Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy video procedures

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn Thanks for answering
Avatar n tn As AnnieBrooke stated, a hysterectomy is serious surgery. Personally I wouldn't have both procedures together. A tummy tuck is serious surgery too. I would have the hysterectomy first. Heal from that and than consider a tummy tuck. I'm not a doctor, but having both surgeries together at the same time may be dangerous. I'm surprised a doctor has even agreed to do both at the same time. Do one at a time, not both together. I wish you well.
Avatar f tn Hi this is dianeo4. just found out i have to get full hysterectomy. roscoe says i cant get the surgery while in a the study. is this true,? i am 6 weeks on rosche trial and neg at 4 weeks. what should i do?
Avatar f tn C section is scheduled for August 7th; however, due to the location of my fibroids I may have to have an emergency hysterectomy...is anyone else in a similar situation? Does anyone know anything about how that might impact recovery? Pregnancy has been basically perfect and baby is doing great otherwise!!
Avatar f tn Diagnosis is based on the signs and symptoms and the results from tests and procedures. Lung function tests, blood tests, pulse oximetry, Chest x-ray, high-resolution CT (HRCT) scan and lung tissue biopsy may be done. Evaluation by s pulmonologist is essential. Take care and regards.
1840640 tn?1318613270 nt repaired at the same time as other procedures?, or is it possible it was an oversight? I asked my Dr. that did the Hyst. and she said to see the urologist that did the bladder repair and cystocell repair. I have an appt. next week and need some advice on asking the proper questions reguarding rectocell repair without sounding like an idiot. Im 45 years old and this is a very embaresing topic for me to discuss with my urologist. Thanks to all for any advice.
Avatar n tn What procedures have you had? Hysterectomy is not the first line of defense, but the gynecologist who has been treating you is the one to ask. Have you had LEEP or cervical conization?
Avatar f tn Also, does adding a hysterectomy to all the other procedures being done in the repair increase the recovery time? And does it affect the length of time the repair might last?
Avatar n tn Is Uterine Hysterectomy the only solution to fibroids. Menstral period so heavy, has caused enemia. Ultra sound confirmed fibroids. The largest 3.5 cm. G.P. recomends hysterectomy. My age 46.
Avatar f tn Hi... I"m sorry I missed your question. Personally, I had my hysterectomy years before having been diagnosed with IC, so obviously having a hysterectomy didn't help me any. Know of some others that have had hysterectomy in an effort to help alleviate pain, but it hasn't done anything. I'm not questioning whether or not you have IC, but I wonder if you've been checked for other things that cause similar symptoms, such as pelvic floor dysfunction, endometriosis, etc.
Avatar f tn I have been reading alot about different procedures available and want to know if anyone out there has had success with any of them. I do not want my organs removed but I am done having children. I do bleed about every 2 weeks for a week to 12 days at a time. I am so sick of the bloating and pain and want a solution that doesn't result in a hysterectomy and talking hormone supplements for the rest of my life.
Avatar f tn I just found out that my pap came back with LGSIL results. I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago. The Dr. left one ovary in for hormone purposes. I had to have the hysterectomy due to dysplasia and pre cancerous cells. After my surgery, I had to go in for several laser of the vaginal cuff surgeries, because the cancerous cells kept coming back. The dr. I have now is referring me to gyn oncology dr. What should I expect from this visit.
Avatar n tn I have been told my best option now is a partial hysterectomy (removal of uterus and I think the cervix but not the ovaries) but after doing some reading I am now very concerned about the possible long term heath issues such as pelvic organ prolapse, reduced size of vagina, urinary incontinence, bowel dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, weight gain etc.
Avatar f tn I have a bit of down time waiting for flight home and yes I did speak at the meeting yesterday (Thursday was related to transvaginal mesh procedures, today is regarding sling procedures.) I'll be posting a copy of my speech as an article to my nonprofit site early next week.

442027 tn?1209866342 da Vinci Hysterectomy offers numerous potential benefits over traditional approaches to vaginal, laparoscopic or open abdominal hysterectomy, particularly when performing more challenging procedures like radical hysterectomy for gynecologic cancer.
Avatar n tn Not that I am aware of. However, different processing procedures and different extraction procedures are likely to make the different products produce slightly or moderately different effects in terms of reduction of anxiety or influence on mood and sedation. I prefer taking breaks from the use of herbs, that is just my personal viewpoint since I tend to err on the side of caution.
953787 tn?1246371213 In addition to hysterectomy and abdominal myomectomy, various minimally invasive procedures have been developed to remove fibroids. HOpe this helpes a little at least!
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm having a hysterectomy due to cervical dysplasia and already having 3 LEEP procedures and no cervix left.. They want to remove my ovaries at the same time. Being 63 and post menopausal for a while I thought it would be fine but now a bit concerned after reading more on the internet regarding health after.
Avatar n tn Thank you for posting and warning other women about the damaging effects of hysterectomy, weight gain being just one of many. I regret mine every day too. :( My doctor was deceptive about my condition and treatment options and I should not have trusted him. Having been his patient for 20 years, I thought I could. Unfortunately, deceit is the main reason there are so many hysterectomies in the U.S. and some other countries.
599170 tn?1300973893 First and foremost welcome, I have been a member of this fabulous community since August of 2008. I have some personal history with hysterectomy and related subjects. In brief summary I have had several diagnostic laparoscopies, 2 d and c's, 3 laproscopic surgeries to remove endometrial tissue, DaVinci Robotic Assisted Hysterectomy, a BSO (surgical removal of tubes and ovaries.) I have great empathy for any of you facing these procedures.
Avatar f tn she recently told me she had fluid by her heart & it causing her feet to swell terribly, shes going in for some tests tuesday. but im wondering if any one could tell me anything. im really worried and she doesn't seem to know much. she had a hysterectomy when she was younger could that maybe be the cause? or because of the medication she takes for her manic disorder?
Avatar n tn There is also an abc news video about a man with thyroid cancer who refused treatment and got rid of his tumor by changing his diet..go to brantleycuredotcom and click on video at bottom right side and watch. As a thyroid cancer myself i take alot of interest in looking at all methods conventional and non conventional.Everyone must make up their own minds how to battle cancer but the more armed with knowledge you are the better the chances.. Avatar n tn I have 2 cysts on an ovary and 2 fibroids. The doctor has talked to me about a myomectomy option vs. hysterectomy for the fibroid removal. I don't know which way to go on this. I'm concerned about the success rate of a myomectomy and don't want to go through a surgical procedure and then end up having to have a hysterectomy in the long run. Naturally, I also don't want to have a hysterectomy and end up with complications and am really afraid of menopause.
Avatar f tn I think you want a Uro/gyno if you can find that speciality in your area. Get references and read up on the different procedures before you go in so you know what to ask and know what you are getting.
2091079 tn?1332816899 My doctor has completely ignore my complaints brushing it off as is normal after a hysterectomy. I am 48 years old I have to wear a diaper sbecause I am concerned about leaking urine all day. IS this normal, to develp infections after hysterectomy. Yesterday I started discharging a brown discharge, it has a slight smell, and I am in such severe pain that it hurts to even drive.
