or more.. Does that make sence to you? What is the difference? Both are the same group of drugs.
Avatar m tn please comment on these results, i think that monthly hbsag quant may confirm if we are having a good result from ezetimibe, we have only one thing certain from 2009 to 2012 hbsag stable from 4200 to 7300 no matter what we tried (alinia or imiquimod) would you also add intf to this combo tdf+etv+ezetimibe since imiquimod too failed?
Avatar m tn Did you read the dosing in there. It's far dorm good news. 2mg/kg. it would be at least over 100mg per person, and in the human study 12mg was the highest they gave which had similar sides as interferon.
Avatar f tn it is a common side when intf activates immune response, check all natural ways to lessen itch because drugs usually work lowering immune response and this is not what we need now pure aloe creams might help reducing skin cytokines, i used it myself because my cytokines due to imiquimod make my skin burn under sun and aloe worked great
Avatar f tn Throughout the tx I lost a lot of hair and had flu like symptoms and tiredness, wired headaches, sometimes more, sometimes less dont worry the hair will come back 3-4 months after you stop, i also had all that by imiquimod and i think pegintf was a good try anyway you will benefit a little while on tdf mono anyway the paracetamol taken while on peg is no problem if doses are low and correct for liver disease your fibroscan is not much different, 6kpa is still healthy rage and that is probably
Avatar n tn Had flu like symptoms about the 3 week mark, which I think is from imiquimod. Also did 2 sessions to try to freeze the bumps. I did some STD tests, one during the first outbreak and came out negative for HIV, HSV-2, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia. Just did another one yesterday (3.5 weeks) to ensure against false negatives. So now that you know my background my questions are: 1) Do you think Molluscum Contagiosum can cause me to have bad chronic fatigue for 3.5 weeks straight? If this normal?
