hysterectomy

782368 tn?1244854467 I just wanted to say that I had a complete hysterectomy in June 2006. Removal of uterus, tubes, ovaries. I never had ONE ounce of pain in the hospital or when I came home. Once I got home I did not take one pain pill ! You will have to rest and take it easy for sure. But just didn't want you to freak out thinking you were going to have severe pain because it's not always the case. Good Luck !
Avatar f tn Hello, I think the thickness of the endometrial stripe really depends on where you are in your cycle I have heard up to 12-15mm in the late stage is normal. I would think a biopsy would be appropriate. I know I had a thickness of 4mm one week after my period, 12mm and 15mm later it my cycle. I had a biopsy and it wasn't too bad. Just in case you've heard horror stories. My reg. gyn. did it right in her office. I hope you will be able to save an ovary! Is the anemia from heavy bleeding?

Avatar n tn mainly to keep the hot flashes somewhat at bay. Recently I have experienced terrible night sweats, worse than ever before, but they seem different than the hot flashes that drive me to get a hormone shot. Is this just symtomatic of regular menopause? After a shot, the hot flashes go away, and the night sweats used to, but now the night sweats stay with me...
Avatar f tn I am schedule to have a hysterectomy in a couple weeks, and my concern is will my stomach go back to normal? Will I gain weight? Should I diet during recovery. Can't afford to buy new clothing right now... Will my sex life remain exciting?

178345 tn?1242536246 As you all know I had a full hysterectomy in May 07..well today I was shopping with my younger daughter and I started feeling a tight crampy feeling in my lower pelvis area. this was 6 hours ago and I am still feeling it,,it feels like a muscle spasm or something. It hurts more when I walk than when I sit. I am so uncomfortable. what could this be? Should I be worried? Please let me know.
Avatar f tn s, I realize without seeing the video it his hard to say but wondering if you had come across anything similiar to this in the past, any insight you have to offer is greatly appreciated!!
922475 tn?1243962297 m not mistaken, as long as the cancer is in early stages it is possible that your hysterectomy could be done laparoscopically & vaginally (LAVH). If you have it done laparoscopically, you will not be cut from side to side: you will have about 3-4 small incisions (about an inch long each). You still have a 6-8 week recovery because it is still major surgery but it wouldn't take your incisions as long to heal.
Avatar n tn Hello! I too had a total hysterectomy. I woke up screaming in pain...from my legs. The nurse said it was from being in the stirrups with my knees pushed up to my armpits too long and would get better with time. It has been 9 months and the pain is still there when I sit for too long and when I get up in the mornings. My legs ache horribly and burn by the end of the day, at first my viens in my legs would stick out grotesquely. That doesnt happen much any more.
Avatar f tn I am a hysterectomy in less than 2 weeks I'm a bit nervous they said I can't cook cleaner Drive a while you're taking a cervix uterous tubes out I'm going to try to keep one or both ovaries my question to you ladies hats had one before how was your recovery time and your pain and is there anything that I need to know or to take to the hospital with
Avatar n tn Bless you heart, I know how you are feeling as I went through a complete hysterectomy in 1991. No matter what the circumstances it is not an easy surgery. It doesn't surprise me that you are having these pains as the entire area is close to each other. That being said, I would definitely call your Doctor and let them know what you are experiencing and ask them if this is what you should be expecting.
Avatar f tn Seeing that video and seeing those poor sperms die, i thought ohh wow, i wonder how many survived, did the ones that went in on the end part of ovulation make it in time, so much was going threw my mind watching that video, that video brought my spirits down for this cycle lol.
525584 tn?1212442543 Today, June 2, 2008, I got the news that I have to have a hysterectomy because of severe complication casused by fibroid tumors. I have a work related back injury in which I have been at home since 2001 recovering (no surgery to date because of this) and my doctors have given me the green light to return to work on a part-time basis. I'm scheduled to return to work on June 9, 2008 but today, I'v been given this bombshell! I am unsure how to deal with all of this!
Avatar n tn Thank you. The tumor is behind my right ovary instead of on the front. Doesn't that make it closer to the sciatic nerve? Is it likely the mass can be removed laparascopically? I am researching gynecologic oncologists in Florida. I have access to all of them but don't know which one to choose. Can you make some recommendations? I'm looking at Mayo Clinic, Finkler's group in Orlando (he doesn't do surgery any longer), Dr. James Orr in Naples.
1149921 tn?1297559913 There are treatments for fibroids so it does not always lead to a hysterectomy. If you were to have a hysterectomy then yes, you would probably have menopause symptoms. There is hormone therapy to help with that though. Find out what your ultrasound results are and do research. If your Dr only gives you the option of a hysterectomy then get a second or even a third opinion. I hope this helps some. Take care.
Avatar f tn Sorry you are in pain. I do know that you can have endo tissue migrate to the bowel even after a hysterectomy. A 2 cm simple cyst like that on the ovary is perfectly normal, don't worry. A rectal abcess can be very, very painful. Are they treating you with anything? Steroids or antibiotics? Special diet? I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn How can my cancer travel to the uterus without passing through the tubes? Is it ovarian cancer or uterine? I am scheduled for a hysterectomy next week and my doctor says only the second biopsy would tell. Anyone else who has seen this before? I really want to keep my system - I am 30.
Avatar f tn Well, my internist sent me to a gyn and he in turn made an appt with a gynocologist/oncologist for Sept 14. Meanwhile he took a ROMA (Risk for Ovarian Malignacy) blood test and today he called and it was negative but I still have to go to the oncologist. I feel so stupid going there when the test was negative. I feel he would say, What are you doing here, you don't have cancer. I have been going crazy and I feel like such a fool going to the Women's Cancer Care.
404304 tn?1201709677 I have a serious question, and would like an answer. I had a hysterectomy Feb 19, 2008. During my healing I kept feeling jabs inside, and didn't take pain meds until it started getting painful. I had an allergic reaction to motrin. I went to my Doctor for follow up and told her about my pain, she said don't take motrin. She cleared me for intercourse. My husband and I had intercourse and he said he felt needles in me. I called the Doctor and they played it off.
Avatar f tn I have set a record in my ob/gyn's office as being the oldest person who still hasn't gone thru menopause, age 65...my hormones are out of balance, an ablation of the uterus didn't help, I bleed every day. I don't want to have a hysterectomy...anyone else share my aging dilemma?

Avatar m tn If you and your gf are having problems with lube because of her hysterectomy (I had a hysterectomy too, and have that problem), just get some lube. It will help it feel better for you both. And it can be fun to play with. ;) But wait until your symptoms are gone before you have sex.
Avatar m tn Dear Legal Lad, My name is Mike. I'm a victim of Identity theft and possibly accused of prescription fraud as someone that looked like me went to get a prescription filled and then left to pick up the prescription the next day. I got text msg to "Pick up my ready percriptions" from a free SMS service from Walgreen's and I know I did not have any prescription then. also this was in another city next to my city.
