1043568 tn?1253450188 I am 54 years old and I was still pretty regular before the Tamoxifen. My gynecologist is recommending that I get a radical (abdominal) hysterectomy since I am still having periods. I had a D&C last year and had a benign polyp removed. Just had a trans-vaginal ultrasound 2 weeks ago and everything was fine.
Avatar f tn I watched a a medical video online, seems recovery may be quicker, but it still freaks me out and I am so worried. I was hoping I could find someone who haa had this type of procedure, and your the first person who has at least some of my symptoms. good luck to you and if anyone has any info to pass on thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn Yes I have similar symptoms and no med center where I live can help me ..
553516 tn?1255867219 If you decide to get this procedure please find a surgeon who is qualified to do the DaVinci Robotic Assisted Hysterectomy resurch this.It is the method I used Its very precise surgically. There is a video of the entire procedure on u=tube its very graphic do not watch it if your squimish. Also If you decide to do this procedure how well do you trust your current dr? find a good one best recomedations is word of mouth ask around , before any surgery always get two to three opinions.

Avatar n tn My doctor wants to do another u/s in 2 months unless I have heavy bleeding this next period or severe abdominal pain, then he will do the u/s sooner. He is concerned of cancer. Is that jumping the gun? I read that 95% of cysts are benign but what about the % of septated cysts. The reading I have done online linked my kind of cysts with cancer. I am just trying to get an idea of what we are looking at...surgery, hysterectomy..etc. Thanks for you help!
Avatar n tn A recent article posted by the New England Journal of Medicine reported an abdominal pregnancy after hysterectomy though it was terminated at 12 weeks. Does this open the possibility of having children for women that had to have a hysterectomy?
Avatar f tn By all means get a second opinion before the hysterectomy. The attitudes about hysterectomy vary from region to region and from city to the suburbs... I live in a smallish WI town where docs sound like the writer's doc- 'just take the darn thing out' is the usual comment in this 'neck of the woods'! And I admit to coming across many women over the years who were very grateful for 'the change'. BUT...
Avatar f tn Endometriosis is when some endometrial cells escape from the uterus and attach to other places inside your abdominal cavity, and they wax and wane with your periods, and hurt.
Avatar m tn I had a salpingo oopherectomy on both sides, a hysterectomy as well as a appendectomy on February 5th 2013. I am 27 years old. Since the procedure was done I have had severe lower abdominal pain while urinating. I have been very sick. Does anyone have an idea of what this pain is from?
Avatar n tn Had a hysterectomy 7yrs ago. did not remove ovaries or fallopian tubes. Starting to have lots of pelvic pain again. Will I have to have them removed eventually?
Avatar f tn There are two ways to do the surgery. The old-fashioned method is called a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, or TAH, meaning the work is done through an abdominal incision. Recovery time is easily 6 to 8 weeks. A Total Vaginal Hysterectomy (TVH) means the uterus and cervix are removed through the vagina. A laparascope is used through tiny incisions in the abdomen to release the structures that hold the uterus in place.
Avatar m tn I had a full abdo hysterectomy 1 yr ago .
Avatar n tn I had a hysterectomy on Dec 2nd, they could not get the draining tube out. It has been over a month and it has not budged at all. They are telling me it could take 3 months or more for it to come out. Is this normal? What are my options if I want it out now. There is a very bad odor.
1670196 tn?1306841245 it was an abdominal hysterectomy. I've had my urine tested, I don't have a bladder or kidney infection and no bladder or kidney stones. I have pain and the fever won't quit. It got up to 101.6 yesterday and I am on 800 mg motrin every 8 hours.
Avatar f tn I'm so sorry this is happening to you. How long ago did you have the lap done where they removed the endo? I had severe endo and ovarian cysts for years, and sex was always painful for me, much like you describe. The birth control pill helped me some, but never really alleviated it fully, and it could hurt for hours post-orgasm, even if the orgasm was achieved without penetration. I had a hysterectomy and for me, it was the best decision.
1087834 tn?1256647396 Please dont just have a hysterectomy,go on the hysterectomy site and see the alternatves.I had a hysterectomy and have since found out, there was other treatment available, please check it out.My doctor total me there was no treatment for fibroids but there is,if i had known this I would have never had my hysterectomy, take care.
